  1. They are comic flippers. They buy stuff at auction at low prices and either list the books as BIN, or try to auction them off with a better description and get a good return. They likely press books, not sure. I've gotten some CGC books off them, fast shipping, I couldn't complain.
  2. I'm in talks to buy a set of these books from Issac Elliot-Fisher, the guy that's working on the TMNT documentary at turtledocs.com. You guys know these books are so rare, so I have 2 concerns. 1: How do I best authenticate the books, other than verifying the seller is the real Issac that has done the documentary? The guys got a ton of video and pics of him with Kevin and Peter, if anyone could get a copy from one of them, it would be him. 2: How do I maintain the bloodline post-sale? I don't have a connection with anyone other than the dent the transaction will put in my savings to show they are real. I have a couple pics of the books so far, should be getting more later today, so if there is any part of the book that would be best to look at, please let me know! These pics are huge, but the books deserve it.
  3. I tried to contact Issac about the books, but haven't gotten a response. Anyone hear back from him?
  4. I think they don't offer gift cards because they would have to slab them so we know we aren't getting restored gift cards That would be cool tho, a slabbed certificate good for 1 slab! I know my family would have gotten me some certs if they were available to be put on my list.
  5. E-bay should make bidders have the money in an escrow type account before bidding to assure they have the money.
  6. As far as I can tell, the logic is that eBay wants to coddle buyers as much as possible with the promise of no consequences so they come spend money on the site. It has made selling even more problematic. As a buyer who always pays ASAP so I get my books ASAP, I like that rule! Stops me from having to worry about a retalitory NEG.
  7. Detective Comics (issues 1-859), thats the torrent I found last week, cover-to-cover scans of EVERY book, all packed into CBR files. Those copies are better than my Batman Chronicals for re-prints since they include the ads with the scans. There is a complete Batman archive torrent out there as well. Its nice to be able to actually read some of the books I own
  8. Cool room. You should get window covering as that sun will fade those comics really fast. Just my advice. Enjoy! I just saw in Home Depot that they have UV filter window shades. Lets the light in, but blocks the UV rays, Pretty pricey tho, about $170 for an average window. Pricey, but it won't take long to burn off $170 worth of value from nice books if left in the sun.
