The best books are the ones that cost less than lunch.
If Cleveland wins the Series this year, I figure this book is going to the moon.
Unfortunately it will not be going interstellar. The Astros are going to the Series.

Been bottom-feeding with about 30 books won so far...nothing major, in fact, I don't think I won a single book over $200 yet. Prices seem timid on the non-key, non ultra high grade material.
Seems as if they get fewer eyeballs for these off-month auctions, although there are some decent offerings and some books that make you wonder why they aren't in their big auctions.
There's cool GA in every Focused Auction.

Cap 3 and friends:
Awesome.

Even though it's a scarce Hitler and Churchill war cover, still looks like a relatively strong price at over $4K for a VG+ copy.
I was casually following the bidding for Weird 20. With only 3 bidders in the game it had already hit ~$1900 (with BP); then a 4th bidder steps in later... and the final hammer at $4000+ for a book at GD- 1.8!!
Looks like I can probably forget about completing that run.
Yes, my bad as I should stop stop trying to Google auction results on a small cell phone screen which is harder to read. That VG+ auction result was from back in 2013.
Yes, now it's most definitely a crazy strong price at $2,868 for a RAW G- copy:
Pretty much as crazy as the VG copy of U.S. Jones #2 that sold last summer for almost $5K. But at least that one was a graded and slabbed copy. But still......
Was wondering where you guys were getting the $4K from. Still, a strong price.
Strong price for sure!!! It's a good thing it fits into my humble collection so perfectly!! Gotta take em where you can get em right!!
Pics to Come sooner than later!!
Way to go, Mr P!

2 of the 3 comics belong in this thread. The one that doesn't I doubt I'll get any complaints.
These are not my comics but belong to a friend who bought these 40 years ago and they are not for sale. When I asked what he thought the FAC 20 would be worth he said $2000. I said he was off a little.
I'm sending them to CGC so I get to enjoy them until they head for a vacation in FL.
I thought you fellow geeks would like to see them.
Thanks, Leroy. Just have CGC ship them back directly to me. No sense you spending the extra on postage...

Nostalgia for me. The 23 was the first Centaur I ever purchased....way back in the dim mists of time....

I just read 'The Bone Labrinth' by James Rollins; part of it dealt with Chinese scientists bio-engineering a population of 10-foot, 1,000-pound, intelligent, carnivorous (whew) gorilla hybrids for war purposes. Maybe the story's something like that, Leroy!!!

Classic Everett!
There's actually one FS over in the sales thread.
And to think, 3 years ago I could barely get $150 for a nice F/VF. Even worse, I solid it.

Beauties, Mick!

Northford.
Now that's WAY better than mine!!

Nice enough for that classic, Jay. Jeez I love that book

I think it's fair to say that you could assemble the rest of the run 5 times over without managing to get a #3.
