  1. (thumbs u Yes you can! A-MEN! Nice book, I don't think you can ever go wrong with a single digit supes!
  2. nah, I am not a high grade guy by nature... I might have had 1 or 2 here or there, but not on purpose Gotcha
  3. Hey Gator - got any 9.0's+ early Tec's ?
  4. Never cared for scarecrow all that much until I saw Batman Begins.
  5. Let's see more eclectic examples from everyone's collection. I have lots of unusual stuff. This is an unused French game board chromolithograph (22 x 30") from the early 1900's that was found in a printer's archive. Anyone else have anything to share? That's very cool! (thumbs u Sadly I don't have much else to share other than comics and old magazine/newspapers.
  6. I always like to look at the bright reds and blues against the black backround on this issue --- good choice and great book!! Gorgeous book! Agree on the great and vivid colors! Nice pick up!
  7. great cover (thumbs u
  8. Awesome book (thumbs u
  9. if I am going for value, I take the Bat 1. But, I'm not a big Robin fan (Joker is cool--but he was taken from stories original intended for Tec comics anyway) and I prefer the pure, Dark Knight---solo style
  10. I am pretty sure someone said it would be around 3K for a coverless one yep, there were multiple response I believe, in that neighborhood (thumbs u In my defense, it IS the end of the marking period and my seniors are draining the brainpower out of me with all of their blasted neediness. That being the case, I find it really interest as well because a .5 PR copy of Batman runs about the same price. Now, if you remove the defining characteristic of the Tec 31's value (the cover), do you think it SHOULD be worth the same as a book the contains the first appearances of Batman's two most important villains? Tec 31 is a cover driven book 1st, and interior value 2nd. If the 31 cover was ho hum ("normal"), I'd say the 29 and 33 and 35 would be valued at more across in all grades... Really? No offense to 29, 33 (except the origin), and 35. All have great stories. But personally 31/32 has the best pre-robin story in my opinion. A two part story that ends with Batman shooting his enemies in cold blood to finish them off once and for all. the 31 story is GREAT. Better than the 33 Bat story. The 31 would not be valued as it is today (or as coveted IMO) if it did not have that castle cover. I never really thought about it before in those terms. But I agree that the cover makes it. All the top Pre-Robins are based off which one has a Bats cover and even then the stars are 29 and 31 with 35 as the rising star. But luckily we do not have to wonder whether or not 31 would be what it is without the cover. Because lucky for us the 31 does have the defining Bat cover and an incredible story. Besides 27, 31 is hands down my 2nd most desired Tec of them all! (thumbs u
  11. not sure it is undervalued...heck, it has been higher valued in the guide for 20+ years just for that reason the difference today is that books are encased in cgc holders, so the content seems to count for less, and the cover more...hence, 29 and 31 are now both passing 33 by Fully agree with this. Covers rule the day when we collect slabbed books. And for Tec 33 - I feel it should be on the same level as say 29 or 31 (or less) because yes it is the origin but heck the story following is the worst of the pre robins in my opinion.

  13. I could really see that happening. It makes sense. If I had a coverless copy I would pay top dollar for the cover. For any coverless copy I own I would pay more for the cover than I did for the interior, as it would seem covers are harder to come by then interiors. I know a front cover only (no back cover attached) to Tec 35 sold for $1,500 a little while back on heritage. Lot a variables with "parts" especially for key issues.

  15. It has not been posted in this thread yet so I will do it. It needs to be stated here too! Detective Comics #27 CGC 8.0 realized a final value of $1,075,500.00 Making it the highest sale ever! Batman rules the day (at this time anyway)
  16. Nice Book! (thumbs u And whoo!!!
  17. (thumbs u And wow there was a captain marvel 1 and tec 28 when you went?!?! When I went all they had as far as monster grails were the action 1, tec 27, aa16, and adventure 40, and af 15! Which are amazing anf fulfilling but nothing else of note was there. I was hoping to see some more fun's or the pre robin run. nope. must have had them out, I know he switches up the displays.
  18. extensively restored in the vf range (thumbs u When I first saw it, I could tell something was very "artificial" with it. It just screams restored. Looks real and glorious just it is apparent there was resto. Same with his other books there. Would I take them in a heart beat with resto? You bet your sweet aunt susy! Here is an "aerial" view
  19. Detective Comics #27 from Geppi's Museum in Baltimore. (photos taken by yours truly) Anyone know the grade on this bad boy? Or any history around it with Geppi?
  20. CATMAN! Nice! (also love the cat in the background!)
  21. I need the front cover to Fantastic Four (1961) #1 and the Covers to Detective Comics #32
