  1. +9 It's my favourite run of the series. Is that Tom Brady the quarterback? (I googled that ) I'll have to take you at your word coz my Supergirl Vol 3s are all nicely packaged away somewhere safe... (thumbs u Back cover Milk mustache ad. I was sorry she didn't get one more Mary Marvel team-up in that arc also.

  3. Supergirl Volume 3 #75-#80 I believe Tom Brady made his first comic appearance on the back cover of #75 or #76 too.
  4. I'm only halfway through Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Deluxe Edition so far and WOW! I would give it four stars and declare it the best animated funnybook movie ever and I haven't even got to the parts with Superman so far. I wanted to stop and watch the 90 minute documentary on Frank Miller to get an even better feel of what he was doing with this. Also watched the wonderful doc on Carrie Kelly. This is a must buy for funnybook movie collectors. But at 2 1/2 hours, I felt I had to break it into two after spending the afternoon watching comic 'toon movies.

  6. And I had this movie in my hand today while shopping with the family. And I put it back. Oh, it was unexpectedly fun like Assault on Arkham. I wasn't expecting too much and was surprised how much everything fit together. There's like a 26 minute documentary on Robin on it too, with two B:TAS cartoons. (thumbs u
  7. Watched a couple animated funnybook movies this afternoon. Iron Man: Extremis was pretty god-awful (I'm not a fan of motion-comics to begin with. It seems cheap) and the wonderfully exciting Under The Red Hood. Walmart has a superhero sale on double disc DC animated DVDs, so I picked up a few for my collection. They are full of bonuses. I have Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Deluxe Edition to watch next, but I might take a break from these kind of movies tonight and watch Pretty Woman or something. 1. 8. I sold a CGC 9.8 on here a few years ago. It's an $80 book in that grade all day long. In my opinion, it's my favorite "origin" for her and look, but it has nothing to do with her regular continuity the show will probably take. Britney Spears collectors should be hunting for this book though, (I actually sold a lot of Brit-Brit early magazines on eBay for $$$) because this little blonde rocked her midriff 4-5 months before Spears came on the scene with the look. Oh man... I'd give my canines for that comic in 9.8 That's $80 for a 9.2, I take it? I've never seen a CGC 9.8! I have a VF/NM raw at home I'm going to sub one day... just coz it's one of my favs and I'm pretty clumsy! I love the white and blue uniform, although prefer the more traditional look, if I HAD to choose (which I don't ). Britney Spears owes her success to Bruce Timm $80-100 for a CGC 9.8. Out of the many graded books I've had and let go over the years, (Superman #20 CGC 9.0, ASM #100 CGC 9.8, L&K #1 CGC 10, etc) this was one of the top ones I've regretted letting go... Disclaimer: not my book anymore But, I have a few raw 9.8 candidates that I might eventually grade. Not for speculation, but because I loved this book so much.

  10. I've been catching up on Alias before work. Now, I'm super excited for this show!
  11. Sadly I got the books today. They were in great condition. My heart dropped when I saw "second printing" on the inside of issue 1 and 3. Sigh. On that note I'm looking to buy The Crow #1 first printing from the original series if anyone has one for sale in nice condition. Same thing happened to me on my #1. If only there were a quick, easy way for a seller to identify later printings.... Good luck! That's why I only deal with my man Bosco for my Crow needs. Add me to the Bosco-Crow club. Well, I'll say this. Bosco might be a die-hard Crow collector, but he is also one of the most generous members on here to help your collection in any way. He always found the time to answer Jen's or my questions through pms and always encouraged her focus. She was always so proud to win two awards for #1 Crow Registry Sets before people got going with theirs. Nick had a lot of the credit with that too. Here's to the #1 Crow collectors of tomorrow just starting today. ...It's nice to know they'll be Bosco there rooting for you wherever you place on that list.
  12. Boy, you know your MAOS stuff. (thumbs u I couldn't get into the first season as well (too polished), but the promise was there, so I bought it ($6! Best Buy CA: Winter Soldier promotion) and plan to catch up when the second season gets released on disc as well.
  13. It was snowing, so I went right home after work. saga...
  14. There'll be 3 more Daredevil TV show threads by then. Heck, I had a Daredevil TV show thread.
  15. The original trailer for RoboCop I thought was great at the time - it's what made me want to go see the movie... what was wrong with it? I just went and watched it on youtube... it may seem dated now, but at the time, I thought it was cool...All of that other stuff I don't care about - if the trailer looks good and I'm interested, I'll go see it. To me it was a minute and thirty-nine seconds of a bunch of shooting pyrotechnics all set to the score to the Terminator playing in the background. It looked like a minor step up from the other direct to video killer cyborg movies of the time. Nothing about Weller's inner struggle of regaining his humanity after he lost it, no Basil Poledouris score, nothing making it unique to make it connect better with the mainstream. I also used RoboCop as an example because of having a somewhat troubled sy-fy production too. All in all, agree to disagree. I had these same kind of discussion's prior to ASM2. Just sayin'. I don't remember you or reading in depth discussions about ASM 2. Sorry, if I was somewhat redundant.
  16. I want to bring up never judge a movie by it's trailer (RoboCop), but things are definitely different with internet media speculation over troubled projects (Robocop-actress drops out, the suit doesn't work, the MPAA, etc) than it was almost 30 years ago. Nowadays, if a big-budget movie is being a bit shy pre-release, than most likely we're getting a 'Wild, Wild West' or 'The Avengers' (98). I'm still hoping for the best.
  17. Love Ron Perlman. Been watching Quest for Fire and Alien Resurrection this weekend.
  18. Sometimes a movie can surprise the heck out of you. I remember watching the trailer to Austin Powers thinking they used all the good jokes in it and thought it was kinda lame. Saw the movie and it was a magical experience that the whole audience shared as well. Flahback 10 years before Austin and it's safe to say RoboCop (Terminator clone) and Lethal Weapon's (WTF) trailers stunk as well. Look how they turned out. People have a right to hold reservations, but with movies I never tend lose faith in something over initial teasers (TV on the other hand...).
