  1. You get movies like "The Amazing Spider-Man", "The Avengers" or "Iron Man 3" where the masks can cover up the face for better dubbing you have a recipe for success.
  2. Marvel/Disney is playing Chicken with WB/DC. that's the rumor but my only problem i have is i think Marvel has not thought what comes next after Ant-Man. It's part of the marketing game. Follow the trend. "Batman Triumphant" was already announced before "Batman & Robin" was even released. Ironically, we wouldn't see a Batman movie for eight years later. Thank God.
  3. Wish there wasn't such a need to cast well-known actors to better built international grosses. I like Dwayne Johnson, but he's in way too many franchises. The Gal Gabot/Fast&Furious connection alone with him is kinda . After Affleck, they should stick with unknowns, that can grow with the franchise while building on their roles making them their own (The Avengers). It's way too distracting to see a bunch of familiar faces in one of the kind of movies (Batman Forever, Batman & Robin, etc). My
  4. I'm not sure I agree with this. I have concerns with that thought process which has been mentioned in the past few articles. You have a creative team that knocked the ball out of the park, and established a $2.5 billion franchise. And you appease Snyder by ignoring the successful creative team? That would slightly Hollywood-nutty. Which means it is probably true. It just reminds if 1993 or so. ...where Tim Burton went to a WB meeting to discuss his vision for Batman Forever* and they decided they weren't interested and went with another director. Look how that turned out. Just because Affleck had a Best Picture doesn't mean he's most qualified for this. Kevin Costner had the same acclaim in 1990 with Dances With Wolves and still made The Postman. Nolan and Goyer earned my trust. They were doing great things in 2005 while Marvel was still churning out Elektras and Fantastic Fours. *from the Batman Returns commentary - available on DVD and Blu Ray.
  5. Well, it would be interesting. But it could be dangerous for both films. The first time a Batman - Superman - Wonder Woman live movie? Like Kevin Smith stated, the -script could be mediocre and this will still be a $500 MM movie. Outstanding -script with the joining of the Argo writer, and the revenue target goes much higher. plus remember RDJ only sign for Avengers 2 & 3 and i think he said sometime ago that he doesn't want to do only superheroes movies when his in his 50's. for Marvel to bring out iron man 4 out it would mean a new contract has to be sign with RDJ and more money to be giving him when that money can be invested else were. It also means more clout for RDJ to get his little "pet projects" greenlit, if he signs on the dotted line for more Tony Stark. Remember, he doesn't have to act in the smaller films. He might choose to produce instead. IM3 grossed over a $billion worldwide, so he's in driver's seat for now. If he wanted to develop a "Felicity" movie starring the late Leslie Nielson as Felicity through CGI, it would probably be frontloaded for July 4th weekend.
  6. I understand that folks on here want Warner Bros. to hear them "Roar" on the interweb over casting, but... we... have... to... wait... to see the actual finished product first. I remember when I thought the casting of the wonderful Halle Berry was a great idea for "Catwoman". Even though I respected Heath Ledger's body of films, I didn't think he could carry a summer blockbuster as a villain. I originally thought the costumes in Thor looked stoopid from the trailer. Etc, etc.
  7. I was expecting an intensely menacing genre actor, but in retrospect the casting of docilely calculating Eisenberg leaves me refreshingly surprised and wondering what the film makers are gonna do with the character now.
  8. Didn't say the muscles were tweaked in that one, but I'm pretty sure some of the costumes were enhanced digitally though.
  9. Hate to say this, but wasn't the Kryptonian clothing mostly digital in "Man of Steel"? Who is to say, some of her muscle structure can't altered too. I mean I just saw Digital Domain give a hapless girl a camel-toe effect in the movie "Detention", so anything is possible these days behind a computer.
  10. I thought the same thing, Sarah. I bet the $300K is based on the time she will be on screen this first go-around, which may be 15-20 minutes max. Agreed. It's very common for actors to see a pay increase for sequels. Tell that to Terrence Howard or Edward Norton.
  11. Being a huge serial fan, I know I have a "Green Archer" one. Not sure, if it was based on Green Arrow though.
  12. Bought the complete series to The Tick at Walmart today for $5 (brand new price crash). Can't wait to check it out.
  13. I can see Goyer going down this path to tie the characters together. Kara Zor-El? She's the
  14. I just hope we can see the final showdown between Superman and Doomsday, unlike the season long Smallville arc, that left you going "WTF?".
  15. NewEnglandGothic has always approved of this choice. (thumbs u I'm actually seeing the Hallmark Wonder Woman Christmas ornaments going up in price even.
  16. I was reading Dark Horse #36 (an un-named boardie sent a bunch of books to me), this morning and realized there was some Alien Vs. Predator stuff in it that predates the movie. It doesn't have to make the list, but I wanted to note it in the thread.
  17. I forgot about that one. And I watched that movie, too. My expectations were very low on that one. "Mannequin 2: Mannequin on the Move" low.
  18. Yeah, I was thinking of that one today. Watched Timecop instead. "Look at me. I'm still kicking. I must be on Broadway". Don't forget to add Kate Beckinsale's "Whiteout" movie based on the Greg Rucka graphic novel. It was a box-office bomb, but I liked it.
  19. Heroes might have this issue too. Those were only NBC promo comics released before (or after) the show. Then there's the debate of the Star Wars comic released before the first movie, that was based on the movie. But, depending on a "comic-influenced" ruling, I'd like to see Misfits of Science on the list if allowed. A lot of X-Men references were highlighted in that fondly remembered series of the 80's. But, it would open the door to "Manimal".
  20. The show on Nick? I didn't know it was based on a comic book. Not specifically. However, any superhero themed TV show or movie has to trace it's influence back to comic books. That's why, earlier in the thread, I nominated The Greatest American Hero TV show. Then why not Supah Ninjas? Why not indeed? I kinda enjoy it myself. But, then again when I was seven, I used to wear a black Halloween cape and a red T-shirt, under my plaid button up shirt when I went out, the way Ralph did on The Greatest American Hero. I thought that was the greatest show ever when I was a crazy little kid!
