  1. That's like saying Warner can add ones like The Matrix to Tequila Sunrise to their DC gross haul. Yup, looks like Superman III grossed about $60 million and I was right about Octopussy. http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=superman3.htm Now the real question is why are these numbers in my head?
  2. Could have swore Superman III grossed $67 million (unadjusted) in '83. Might have been Octopussy though. Octopussy.
  3. I don't really see a problem with Gal Gabot not looking the part of a moderate bodybuilder. Rumors said, she might have a Kryptonian gene in her. Wouldn't the physics of that alone, mean the yellow sun's radiation gives her enough powers to be able to handle herself. I mean Supergirl has always looked like a skinny kid and my mind never thought, no muscle no strength. A flick of her hand, she could send Grod to the hospital for weeks. This is sy-fy afterall, anything is possible.
  4. Probably gonna write the thing as they go along, like Charlie's Angels (2000).
  5. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has a CG reboot movie with Sarah Michelle Geller doing the voice of April O'Neal. I actually liked it. Here's an interesting old one. Not based on a comic (there was a Masked Marvel comic though). The Masked Marvel http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Masked_Marvel This was one of Republic's best comic-booky serials, imho. I couldn't wait to find a DVD copy online.

  7. "We screwed up" isn't an explanation. I was searching for a word from the statement Plitch wrote. "Explanation" that they screwed up seemed best and polite.
  8. I said to myself I wasn't gonna comment on here until CGC said how they were gonna handle this. To me that was important. Everybody screws up, once or twice or many times (as with myself). Owning up to a mistake is just as important too. Good enough explanation to me.
  9. I find myself quoting a lot of the Tick's lines from it lately. I admit that I didn't watch it when it was originally on, but it has aged very gracefully to keep my interest now. Watched the entire run in two nights. Loved it too!
  10. Bought the complete Hanna Barbera series to Josie and the Pussycats today. Mainly for the Dan DeCarlo documentary that came with it (also got Necessary Evil: Villians of DC Comics). and... Coraline. It was based on a Gaiman graphic novel. My comic book movie collection also grows with 30 Days of Night: Dark Days (but you already had that one.
  11. Ummm... Whedon created most (if not all) of those slow-starters.
  12. OMG, where's "Monkeybone"? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monkeybone
  13. There really needs to be a light-hearted family movie for the wee ones, with a powerful hero. An uncomplicated good guy, just a plain bad guy, evil scientists, girl power, magic, etc. Look at the box-office to "The Lego Movie". For the DC universe, The Marvel Family seems to be the most obvious choice. This wouldn't have to be some darkened version of Billy Batson.
  14. I was actually against Olga at first, before I saw her in Oblivion. I was basing her on her throwaway role as a Bond girl in Quantum of Solace. But, after watching Oblivion, I was sold on her as a new Ripley-Alien- Rambolina. It reminded me of when when Uma did Kill Bill, Vol. 1 and then sandwiched a damsel in distress role (Paycheck) in between Vol. 2. Still like Gal Gabot too. Just hope she brings more to the table now.
  15. He does have that sinister twinkle in his eye Gene Hackman had in the original two movies. Yup. By casting Wilson the volleyball as Otis and Meg Ryan as Ms. Testbacher, you'll get the important Nora Ephron audience.
  16. I love movies. Always have, always will. By now, I have grown a keen sense of what overkill is. The end of Man of Steel was such a sensory overload of 21st Century pointless Irwin Allen destruction, it became literally impossible to really expect any level of grounded earth-bound reality (for a Superman movie), that the filmmakers so effectively established during the first 2/3 of the movie. The climax felt shallow and comic-booky. My But, still a good movie nonetheless. (thumbs u
  17. Not that anybody is too worried, but... Looks like the chance of Arrow coming back for a third season is pretty good according to entertainment weekly. http://insidetv.ew.com/2014/02/11/death-watch-2014-renewed-canceled/5/ Marvel Agents of SHIELD is another story.

  19. They could call it "Superman/Batman" in the credits on the poster or future DVR listings.
  20. I don't like any of them. But, I still like this one. I like the World's Finest inclusion, but I already felt the man of steel aspects of Cavill's character has been covered already. We get it, he's more than just a man of steel physically. It's like every Bond movie being called James Bond 007: Casino Royale, James Bond 007: Quantum of Solice, James Bond 007: Skyfall. etc. I'm almost for just a Superman/Batman symbol. I thought the first Batman movie in '89 sucessfully advertised itself with that iconic Bat symbol. Whether you saw tombstones or rounded teeth, it was unforgettable.
  21. Like every Hollywood trend of popular movies, the waters become stagnant after a while (slasher movies, teen movies, gross-out movies, etc). In theory, these movies will eventually start losing more steam at the box-office as they compete against each other. Maybe they are planning for it. In the end, it's gonna be about quality, not a big budget or expectations, for them to stand out from one another before they are put into back into Hollywood's long boxes. I must admit in 2004, I never thought Hollywood would ever take these kinds of movies and properties seriously. I thought we were only gonna get solo Batman, Hulk, Spider-Man movies to the end of time. I gotta say in 2014 (at 38), I wish I was eight again. You can walk into any Walgreens and buy Walking Dead action figures, every Walmart has masks and toys, every channel has at least one funnybook movie or show running, and the video games!
