  2. I consigned my collection of almost $200k. Never regretted it, but have since dipped my toe in the collecting waters again. A large collection can be a financial boost for other endeavors and it can even rekindle the collecting spirit. Selling was rejuvenating!
  3. I always thought the perfect sig placement was on the case with the blue label intact. And while you are at it you can cross out those unsightly PQ and write your own in crayon.......
  4. Waiting for the OP’s post on how angry he is about his “9.8’s” getting hammered queue the
  5. Pretty much this Reams of modern drek gumming up the works Raise prices
  6. This thread needs a calmer tone. So how about 'pressing' as the new subject......
  7. Just got this book back, and couldn’t be happier Those that know me and my collection know I like all the tough ASM bronze variants. Well take my word on it, the ASM #165 Whitman is the toughest of them all in high grade.
  8. Not that it correlates with publish date, but in Marvel Comics continuity, it takes place right before MTU 53. On the splash page of MTU 53 the new X-men are with Spider-man post Annual #1
  9. @ThothAmon Love the new cover Marvel Tales books, sweet 9.8 Congrats!
  10. Any chance those 9.6/9.4 books went to ‘Voldemort’ for a more lenient opinion?
  11. The fact that the founder there was at the helm at CGC when the whole Ewert thing went down gives zero confidence that they ‘suddenly got religion’ and can now detect restoration. The guy either aided and abetted Ewert or can’t detect restoration. Neither possibility is a winning look for the new company
  12. There is an ongoing thread here looking for graders The problem may lie in the location? If it is like nursing, the state is known for wage suppression and lousy working conditions. During these ‘COVID’ times hospitals everywhere complain about a nursing shortage. Well there is no shortage here, in fact there is a long wait list to get in. Something about highest wages and guaranteed ratios that brings the workers Funny how that works. Has anyone looked at the job openings? Lots of great graders in the forums here, would anyone want to work for CGC for what they pay?
  13. Maybe they need competition Maybe they will be getting competition?
  14. I think there is marked difference pre-code and code There was considerable creativity prior to the code dumbing down the stories. This was most marked by the horror books but plenty spill over into hero books. Money being an obvious obstacle, I would say the pre code stand up in any era.
  15. I heard Tom Brady reads modern comics - now get with the GOAT
  16. What are the census numbers? Looks like a couple of ‘completionists’ bidding against each other to complete their run. The winner here is the underbidder. 100 copies on the way to CGC right now as we speak The market will be flooded and normalcy will return
  17. Sell those bad boys and get yourself some new sneakers
  18. Sold my ASM run a couple of years ago So happy to add this to my latest attempt at the run
  19. Had these on consignment, but they did not sell Happy to have them back in the collection
