  1. Moving on... After just watching the new SHIELD show, I found it watchable in an syndicated action show kinda way. It definitely wasn't what I was expecting. I thought it might be a little more grittier, like "Chronicle" for these behind the scenes guys. Not an overlit "Men in Black" (really, a flying car?) wannabe from Whedon. I'll keep up with it for now and hope it gets better like Dollhouse did.
  2. From some of the articles posted, even some of the Marvel executives are not clear on that one. And I would love to see Elektra again on film. Jennifer Garner - amazing. But the heavy focus on the wonderkid was too much for that -script, and not enough on Elektra. I hated it too, but I figured it was a simple screenwriter way of retelling how Elektra became the Treasure as a young girl through her eyes. I might be giving this film too much credit though. Kristen Pout, now most likely in "Lifetime Movie Hell" by now with no possible parole, was pretty confident that role you have to admit.
  3. Sheriff Buck (American Gothic) was one of my favorite TV show characters from my youth and I live in New Hampshire. Because of my love for rescuing small bizarre looking creatures, I thought the Fairpoint Bundle critter was a natural choice for an avatar on here.
  4. Don't forget Grave Tales 6. Also the skeleton key variant to Welcome to Lovecraft and pretty much all of the signed variants will be hard to come by. ...also keep in mind the colorized and slightly altered version of Grave Tales #6 appears in The Skeleton Ghost Key Variant to Welcome to Lovecraft (The Ghost Key made an appearance in Boom's Hellraiser #1 too). "Grave Tales 6" had a Goon cameo too.
  5. Lay it on me! I can't for the life of me find that stoopid list. But from memory: Besides these, Futuristic tales of the here and now 3 Snaked 2 Badger Saves the World 3 Doctor Who Classics 2, 2b Spider-Man Unlimited 8 There is... Angel: After The Fall #3 Star Trek: Intelligence Gathering #1 Star Trek: Borg Zipper #3 Speed Racer #1 ...and at least a couple more that came before the February 20th release date of Locke & Key. Doctor Who #1 and Gentleman Wormwood #2 came after, with previews. Plus, remember interior panels were altered in #1 first print by the trade (& DF Editions) to take out the Bode time travel storyline, in result the violence was toned down and Dodge's crown disappeared along with his/her creepy voice. The 2nd print still has the original panels though. This might make these issues a little more desirable in the long run.
  6. Lay it on me! I'll look for it this weekend. I have a pretty good idea where it is. It has release dates and print runs too. It was my next focus to include on the obverse slots of my Registry set.
  7. It's Snaked #2. Anyone want the complete list of preview books? I never posted it in the L&K thread. There's a few.
  8. The last #1 CGC 9.9 copy that was up for public sale went for $240, the one before that for $199. When NewEnglandGothic was selling off the last parts of his registry, he was blowing out non-key 9.9s for $30 and had to drop the price to $25 before they sold. Apart from someone hitting a $250 BIN on a #1 CGC 9.8 yesterday (hmm ... I wonder why), 9.8s have been selling for $100-150 pretty steadily - in this day & age of freshly-released Image #1s hitting $100 straight off the bat, I wouldn't exactly call that "big $$$". I didn't account for board sales, I only did ebay reverse search. I can't disagree with anything you've said, but I'm kind of irritated I was not informed of a $30 9.9 slab sale. That was a fun thread.
  9. I now the Spider-Man Unlimited Vol. 2 #8 is the first comic writing by Joe Hill. Though I don't know why a Locke and Key show/movie would be good for that book. I own a few myself, but don't know if it will gain any momentum ever. Research the Locke & Key Appreciation Thread here in Moderns. Some goofball in love with Locke & Key ( ) did an analysis (with pictures) on it's importance in the Locke & Key universe.
  10. Hi, I collected this series graded for a couple years before I started on Locke & Key. I can tell you the Grimm Fairy Tales Jay Company exclusive books have serious overhang from the front and back cover edges (being bigger than the actual book) that can easily be damaged (crushed, creased or bent) during encapsulation. Plus, if your book gets "shaken comic syndrome" and shifts in the holder, it's all over for a 9.8 . Maybe PGX's inner wells are better or they just want your money, it's not my place to say. But, I agree with CGC on this policy on not grading books with overhang.
  11. I posted these here before, but I was feeling sentimental. from Jen's collection.
  12. Never had a cat that actually enjoyed wearing an Santa outfit and hat.
  13. +1. Cats are awesome. On the negative side to some , Salem is a die hard Pats fan!
  14. "OK, Let's do a Salem CGC Sigline Family Picture!" "That was pretty good" "Wait! NOOOoooooo!!!"
