Great report!… Kind of off topic, does anyone know if Harley has a personal collection or does every comic that comes through his hands have a price?

Dabbled in some amateur heat pressing

Nice results -
I won two books and payed for them at the same time…do they normally send them separately?…I received one today and the invoice shows just that one book…haven’t gotten the fedex tracking for the other…

Are prices still climbing or have they eased up a bit???
JTD replied to InfantTerrible's topic in Comics General
Or it could be an entirely different book… -
Probably need to combine your sales threads.

You need to combine your threads…unless something has changed around here…

Beware: Fake high value CGC books being sold in the Spokane, WA, area. Saw this on Facebook. An experienced comic dealer of 40 years was sold a fake CGC Hulk #1 and Captain America #1 and didn't discover it until he had the slabs cracked. Once he put the information out there a fellow dealer discovered that the GSX1 and Hulk 181 he bought from the same guy were also fake. Here's the link to his Facebook post. It's (currently) in two parts. I imagine part 3 might be coming shortly. https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid02b7fNDNomBXzbnXYpLss8NMf5Up4PSjMgxbWK3pvGBmRj769DFMJPcL2JCbrAFnq8l&id=100048098476162&mibextid=Nif5oz&_rdr

Good for you Mike…I went from 7 long boxes down to 5 graded comics over the last 2 years…I thought I would have sellers remorse, but don’t at all…sold them all to 3 different buyers…I started collecting in 1980…

Rant: Graded 9.8's that aren't 9.8's
JTD replied to Bluefear's topic in Comic Book Grading and Restoration Issues
Can you explain why you think this about the dead giveaway for being pressed?…I’ve don’t recall ever reading anything about this phenomena…genuinely curious… -
I did the same thing in the last year or so…I’m actually down to 5 slabs from 3500 books…thought I would have seller’s remorse, but surprisingly do not…

Don’t know about recent turn around times, but have have always been very pleased with CFP/Joeypost…very good with any Q&A you may have also…

Inner sleeve of graded comics not secure
JTD replied to ComicGuyROC's topic in Comic Book Grading and Restoration Issues
Long time lurker, I see…technically, they are safe as long as they are sitting in a box somewhere not moving or being mailed…I would call them again and ask for a manager…I haven’t seen any recent books that noticeably move around…I would think persistence will pay off eventually… -
I would gladly have pitched in 5K with 20 to 30 others just to own a piece of one of these keys…in 10 years you may net a 200% ROI…we should have organized it and passed it around every quarter or so…

May be a bindery chip...they certainly weren’t gonna dock that on this collection...your cover looks structurally better, but the 9.6 is more aligned...personally I like your old copy better, at least on initial appearance...

I get where you are coming from, but the value is what it is…I understand rarity, provenance and historical relevance, which PL17 has in spades…everything is worth what someone will pay for it…both MS5 and GSX1 are in higher demand in 9.8, I don’t care how many copies there are…There are no Phantom Lady movies, toys or comics to bring in new interests…yes GSX1 grow on trees, but at market value the demand outweighs the supply…I was born in 1968 and have always been a Bronze fan, but I would take a that PL17 over a MS5 9.6 any day, but not over a 9.8…on a side note, I enjoy browsing the Gold sub more than than any other due to the knowledge you guys have and I’m looking forward to see the hammer prices of this collection!

Incredible Hulk #181 - is it *that* red-hot?
JTD replied to Getoutandstayout's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
The value of IH 181 is simply supply and demand...they are very liquid and in demand, more so than the Batman’s you mentioned...if you have 3M of something and 4M people want them, it drives prices higher...economics 101...like anything else, it’s value is what someone is willing to pay for it...
