  1. Cream!! To own an Action # 1 & one that looks that nice , a Jewel in your collection.
  2. Tough!! Your not kidding. I've never seen those books ever for sale myself, like Win. But patience is the Key for me ,sooner or later...I Hope!! Awesome books Jon as always. BTW do you know who the cover artist were on those 2 books ? Gill Fox did the 1st Keen Detective cover "# 8" The perspective on that one is odd to say the least . Could you or Centaurman post that one if you get a chance if you haven't already. Seeing these books in the Gerbers are one thing ,seeing nice scans are even better.
  3. Win , excellent . Keep posting , This is stuff you never see or hardly at all. I never get tired of seeing your collection . I love this early era of comics esp. the 30's to the early 40's . Those comics are true Gold!!
  4. Brian , Thanks for sharing your memories . I also remember like Paul said, Nick's auctions in CBG. You & Nick had some Amazing books back then. Very sorry to hear that about Nick Kronfeld. He must have felt alot of pressure on himself. I know , I lost a best Friend to drugs some years ago also . So sad & tragic.
  5. Fuelman, You hit the Jackpot!! What a Great & I mean Great, selection of books you picked up.. Hey , they're Centaurs, Gotta love'em!! Congrats, again!!
  6. Great stuff, as always!! I really like the # 21 cover.
  7. I would buy those kinda books all day long , depending on the money. Here's another Keen Detective Funnies art done by Ken Ernst who went on to do the Mary Worth comic strip.
  8. What a cool book , own one myself. Scarce also , & you own the Church copy!! It don't get better then that my friend. A Beauty!!! Congrats ,
  9. AMF vol. 1 # 3 your's is a Killer book!! Uncle Joe's Funnies , I purchased about 2 years ago . your right , it is small . It's a totally cool book though. I think , & I may be wrong , but when Centaur folded it started publishing crossword mags & continued into the 1950's. I read that somewhere or heard it ,can't remember. It was definately different, Uncle Joe's Funnies "one shot" for Centaur. Scarce book ,would you agree??
  10. Win, AMF# 1 what a great book!! I picked one up myself about a year ago in VG+ !! Here's a # 2 from my collection. Bill Everett's 1st art inside & out , it maybe tied with Uncle Joe's Funnies "Everett art on cover" which I also have. These early Centaurs ,esp. Everett kick @#$!!!
  11. Jon, great stuff as always. I never tire of seeing the books you post. Always informative & comics you just don't ever see, if rarely!! Thanks!!
  12. I have that book . what a great book if you love Cole , I agree totally!! Recommended!! should be in everybody's collection if you love Jack Cole.
  13. Welcome to the boards. & count me in , I will definately buy this book when it comes out. Keep us posted.
  14. I'll have to post my Mystery Men # 10 sometime when I can scan it . I agree those 1st 10 issues have the best covers. Here's another Fox book , maybe Point Five can post his # 2 ,scarcer then #1 IMO!!
  15. I feel the same way . couldn't said it better. Don't get me wrong I love my near complete Silver Age Marvel & I have alot of silver DC , but in the last 12 years I've really love collecting Golden Age more because of the History, Rare & or Scarcity of the books. The thrill of the hunt can't be beat,& when you finally aquire one of those grails....
  16. Ryan , you have awonderful collection. It might not be big , but what you have is rare and or scarce & truly nice books. Then again I'm Biased because I collect Centaurs & love 'em also. ] I am looking forward to seeing some samples from those books.... i read your comments in another thread about SPACE SMITH i think... same artist?? I gots Just to keep on track, here is the second half of my collection... pretty sad, i can fit all my comics in two photos!! Oh well, gotta start somewhere. I've got a few on the way. My pulp collection is way bigger (they are also generally WAY cheaper than G.A. comics!!).
  17. Centaurman , your collection is truly Astounding!! & what you said about colecting those books over Silver in the highest grade , I couldn't agree more!!
  18. I love Wonderworld # 7 it's one of my fave's in my collection. Lou Fine shined on that one! Since you posted yours here's # 8 to go with it which I also think is a killer cover.
  19. Awesome thread. I have some Fox books I can contribute. To me they truly represent Golden Age . You have Lou fine , George Tuska , Henry Kiefer "underated IMO!" BobPowell , Briefer. to name a few. The covers were Sublime!! esp. the early years as you guys say . I totally agree. Here's the 1st Blue Beetle cover of this title. It may have come out before his own series , not sure . I would have to check.
