  1. I have about three seasons on DVD of Supernatural and haven't watched one episode yet. Only seen the promos here and there.
  2. The DC shorts of the Super/Shazam! movie wre friggin' brilliant too. I had just finished Bullitt Sunday night and was surprised to hear a homage of Lalo Schifrin on The Spectre short as Corrigan does his policework. It was like you did a time warp to Dirty Harry. After five minutes you are getting worried it's gonna get old than the music changes to a nod to John Carpenter's music in Christine as the Spectre posesses a car. Loved the energy! Than Thomas Jane's voice in the Jonah Hex was remarkable. That short had more twists and close calls than a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. Remarkably, it made me want to watch the awful movie again for more Jonah even. With the Green Arrow short (which I've already seen), highly recommended!
  3. “It’s not dead, during all – it’s solidly in row for a second deteriorate on NBC, that is still ancillary it,” executive writer David S. Goyer said, according to We Got This Covered. “Constantine got held in a midst of a change that is function during a networks. It gets large numbers on DVR and online views, though it is arrange of a tweener that doesn’t fit a normal observation box during a large networks. It’s not State Of Affairs, it’s only not that kind of show, though NBC likes it.” Can someone re-translate that to English? -slym That's as confusing as his screenplay to Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.
  4. Batman frank Miller dark knight? not #1 Haven't watched it yet. (thumbs u
  5. For my 20th animated DC movie, ...and although, it's technically a short, Superman/Shazam!: The Return of Black Adam helps erase a lot of the stank Captain Marvel has left in the DC Universe with Justice League: War and Justice League: Throne of Atlantis with movie quality animation. Perfect origin set-up that goes straight to the action. Black Adam is one bad-mother (he randomly kills). Wish it was longer and had some Mary Marvel. 1. Superman/Batman: Apocalypse***1/2 2. 6. Picked up a copy of Superman/Shazam!: The Return of Black Adam on the cheap today. It's also loaded with DC shorts and Bruce Timm TV show episodes. Gonna take a bit too watch all of it.
  7. Oh dude, I <3 'd Veronica Mars when it was on. I guess I can't wait to see a variation, maybe.
  8. it's pulling in the same #'s as World's Greatest Fails which probably cost Fox $9.99 to produce At least Aubrey Dollar's 2012 feature didn't beat it ratings wise.
  9. Sometimes there should only be one. KickAss was huge in my opinion. A phenomenal film of it's genre. Fresh and new and exciting. I thought the second one ruined it a bit, so I have to block it from my memory. There's a good reason why they never made Casablanca 2. I know a few people said it was hard to get into the Spider-Man movies again because KickAss was a Spider-Man grown up version. KickAss 1 was a masterpiece of superhero film making. Kick Azz was a little slick to be called that, especially with Cage in it going all H.I. McDunnah. But, it was a pretty good popcorn movie. I consider a funnybook masterpiece movie, The Dark Knight or The Crow. Because of the passion, blood sweat and tears they put in them to elevate them into our subconcious. Glad to see you're alright, it has been a lot of snow hasn't it? I almost killed my blower this morning.

I'm glad people enjoyed the sequel as much as they did. I just found it to be spinning it's wheels too afraid to delve into it's themes about ultraviolence because they didn't want to make fun of themselves like "22 Jump Street" fearlessly did. The original Kick Azz didn't build up a big enough mythology to fall back on either. Kick-Azz 1 was a done-in-one movie. It was wrapped up neatly at the end and left a door partially ajar for a follow-up, but isn't wasn't too necessary if they did. Other done in one movies... Beverly Hills Cop, Robocop, Lethal Weapon, Home Alone, Jaws, Dirty Harry, Ghostbusters, etc. But, sometimes a characters unique situation can warrant an interesting follow-up (Die Hard, Psycho, Batman, etc) because how he/she can react to to new characters in their enviroment. Dave's story was finished in the original Kick Azz for me and Mindy's was just starting. The sequel should have spun off with her (like the interestingly conceived Donnie Darko sequel). My
  11. Tonight's episode was an interesting marriage of Criminal Minds meets The X-Files. After watching David Arquette's The Cottage (young brides in cults) last year, I thought this would be an interesting plot for future crime shows involving lost young people.
  12. Chloe Moretz Grace was the best thing in the so-so sequel. She really struggled with the foster kid character stuck in a 'Mean Girls' plot while carrying a lot of the 2nd unit action on her shoulders instead the male lead. Considering all the Victoria Justices and Lucy Hales in Hollywood, Chloe works her butt off to stand out in big-budget drek like Dark Shadows to direct to video actioners like Texas Killing Fields to the experimental ones like Hick.
  13. To paraphrase Jessica Rabbit, "they are just drawn that way". Do we ever try to figure out how Thor can survive in space, how Superman can have heat or xRay vision (let alone all the other stuff) , how Daredevil and Batman patrol all night without sleeping? How GL's ring can really work? How Conga Bill could switch brains with the Goldden Ape and how Lois Lane could be SO dumb that she couldn't figure out Clark was Superman? they aren't real;) I just enjoy the stories, well Im not losing sleep over it, ha. That said, as you can see on this thread a number of people dont like blatant holes in the writing (such as toileting issues at star labs). Way I see it, Id like to see a show like this with some improbable things (like Flash, time travel, etc) surrounded by more practical things (toilet situation) There actually was a book published maybe a decade ago (?) that covered the impracticality of super hero powers. Didnt pick it up, wouldnt mind browsing it. There was an unofficial book to the TV show "Heroes" called The Science of Heroes. It's fun read that can be found in some dollar stores still. Sounds cool. The book i saw years ago in barnes and nobles was pretty thick and the writer got pretty darn in depth with actual science and how it would affect superheroes. At the time it looked like it got way too in depth and boring for me. That said, i only went to a state college so it is what it is, heh. At any rate, i find a lot of this supernatural stuff highly entertaing the more you stick it in realistic surroundings. Helps keep suspension of disbelief and all that Make no mistake, this is a fun show and it keeps me wanting for more Don't worry about it. Even the simplest thing that doesn't need a lot of explaining might turn even a boardie on here into a superhero. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Main=252203&Number=5534678#Post5534678

  15. They'll have to get Lexi Alexander or Mimi Leder instead.
  16. Ummmm... If she takes the offer, any credibility she has earned as a serious drama director will be out the window, due to Academy envy over Marvel's successful mainstream franchises. I'm betting she passes. She's a smart girl. She knows Tomb Raiders/Mr.&Mrs. Smiths only get you so far and at this stage of her career, I gamble she's looking for respect and legacy* now. *Why Ben Affleck is playing Batman is still a mystery to me though after all his recent critical acclaim as a director. He'll pay dearly if he chooses to direct again from the Academy*, during voting season. *Don't say "I don't care about the Oscars" either. It's not our club, it's theirs. The popular mainstream actors/directors love to close their careers holding at least one gold statue indicating they did something of meaning and not for the money from their fellow filmmakers.
  17. Get out the vote! Manny gets LAID tonight....how can that not gain at least a few viewers? Good Episode. I see next week's episode is the serie... season finale.
  18. This. Is a "hollywoodism" ( not a word ). Have her point the rifle in a menacing fashion appearing like she will use it but then she only uses the scope. Personally, I love how all these Hollywood "master snipers" always use a scope*. If she is so good with a rifle, she would be using open sights. *But, I think it's an audience point of view thing.
  19. Just finished Batman Beyond: The Return of the Joker. Now that one had a lot of plot, you don't see in the New 52 animated opuses. I just wish it had a darker ending for some reason.
