  1. Oh my God, that is bad**s! Is one of those number one's a first printing? Also, I still don't count Signature Series as true 9.8's. The signatures just aren't worth that much considering the large amount of them and how easily you can obtain them. The signatures also degrade the true 9.8 condition of the book since the ink will eventually bleed through to the pages beneath. Fact.
  2. That's such a great book to get in 9.8 with white pages. I'm just saddened that it's an SS because as you may already know, it won't truly be a 9.8 in another 10 years after that sig ink has stained the pages below. I've been hunting down a universal grade for a while for this book with that rating. Congrats though all the same. It's what matters to you that's important. Anyone know what the going rate for Laird or Eastman's sigs are? Over the last 5 years I feel like you see signed stuff from there EVERYWHERE. That's the second hesitation I have when buying SS books. It seems like it does little to improve the value since their signatures are so easy to obtain. I'd rather retain the true integrity of the book versus get an autograph that really won't be uncommon at all in another 15 years after that much more stuff gets signed. I feel like my universal books would be more valuable in that much time since I'll have a true, unstained copy of the book with nothing on the cover to obstruct from the great artwork.
  3. What Universal CGC's have you got recently, Adam? I cringe when I see all these CGC Sig Series but I respect why you want them all. I really do. You'll never convince me that these books are going to be still in 9.8 condition by the time the ink runs underneath the pages even in the next 10 years which makes them not as valuable as my pristine 9.8 and higher CGC Universal's. As far as I'm concerned, CGC Sig books are only as valuable as the signature because condition means nothing once you have someone draw on the cover. Tomato, Tomatoe as always. I think eventually though even CGC will think this way down the road. Every time a book is signed and graded by Eastman or the TMNT team, the value of all the other signed CGC sig Eastman stuff goes down. I love the man to death but his signature is so easy to come by that I really only want it on a few things and that's enough for me. I'd rather collect stuff in Mint condition with no markings or writings.
  4. so much are you going to sell that Raph one to me for? Yes, I'm very serious.
  5. Amazing pickup. I'd offer you $1200 now just for one of them. Sad that she didn't realize what she had. I wonder if her son or whoever she was selling these for knew of their true value.
  6. Loving the Ernie Reye sig. Might just need to get a sig myself in a 9.8 form. Great score!
  7. off-white pages? eh, pass! You jest but that's kinda how I feel. I wouldn't shell out that much money for anything less than white pages.
  8. Ugh, more CGC 9.8 signatures. Every time Kevin signs a book (and he must have signed a million by now), his signature goes down in value in my opinion since it becomes that less rare. I really hope someone cracks open one of the signed in marker CGC books in another 10 years and finds that the ink truly did bleed into the "white pages" of the book making it's grade way further down. You either collect a book for signature value, you collect a book to keep pristine and perfect, or you collect it to read. Can't have both or all three in my opinion. I'm happy to know that I already have all the mirage signatures on several items but my CGC 9.8 WP comics will stay just the way they are over the years. Plus I think the signatures just end up hiding that beautiful artwork underneath them.
  9. I still think the signature books shouldn't be counted as CGC 9.8 books because the ink from the sigs will degrade the comic cover over time. I have several books printed on the same paper as the early TMNT books that have been signed and it eventually does bleed through some and cause stains in the inside cover and sometimes the cover page with time. It might not do it on all books but some it will which would make it not a 9.8 book anymore. While the sigs are great, they're not really hard to come by. I have 5 books in total signed by each of the major TMNT artists and that's enough for me. The rest of my collection I want to be unsigned so I know that they can remain true 9.8 WP books for as long as then can. Just my two cents. There is some truth to it though despite those that may think that ink won't bleed over time.
  10. yeah, there's a lot of stuff where I'm a have it or not kinda guy too. Because I've had to compromise with my wife on the size of my collection, I tend to go for quality in most cases since I'm limited on what I can display. Certain things like that Turtlemania Gold though are exceptions because I would take a CGC 1.0 just to have one.
  11. That really does look great. The best way to display CGC comics. Nice job. What are the grades on the comics?
  12. I just wished MIrage could have wrapped everything up for their storytelling side of it all. I would have loved to see like 5 more books at least which each covering a decade of the remainder of the turtles lives.. Just would have been nice to watch it all come together full circle.
  13. man, love that cover. Anyone else concerned about IDW landing the Turtles comic series? I'm really bummed that the Mirage cannon will no longer exist.
  14. nice get....getting closer. I have 3 copies of that #4 reprint with 2 of them being 9.6 and 9.8 I'm so sure. I just need to finally go 10 minutes down the road and drop them off for grading.
  15. Hey Danny, you've been quiet on the Drome boards lately. Have you acquired anything new art wise?
