  1. Frank Miller has done some great covers/ books. This is my all time favorite cover.
  2. I’m a copper head. I stopped collecting in the late 90’s then picked the hobby up again in 2007. There were two books which dragged me back into the hobby. Primarily due to the cover art: New Avengers #27, and Red Sonja #13 (Dynamite). I loved the cover of New Avengers, and recently discovered CGC, along with the signature series program. I got the book signed in 2009 by cover artist Lenin Yu. Subsequently, the whole Hawkeye /Ronin hype showed up. All of a sudden, the book picked up some steam (which later died out). I remember when my book was the only signature series book on the census in a 9.8. Now, there are 16. No doubt due to the Endgame hype. Question: does the date of signature have any meaning to you as a signature collector? Do you feel the need to have the earliest signed copy of a book? BTW: I believe my copy is the earliest signature, so i challenge anyone to post an earlier signature.
  3. “…you are wearing a highly evolved symbiote… a sentient being which has attached itself to you both mentally and physically!”
  4. Decided to get something a little less common…
  5. The story for Marvel-Two-In-One #100 was full of stuff that gave me nightmares as a kid. One of my favorite panels/ pages was this one. Signed by DeFalco. “Galactus went through em’ like nobody’s business…” sheesh…
  6. Just secured a 9.6. It will look great with the new custom label!
  7. First appearance of Venom/ Eddie Brock.
  8. My thoughts exactly. Additionally, why spend unnecessary cash for this book? It’s valued/ so expensive solely due to the cover. Not due to anything inside the book. I want a nice looking copy signed, but don’t want to spend hundreds. What’s a guy to do? Just grab a nice enough looking copy, and submit the cover for signature.
  9. Yes! The splash pages! Can’t see that awesome lettering, artwork and colors with the cover. That’s a great first page!
  10. While I applaud the work and time you put into this book, the thread is for NG, CVR, and PG designations. Again, this looks great, though!
  11. Wow! You guys have been posting some great pieces! Unconditional love for the book, story, art, etc. No grade chasing in this thread! keep them coming!
  12. My ex-girlfriend: your Kawasaki ZX6R is so dumb. My co-worker: drinking Scotch neat is so dumb. My Neighbor: graded comics are so dumb. My conclusion: some people are so dumb they would not know a good piece if it sat on their face.
  13. It’s still in the mail. Should arrive early this week. I’ll be sure to post when I get it.
  14. Great minds think alike! Although, I went a slightly different route. I wanted the side where Venom appears in front of MJ in front. So, I had Todd sign that side. Also went with the Venom custom label.
  15. Individual Page (PG), CVR, and NG certification. Universal, Signature, Restored, Qualified…Post your certified labels here.
  16. I understand your disappointment. I’ve been through it myself. Check the link to the thread detailing my crash and burn. I’ve been there. That said, don’t let that stop you from sending in books. I’ve sent a ton of books to be signed and they’ve mostly retained or received a higher grade. I might have 3 crash and burn examples. However, I’ve had far more success stories. Bottom line, it’s a gamble. You’ve got to be willing to take the loss in an effort to reach the highest example of success. That gamble is what makes Signature series books so coveted.
  17. Outstanding. I’ll take this over a signed #299 any day!
