  1. Bought some of the Death's Head Transformer books a while back. Everything came on time and well packed. They are some tough books to care for as they are very thin. Thanks!
  2. Oh yeah..before we moved in my wife kept saying that she was going to get a 37" TV for my room. I knew it was too small and kept telling her that we needed to wait to get in there. We have discovered that all our TVs were too small. The one in my room used to be our bedroom TV. Our current bedroom TV was our living room TV. I'll eventually get a new one in there.. I do have a 63" TV behind my desk I could plug in for the mean time
  3. yeah I know about the painting. The big thing is that with this being a new house the builder will come through after a year and fix settlement issues. The catch is that they will only repaint if it is the original paint. After a year I think we will go through and put some different paint up on the walls all over the house.
  4. My wife and I bought a brand new house and moved in at the end of March. I'm slowly setting up my Comic Book Room. I unpacked my figures and decorations. Still need to hang pictures and paint (ugh). I plan on doing a 3x3 display using my FrameItAgainSam frames on one of the walls. I will probably change out that TV for something bigger. All in all a good start. Wide shot Close-ups of each section: Pic of my desk: I bought a new scanner so I am rescanning my slabs. Have them laid out on the table and on the sofa
  5. I got this commission back in February but I was moving to a new house so hadn't been able to set up my Comic Room and scan the new commission. Set it up when I read on here that Sal Buscema was opening up his list. Green Goblin is one of my favorites from his run on Spider-Man in the 90's.
  6. Here is mine. I got this in an e-Bay auction for a set of Spider-Man #1's signed by McFarlane. This was listed more as an after thought. It is page 2 from the 80's Marvel Try-Out Book that Mark Bagley won to become a Marvel Artist.
  7. I set this up for last year's Baltimore convention. Chrissie Zullo was real easy to work with but she over-booked her commission list. She sent this scan to me yesterday. I really like it and looking forward to adding it to my collection
  8. Comic artist Tyler Kirkham's workspace and Skyrim basement. Pretty cool! http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/2012/12/shelf-porn-saturday-see-where-tyler-kirkham-works-and-plays/
  9. Can't forget Jo Chen. Crazy talented and super nice.
  10. I got them from Ikea http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/70201811/#/80071319 I have two sets at home. The one I took a pic of (4x4) and a smaller one in my computer nook (2x4) . They both are pretty sturdy but the big one feels a little weird if you are trying to move it around. Once it is in place you're good to go.
  11. We bought them at the Container Store. They are on sale right now for $8 a pop http://www.containerstore.com/shop?productId=10017275&N=&Nao=20&Ntt=magazine
  12. Thanks.. the bookcase is in our living room so they needed to look good to be out in public
  13. I dumped a bunch of books and got rid of my filing cabinets... so here are my new Magazine boxes. iPhone photos in my house turns everything yellow.. 7 - 8 slabs fit. 25 - 30 with Mylars and Fullbacks 30 - 40 with Poly bags and regular
  14. I think most people would say ComicArtFans.com as the go to place for OA. Heritage just released an iPad app for their catalog that I really like.. it made it pretty easy to view the OA from the current auctions. eBay is so-so with looking for OA. Like most of eBay you have to sift through a bunch of junk to get to what you want.
  15. Here is his Deviant Art page: http://rantz.deviantart.com/ I think I found out about him here and ended up liking him on Facebook.. He posed some sketches to eBay and the commissions were there as well.
  16. I got this a week ago or so. I really liked how the artist did the commission opp. Randy Kintz (Rantz) was selling some commissions through Ebay with a rough sketch of a character. All that was done was the position and male/female. After that you picked the character and he filled the rest in. I gave him a choice between Dagger or Firestar. Got a Dagger and I really like it.
  17. Read this article today thought it was pretty good Con Etiquette: How to Ask for a Sketch
  18. So my scanner was kicking my butt today. While I was updating and going through new settings it had a 3D object/irregular object pre-set option. It didn't work because my scanner HP 8600 Pro cant do scans. But when I hovered over the setting I noticed that the 3d Object option is only supported by HP TopShot printers. Looks like they are doing 3D scanning. http://www.hp.com/united-states/campaigns/topshot/index.html#.T3El3exSRzJ Anyone seen these or used them? Thoughts?
  19. yeah.. but I would be more worried about the Lizard eye that is eyeing you down.. judging you..
  20. http://io9.com/5873346/in-this-spider+man-themed-bathroom-the-lizard-is-watching-you-poop Not my room but it did give me some ideas for when I do get a full comic room.. rather than my comic corner.
  21. Just got a box full o' Spideys from Mark. Great looking books. Mark was super nice to deal with and made sure that everything went will with shipping and all that.
  22. Sorry to hear this Mike.. I can't comprehend this sort of comment... I'm a pretty quiet guy and can't understand someone getting so worked up on a forum. There is part of me that says yeah file a report since this guy seems to keep coming at you. Kind of a better safe than sorry. It might be worth it to see if the mods can do a little more to beef up their shill-fu skills
  23. Here is a pic from a trip the CBCA did last year to the LoC of what they store their comics in. I can't remember the name of the company that made them for the LoC but they are all one piece of archival material with a window. If I remember correctly it is one flap on the side and one on the top to keep it all in. Just remembered I had a pic of it. Thought you guys would like to see it.
  24. What does that mean? I want to know as well. I know very little about the SS process but, if you have suffered in some way, Maybe a vote is in order. That's what I meant to say. I'm pretty sure CGC has a minimum requirement of books when doing these kinds of Sketch Opps. You have to work it out before hand with the CGC SS guys/gals and then you can advertise the Opp. The artist might also have an expectation on how much with they were going to do. If it is becoming a time crunch I would say open up the spot and see if you can get it to the artist in time or a little late like a day or two. There are enough sketch folks out there I'm sure you could get someone in there.
