  1. But dosen't FOX need to have something in theaters to keep the license or does it only matter that FOX just has something filmed? Good question.
  2. (thumbs u Oddly enough the Catwoman short is on YouTube. And yeah, recommended. Never saw a DC character doing a pole dance before.
  3. It'll probably be delayed. Kinda crowded again this summer.
  4. The DC Showcase short "Catwoman" on the Batman: Year One disc was pretty awesome. Selena has to solve a mystery of why two goons are trying to whack a stray cat. Think "That Darn Cat" meets "Taken". Written by Paul Dini and directed by Lauren Montgomery (lovin' her stuff) and voiced by New England native Eliza Dushku. It clocks almost fifteen minutes long. Recommended. (thumbs u
  5. Batman: Year One was a solid animated effort. I've never read all of the graphic novel series (Bosco, I think you sent me one or two issues). At 63 minutes, it moved briskly enough also. Jim Gordon was a real stand-out (voiced by Bryan Cranston). Loved composer Christopher Drake's cue to Danny Elfman's Catwoman theme from Batman Returns. All in all, three out of four stars.
  6. JL:ToA's directors Jay Olivia & Ethan Spaulding have a pretty good track record (Olivia worked on the winning The Flashpoint Paradox and Spaulding did the some fine work with the Son of Batman). Why Olivia didn't just handle Atlantis himself is kind of a mystery though, maybe because of the bland Justice League: War movie he helmed. Who knows? I see the awful screenwriter of JL: War (Heath Corson) worked on Atlantis though. So, it won't be a blind buy on Tuesday for me. Told you I was getting picky with these, Nick.
  7. Remind 'em Jennifer Lawrence was in it, that makes it an automatic four star movie.
  8. Picked up a couple of DC movies on the cheap this morning at the soon to be closed Family Dollar. Batman: Year One (with Catwoman short) and Justice League: Doom. Both were directed by Lauren Montgomery, who has done some of the best animated efforts (Superman/Batman: Apocalypse, Green Lantern: First Flight, Wonder Woman and a segment in Green Lantern: Emerald Nights. I plan on discussing in this thread what she brings to the table when working on these down the road. Anyone interested in these should check out a Family Dollar in your area. The prices range from $3-5 for a two-disc set (love the behind the scenes stuff and bonus 'toons). They seem to only carry DC centric stuff.
  9. It's so puzzling why they want to keep making Crow movies after they were viciously ran into the ground with inferior installments. We already got three remakes with parts #2-4 (let's face it, guy gets wronged, comes back with a crow, makes the wrong things right). I really don't think the mainstream could tell the difference between Crow characters anyway as they usually tend to blend into the 2nd unit action shots after Lee set the bar so high, and you really think they would want to watch another Crow origin movie? Most likely not, no matter who they cast. If they want to save money and put out a great Crow movie, they should just touch up the '94 movie a little (some of the model shots are a bit overlit) and release a 21st Anniversary Edition in theaters. It would be a fitting tribute for O'Barr and Lee of when Hollywood got it right when taking plausible risks with a B-Movie. Forget about this remake and while you're at it forget about City of Angels, Salvation, Wicked Prayer and Stairway to Heaven as well.
  10. This is just a guess, because I don't know how big The Flash's role is for this one or down the road, but most likely scheduling conflicts and/or creator ego ("I don't want a TV actor in my $300+ million dollar movie"). Filmmaker's tend to want to choose their own quarterbacks.
  11. That would only enhance Man of Steel's Modern-mythology even better. Warner/DC really have to connect these movies better, asap. (thumbs u
  12. There's no way this is gonna be be a gothic, dark, moody atmospheric film like the first film or the graphic novel. The only way it could happen if they do it for a modest budget. But, then it runs the risk of the studio or distributor not understanding it and dumping it. I see it being made in a more "traditional" manner (like Robocop's reboot) if it has a budget, so it might have a chance playing overseas. Because of that, I hope Eric Draven continues to rest in peace after the '94 masterpiece.
  13. Well, there you go. I think you already know the answer to your question.
  14. Too bad they didn't have this show out before or on Halloween, like TWD.
  15. I've been in love with her Fern character since Jawbreaker.
