  1. Also picked all of these up for a buck each (plus a couple dozen more not pictured.) Lots of shiny 90’s drek, but also a lot of newsstands and second prints, the sort of cheap junk I like! Also just about pooped my pampers when I found the Marvel Previews 95 for a dollar. Best score I’ve had in quite some time. Happy hunting!
  2. Fun pickup today at a little show. Love that black cover and strong Halloween image.
  3. Man, I never get tired of seeing that cover. Great book!
  4. Stopped by a shop I hadn't been to for a couple of months. Found a couple of things that made the trip worthwhile. Also rescued some Aliens and Grendels from the bargain bins.
  5. Nice stuff! I sold my entire Bat collection except for my Kelley Jones run. Just couldn’t give em up.
  6. Ah, there’s that Grendel 3! Ha Sorry I ran it up on you, I’m glad it went to a boardie. I’m also trying to finish the set in 9.6. The painful thing is I had a 9.6 sitting in an online cart for $155 for MONTHS, and I just failed to pull the trigger. Then Netflix announcements hit, and now this is a $300+ book. Congrats and enjoy!
  7. Thanks! Yeah, I was actually happy to get them at that price. Ultimately cheaper than if bought them raw and paid to have them slabbed and shipped back, and I didn’t have to wait a year for them to get graded. For these books, 9.4/9.6 are good enough for me.
  8. Hey Patrick! The one on the left is a regular Snowcat with the missiles, rockets and skies from the 1987 “Vehicle Gear” accessory pack. It came with a full set of green missiles and rockets (and light grey skis) for the Snowcat along with several other random missiles. I always thought it would be fun to compete a Snowcat with those, so I finally got around to it. I also have Iceberg driving as he has a bit of green on his goggles, I thought they matched up ok. I looooved the Wolf as a kid, it may have been my favorite Cobra vehicle, oddly enough. I loved the rockets, ski missiles, turret gun, double cockpits…for the size and price, it had a lot of cool play options. I also loved Ice Viper with his weird Darth Vader helmet and sais. Such an odd combo, but I thought it was so cool. I picked up a shell 10 years or so ago and took my time completing it. Oddly enough, the hardest piece to find was a second sai for the Viper! Those have gotten pricey.
  9. Nice! Snowcat rules! Even with its dodgy, just-begging-to-be-broken design, it's still a classic. Here are mine. I still need a Tiger Cat to replace the one i lost in my youth. I have TF Frostbite ready to go!
  10. Fun pickup from my shop tonight. I actually stopped in because they'd just gotten in a huge vinyl collection. By the time I got there someone had scooped up all of the Dead Boys and Televisions. Still had a huge selection of Bowie, Iggy and Lou, but it weren't cheap, nope. So I settled for a Tim Curry record for $4.99. My consolation prize was this Superman 16 which he'd just finished pricing and was getting ready to put up. It's a rag, and missing the centerfold, but it's still a Superman 16, so it came home with me.
  11. This is what happens when you party a little too hard and decide to take a flyer on some cheap stuff, or as I call this “GI Joe: The Good Enough I Guess Collection”. Happy to have the War Child in 9.8. I’ll probably hang onto my 9.6 for the time being. Got sniped at the very last second on the Grendel 3, which is maybe a mixed blessing, as I could have had it for half that price a month ago. Stupid Netflix tax! We’ll see how the rest of the week goes. I don’t have my eye on anything big, but plenty of weird drek i apparently found appealing while flying the friendly skies. Don’t Drink and Clink, kids. Or do. I guess it’s fine!
  12. Hey bud! Well, I can’t recall precisely, I know I got it at Lexington Toy and Comic Con; but I’ve been to several of those, so they all sort of blur together. I’d say it was at least five years ago, but wouldn’t be surprised if it was more. I’d been searching for a true NM raw for many years, and that was the nicest one I’d found. He was asking $400 but gave me the “dealer discount” because it was in the hours before the show actually opened. Spoiler alert: I’m not a real dealer. I was more than happy to pay it.
  13. Hey fellas, hope everyone has been well! I haven’t bought any comics in forever, as most of my money has gone to toys in recent months, and also I just haven’t seen much locally that got me excited. My regular LCS got some Marvel mags in this weekend. Got to the shop right after the first Rocky/Rocket Raccoon and Starlord books sold, but brought back these cheap consolation prizes.
  14. Funny timing on this one, getting it back the same week that the Netflix series was announced! I’d hoped for a 9.6 but 9.4 is a fair cop. I’ve had this one for several years, paid about $360 for it. Can’t believe what they’re going for now. What kills me is that a few months ago I decided to start working on a CGC Grendel set, because at the time no one really cared outside of a small group. Was still looking for a Comico mini 1 & 3 in 9.6 - 9.8 at a price I wanted to pay, but I waited too long because now they’re asking crazy money. I had a soft looking #1 9.6 in my cart for months, couldn’t make myself pull the trigger at $900. Now it’s relisted at $1800. Jinkies! Anyway, Grendel rules. Even if prices go up, I hope some of these flippers actually discover the wonderful weirdness of this series and become fans.
  15. Thanks guys! Yes, I was a little surprised on the white pages, but aside from that water stain on the back, it’s a pretty nice book. WP are just gravy!
  16. This came home today, my first sub in a couple of years. Happy with the grade. And yes, I’m a hypocrite: I’ve bagged on the custom labels for a while now, but this one actually made sense to me!
  17. Thread necromancy! Took me a while to get around to subbing the book, but it finally came back today. 4.0 and white pages! If this was your guess, congrats, you win…well, nothing really. Satisfaction? I was expecting a 4.0, I was worried the water stain might drop it lower, so I’m quite satisfied. A 4.0 at the time I posted this was a good return in investment, and considering the run up the book had a few months ago, I’m VERY pleased with the price I paid. Thanks again for playing along.
  18. Nice! Happy to see Rocketeer get some love. This is the rare occasion where I love the books too much to let them go, so I won’t profit financially, but I’m looking forward to the new adaptation!
  19. Apparently I'm on a Joe roll these days. LCS got in a few random figures today. Had to have these Mission Brazil figures, they're super clean. Claymore's helmet will be tough/expensive, but not impossible. The file card is also uncommon. Recondo is a little floppy, but complete for $20, had to grab him. no idea why pics post sideways from my iPad, too lazy to try to fix it!
  20. Oddly enough, my understanding is that it’s the Earthrise Cliffjumper body, with a Walmart BB head.
  21. Also grabbed the new Target exclusive Worlds Collide TF set. Really just wanted Fangry, but after selling the other figures and paying fees, I’ll essentially get him for free, plus a few extra bucks.
  22. Target restocking the long sold out Cobra Island figures was the straw that broke the camel’s back. I guess I’m collecting GI Joe Classified now. Still missed out on Major Bludd and Beach Head, but this is a good start. Wish I’d been able to snag a couple more Vipers, but at least I’ve got one. Also got Flint on Amazon for $15, and a Lady Jaye at the Joe Show. BBTS still has most of the rest of the figures in stock, so I don’t have to be in a huge hurry to catch up.
  23. Two books sent for express pressing and grading. Arrived 6/28. Have been “at CCS for pressing” for a little over a month now. It’s been a couple of years since I’ve subbed, I’m assuming they’ll charge me for the grading when they are done at CCS? Not in a huge hurry, which is a good thing, apparently. Have two more I was going to sub once these two are finished, but I’m thinking maybe I should go ahead and send them now if I want ‘em back this year…
  24. I also finally got around to opening up some of the Transformers I’ve accumulated in the last year. Really loving these 86 movie inspired figures. I’ve already bought two Hot Rods, and may need a couple more!
