What does "willing to pay GPA" signal to you as a Seller?
Sakaarian collector replied to KPR Comics's topic in Comics General
This. or the GPA is so outdated that paying GPA would be a steal. Good example is Hulk 1 cgc 7.5 (42,000) last gpa 6.5 gpa is 55,200.00 and 7.0 is 51,000.00 and even that 7.0 sale has been destroyed on clink at 62K I believe. Yeah, I'd pay GPA for a 7.5 too! -

I remember the lines extending out of the theater doors when that landed in my area.

Agreed. I would like to have seen some incentive to watch the full trailer if I were a casual fan. Opinions can be swayed with a good full trailer with some action scenes and a few good reveals. Teasers should be more enticing. especially for movie goers that arent hardcore comic fans. They should have given the teaser a bit more thought but im sure the end product will be good.

This Week in Your Bronze Age Collection!!
Sakaarian collector replied to TupennyConan's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
Just posted this in the Price Variant club thread too. After quite some time attempting to buy it back, its finally coming home. (This isn't the copy I just posted recently. Its a second copy for those who saw that recent post). -
And then there were two. The copy on the left, is my old copy and I've been working on buying it back for some time now. Finally sealed the deal last night.

What's new in your Silver Age collection this week
Sakaarian collector replied to Silver's topic in Silver Age Comic Books
This is without question, one of the best FF covers of all time. -
Eternals was a teaser trailer as others have mentioned. I think this one is going to surprise a lot of people. No big reveals in the teaser and nothing to make people that are not familiar with the characters want to see it (Yet). When the full trailer drops, I think opinions will change for many but time will tell. I for one, can't wait to finally see it.

Where in the world was the Quality Control at CGC???
Sakaarian collector replied to Wally's Comics's topic in Comics General
I managed to remove it today! Took a super tiny flat head screw driver for fixing sunglasses to open the bottom of the case just a tiny bit and it fell right out. -
How often do you ‘use’ your collection.

Wow... That's something I never hear. Reading comics to the kids. That's awesome. I like going through them from time to time. I tend to use myslabbedcomics site to view my graded stuff but I'll go through the raw collection every month or so. -
Silver age comics that are heating up
Sakaarian collector replied to rabidwolf's topic in Silver Age Comic Books
You can look up individual books by just typing the book in the "auction" section on the left side of the home page. It will require that you sign in to see the end result. I've never tried looking for the entire list of auction results as a whole though. I just looked up a Marvel Spotlight 5 9.6 SS sale for example and it shows up once I log in. This is also assuming you were trying to follow specific books in the auction and you know which issues you wanted to check up on for their results. Each sale gives you end dates as to when it sold as well. -
Comiclink, Comic Connect, Heritage, etcetera... Wins...
Sakaarian collector replied to Buzzetta's topic in Comics General
That's exactly why I think. Everyone puts in tracking bids. The Showcase run is a great run overall as there are so many good books. -

I was watching that one too. Just curious to see what the end result would be. That Boston Spectre 9.8 was nice too. -
Where in the world was the Quality Control at CGC???
Sakaarian collector replied to Wally's Comics's topic in Comics General
I've never seen anything trapped inside the inner holder but I'm pretty sure it is far less likely. Things happen, which is understandable as we all make mistakes but some of these books in this thread blow my mind. Missing labels? Books being placed backwards in their cases? How does that even happen? In response to #2, I'd likely attribute most issues to them being overloaded with work and I'm guessing the pace is so frantic that mistakes occur far more than they would normally but that's just a guess. -

Seller was completely honest about it and listed a back scan of the book when it was up for sale. I knew full well what I was getting and I was ok with that but how did they miss a 2 inch plastic sliver when casing this? I'm not going to bother submitting since it is hair thin and does not bother the book since its between holder and mylar. I'm not risking damage to the book for any reason If I don't have to. (Looks like a crack in the slab but it isn't. Slab is in perfect shape) Literally a sliver of plastic inside. -
Moderns that are heating up on ebay!

Crazy right? One minute, you find books in the dollar bins and the next day, its a rock star.
