  1. Big Hero 6 'Inspired by' - not 'based on'. I actually watched a lot of this movie just a little while ago, while waiting to shoot black bear and blue heron pictures.
  2. The original Men in Black had the Marvel brand at the end of it's credits too. (ahem) (cough, cough)
  3. Moviegoers might have started thinking they aren't getting enough heroes for their buck now after The Avengers. Look at Guardians, CA: The Winter Soldier, Big Hero 6 loading up on heroes. Just a thought. Haven't seen it yet, but I heard there was only one extra one from Winter Soldier in it.
  4. I thought Poltergeist already opened to middling numbers and you underestimate the die-hard group of Chipmunk fans that make these movies hits . That's the one I meant to pull off the list when I included updates a few days ago. The original release date changed, and most probably to the studio's regret. (thumbs u

  7. $58 million isn't too shabby, considering it could have done worse. When I get drunk enough, this movie actually starts to look pretty good, like it's director.
  8. Fair enough. I'll go with this. And my sons' friends all love the Teen Titans GO series, and collect the figures. So even the elementary school crowd know who these characters are. We'll see if those same audience members can relate to a live production of this character. Since he will be integrated into the earlier movies, maybe it isn't too much of a stretch. ...and Cyborg didn't gut-punch Bill Paxton to death in an R-rated movie either. A lot of kids are aware of the Terminator, but mainly through Arnold Schwarzenegger's (wow, I can still spell it) likeness and probably not sitting through one of the violent movies.
  9. Fans of Pixar films owe Howard The Duck a debt of gratitude then.
  10. Please...no. We need serious dark, not campy dark. Plus I don't want Depp or Bonham-Carter anywhere NEAR this movie. But Danny Elfman has done some great DC movie/TV musical scores, Batman, The Flash (90).
  11. It's funny. I'm trying to watch Wonder Woman (The "New" Adventures of...) on MeTV right now and I find it practically unwatchable. Last week's episode with Henry Gibson as the main baddie has not aged well either.
  12. Is it safe to admit I might want to watch this movie? I haven't watched a trailer yet (I live in the mountains-low internet speed), but the behind-the-scenes stuff on the new X-Men Rogue Cut looked pretty engaging. I'm hoping so. I'd hate to see another F4 come out that I feel guilty watching. Though at least with "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer' at least I bought that at the Dollar Tree. Guilt trip funnybook dvds I own: Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, Underdog, The Scribbler, Special, Super, Defendor, Elektra, All Superheroes Must Die, Paperman, Josie & The Pussycats, Virus, Man-Thing, Punisher: War Zone, Hercules, to name a few... That's a lot of FF 2 remainder DVD's to sell off a buck a piece from a big studio. There still was quite a few of them left a few weeks after up here in NH. I was thinking of getting 10 of them for trick 'r treaters, but kids probably don't watch dvds anymore. Bought the Cosmic Edition at Family Dollar (soon to be owned by Dollar Tree) for $3. Got the Extended Edition of Part 1 there too. (thumbs u

  14. Have they? I really think that's perception and the overall "shared universe" factor if you were to rate the movies individually and on their own merits, less than half of them (at least to me) are IM1 - IM2 - Thor - CA1 - Avengers  IM3 - Thor2 - CA2 - GOTG - I haven't seen the last two (AV2 and Ant-Man) IM1 - IM2 - Thor - CA1 - Avengers : IM3 - Thor2 - CA2 - GOTG - Big Hero 6 - This is how it goes for me. IM - IM 2 - (thumbs u IM 3 - CA - (thumbs u THOR - (thumbs u AVG - GOTG - AOU - (thumbs u Have not seen Thor TDW or Winter Soldier. Thor 2 is light, yet entertaining enough and TWS is pretty well directed until the finale. (thumbs u Whoopsie! I forgot The Incredible Hulk (see Thor 2 review)

  16. Go rent her "The Entitled", Nick. There's plenty of opportunities down the road for a guest appearance/nod. I would love to see Marc McClure or Dana Reeves show up someday as well. Wasn't Annette O'Toole a good-luck charm to the franchise as well.
  17. I thought it was pretty cool to give us something different in Iron Man 3. Not everyone likes change. But, sometimes "change is good". Do. Not. Dissect. My. Post.
  18. ...and no one is forcing anyone to watch these movies either. You didn't like the trailer, voiced your opinion and in the words of Queen Elsa "Let It Go". I saw the Paul Plart 2 trailer. I didn't go over to the Sony forums and tell them how much I hated it times infinity, so when it got panned, everyone knew I was right. Best of all, I don't see movies that I don't like the trailers to (I really don't watch trailers anymore anyway). But, I got a feeling a lot of these Rex Reed wannabes, are gonna watch it anyway, so they got something to complain about. Kudos to the folks on here, who kept an open mind.
  19. Me confused. So, you don't think it will go the route MGM superdud Supernova did? http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=supernova.htm
  20. The only real major added spoiler is that.. good Although I wouldn't mind having both versions in one set, I'm feeling even more picking up this new version is not going to bring any additional benefit. Thanks Meeklo for posting the comparison details. I picked it up tonight. For the main reason... I've always felt Anna Paquin was cheated out of this movie in some way after strong showings in the first two and force fed Ellen Page in the third and original cut of this one. Plus, it has 90 mins. of all-new behind the scenes stuff and a sneak peek of Fantastic Four.
  21. Those Pierce Brosnon James Bond's baddies were poor shots. Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies being the worst offenders. Die Another Day was a joke anyway, ice palace/invisicar my butt. Han Solo dodged his fair share of laser blasts as well.
