I stopped buying from The Artist's Choice a long time ago but more recently stopped visiting Romitaman's site as well. I just didn't like the revelations/discussions that came out last year or so about what looked like shilling and such. I was a bit dismayed at one of the last comic art cons to see that he had a MCP Sam Kieth piece prominently displayed and I would like to own one in the future; I hesitated about even going over to see it but in the end decided I would just gauge the price for future comps and made a quick fly-by. I haven't consciously made a hard and fast decision on him really but no longer read his email announcements or visit his site looking for art to buy. I have enjoyed buying from him on time payments in the past and it hurts a bit to let that go but I think that I have moved on. Maybe posting this will make the decision more rigid, especially if he sees it and doesn't like it! (I know there are collectors who like to alert artists & dealers & reps to these things, out of the kindness in their hearts of course!)

Suggest a consignment arrangement instead maybe, with a straight percentage going to the dealer. Take a video of the box contents to mark what you have in there and make sure that he is responsible for anything no longer there, be it from theft or sales.

I was under the impression you could get 10% for $10K and 0% for $20K but that info was gleaned from reading these boards, not directly from HA (although HA may have told me about the $20K threshhold, I am not sure). I would also like to know "for sure" if anyone here can shed some light on the subject.

that would be a great price for BA12 9.6, which is valued about $200 more than the ASM 129 3.5. The BA12 goes for around $750 in that condition but no, I would not give up a $750 9.6 for a $540 3.5 even if it is ASM129.

just do your best. I put in the value of the raw books and even if they end up beyond the value of the tier I have not had an issue. They can move a book up a tier but I have not had that happen to me. I put all moderns in the modern tier, even my NM98 that came back 9.8 and it has not been an issue. It is for insurance purposes as well as pricing so keep that in mind as well.

I started a thread in copper modern today and will add some miniseries as the week goes on. On Thursday evening I will add the books in the following pictures (some are high grade and some are not). If any of these are copper they may not get listed (I am not too good with the dates of them all in my head). I will be listing more than just this but wanted to give some heads up on the above keys/semi-keys/groovy books! Hopefully I will see some of you on Thursday!
