  1. Ahhh...I'll keep that in mind for anything I happen to pick up that consists of marker work. These are done with pencils only with the exception of a few, which were also inked. The storage space for them is dark and dry so I should be good to go as far as location in concerned. Time for a new location...I need more wall space!
  2. Looks like nice and neat, easy storage. Good way to go.
  3. I'm guessing that a few will make it to frames but most will be in these portfolios for years to come. They will be placed in a fairly dark room with shades always closed and the room temp is usually 60 to 70 degrees all year round and in a non smoking environment but I'd like the mylars to be nice and clear rather than cloudy if possible (bought some cgc bags that were cloudy that I wasn't thrilled with) but I'm mostly concerned with preserving the nice white board color as much as I can over the years. Thanks for your input. Much appreciated.
  4. Nice. Thanks for the links and suggestions. Much appreciated.
  5. I know most of these posts were from a few years ago. Is placing them in museum grade mylars 11x17 still the way to go and then placing them in 12x18 itoyas? Any specific 11x17 size mylars suggested so there's no worry about acid issues or otherwise down the road? Never bought them before as I only had a few OA pieces and all were framed but with all the new pieces I picked up recently, they'll have to go in a binder. Suggestions on best mylar museum grade 11x17 brand and where to buy? Looks like Amazon is still the way to go for an itoya binder that holds 12x18? Thanks
  6. As of the current gpa, it does reflect that for the last sale of each book. In reality though, the variant usually sells for about 25 to 50 percent more than the standard cover.
  7. Those were and still are, some amazing gaming covers.
  8. I did these with the new scanner today and there's a vast improvement when retaining pencil detail. Not too bad for an inexpensive scanner ($230 bucks I believe)
  9. Those still look good for a phone. Now I'm convinced...my phone is just trash. Nice pieces btw
  10. I decided to try this one out. The scanner for art was fine but as you had mentioned, not for comic books. I may have to return this one and keep looking for something that handles both. Here are the comparisons for the art. One taken with a cell phone and the other with the scanner listed above.
  11. Thanks for giving it a shot. Maybe I'll post a before and after once I get the Epson in this weekend. Could be helpful for anyone looking to improve their pics as I am if they stumble upon this thread.
  12. Just purchased one of the Epsons that was suggested above. Hopefully, that should give me what I'm looking. Thanks for the input. Much appreciated.
  13. That's kind of what I was thinking too, except using my camera rather than my cell since my pics aren't great on this particular phone. Just bought one of the Epsons that were suggested a few posts above so I'll see how that works out. If it doesn't, then I'll opt to experiment with some camera work and a tripod. Thanks for the suggestion Batman_Fan.
  14. Giving the Epson WF a shot and just ordered it. Hopefully good enough and there's no way it can be any worse than my phone pics. Thanks to all who suggested some ideas.
  15. Ok cool. @Brian Peck also suggested a similar Epson (WF 7820) but since you have one and you seem to like it, maybe I'll give one of these Epsons a shot then. Do you like the software it comes with?
  16. Android guy here but thanks for the suggestion. I was reading about an app that helped with comicart but unless I hoist it up against the wall, rather than top down view, I'd get my shadow while holding the camera. Tried a few with my phone but they didn't come out all that well. I also wanted something to take it without any distortion like the "fish eye" effect. I'll show the ones that I took with my phone here. Notice how my lens distorted the actual size of the paper from edge to edge/side to side. Also seemed to drown out the pencils a bit. I'm hoping the camera/tripod fares better than these. Thanks for the suggestion and also offering the results of your pics.
  17. Thanks for the link and suggestion. I had read that the scanner portion was poor quality in some reviews and it seems that was the case in the lower price bracket with most under 500 but since most art is black and white, I figure it can't be that bad. Might have to reconsider trying one. Thanks again.
  18. I was looking online for a scanner for original art but everything in the $500.00 range or below seems to get less than stellar feedback, either due to less than optimal software or the scanner wasn't meant for art and I'd rather buy new if I did go that route. Since I haven't bought much in the way of OA, I can't see spending 2-5k on a scanner. I do have a decent camera and a tripod, which I plan on experimenting with but wanted to see if anyone met with good results that way. I'd like to take the pics as straight as possible so that all images are centered and standing straight up. I figure between lighting and not having the shadow of myself and the camera overhead, I'd place each piece on the wall, while being propped up to fit as closely to the wall as possible to avoid any shadows or slight bending that causes an optical illusion. If anyone happens to have a few camera pics and you don't mind talking a bit about how you prefer to set them up before taking your shots, any pics and setups would be appreciated.
  19. Aside from the first Atrocitus, this book has a ton of first appearances in it and IMO, it comes down to how good or bad the GL show/movies are received. While most of them are cameos, it does give the book more revelance. If you're into the book because you like GL, then this is one of the books to have in that run. As far as room to grow goes, print runs aren't what they were a few decades ago (generally speaking). If you can pick up some nice raws at a good price, then I'd say go for it or maybe grab a copy of the regular cover and the variant as well and call it a day. I really like this book and I place it as one of the more important books to come out in some time for GL. Take a look at all the cameos this book contains in the link below. I do like the cover too. Something about red backgrounds that tends to get my attention. https://www.keycollectorcomics.com/issue/?search=green+lantern+25&groupBy=issue&orderBy=queryRelevance
  20. Newsie that I found not that long ago (finally), that keeps the 9.4 newsie and a few 9.8 mcguiness variants company. Haven't gotten around to picking up a slabbed copy yet but I love this cap/red hulk cover too.
  21. Found my old copy on this past clink auction and bought it back for less than 1/3 the price that I sold it for.
