  1. Wolverine #102.5 signed by Julie Bell, Dan Slott, and Boris Vallejo Purchased raw in 2011. This book was part of the same large collection that yielded my New Mutants #98 9.6. I never knew this particular book existed. Saw Julie and Boris were attending a show and figured it would be cool to have their signatures. Then I got the hairbrained idea to add Dan Slott who was also there. (If I could do it over I would not add Dan Slott) That's the story. It exists in my personal collection because it is an oddball book with an awesome cover.
  2. My recently submitted (and CLEARLY labeled) Mechanical Error took 11 business days to be marked as received after it was delivered. It has been 'Scheduled for Grading' for 26 business days. CGC has had the book to correct their error regarding a label for 37 business days and counting... Shipped 11/1 Delivered 11/2 (1 business day later / 1 day total) Scheduled for Grading 11/17 (11 business days later / 12 days total) Some claims were made by @CGC Mike that Mechanical Errors were expedited, but that doesn't seem to be the case at all. (see below link to a post yesterday with slow track modern with 12 business day turnaround) Also, check out this thread.
  3. Only one comic related purchase this year. Marvel's Avengers #1 signed by Robert Downey Jr.

  5. AND then once your ME makes it to CGC be prepared for it to languish for days, weeks, and months... Why? I don't know. FACTS My recently submitted (and CLEARLY labeled) Mechanical Error took 11 business days to be marked as received after it was delivered. It has been 'Scheduled for Grading' for 21 business days. Meaning CGC has been correcting their error for 32 business days and counting... edit for context: They need to correct the label
  6. Watchmen #1 signed by Dave Gibbons Purchased already signed / graded in 2021. This is (currently) the last book in my Alan Moore collection my overall collection. I've got my eyes on one more, but it isn't prudent. There's nothing I can add to the conversation about this series that hasn't been shared before. It is a masterpiece.
  7. Day 26 (of 38 total) of my Mechanical Error from the Paul Dini signing being stuck at Scheduled for Grading...
  8. The Walking Dead #48 signed by Charlie Adlard and Robert Kirkman 'Lori' remarque by Charlie Adlard Purchased raw 2011 - 2012 The Walking Dead got me back into comics. I watched a video on G4 of their Comic-Con coverage where they spoke to Robert Kirkman about the series and this issue. So I downloaded all the CBRs I could and tore through them. This issue was...surprising. That being said, I quit The Walking Dead at issue #100. I had every issue (except #1) and variant (including the #35 error variant in 9.8) up to issue 99. Why did I stop (and sell everything except this one)? Because of Negan killing Glenn in #100. I would have been fine if it had been done in #99 or #101. But to create such a frenzy over #100 to have it be the death of a beloved character was *messed* up. This comic was a part of a series I had prearranged with Charlie Adlard prior to his appearance at Florida Supercon in 2011. The others he completed that day were of: Judith, Hershel, and Tyrese. My thought being that I would build this sketch collection out to include everyone had to bury along the way. Issue #100 put a stop to that plan... I've kept this book as a reminder of how any one thing could reignite a dormant passion.
  9. Better question is how long will the book you sent in due to a Mechanical Error take to get back to you...
  10. Two weeks to fix THEIR mistake? Check out this thread...CGC isn't even opening up the clearly marked ME boxes within two weeks... My current ME submission took 12 business days to move from delivered to SFG. It has now been at SFG for 11 business days. Meaning, my book that CGC's quality control failed has been back with them for 23 business days. Facts.
  11. V for Vendetta #1 signed and remarqued by David Lloyd Purchased raw in 2014. First and foremost, this book would not have been possible without Rich Henn. He shared a booth / table with David Lloyd which helped in facilitating the remarque. As shared previously shared, I have curated a mini Alan Moore collection within my overall collection. This is the next to last piece of it. Currently... I realized the other day I have another one I want to add.
  12. Updating my wish list posted in 2021 to the following - Alan Moore Bryan Lee O'Malley
  13. This is false. It took 12 business days for my VERY clearly marked ME box to be received / scheduled for grading. That is 71% longer than it took my most recent (not FT) modern submission to be received and shipped back to me. This thread has illustrated that there are areas of improvement in CGC's process that need to be addressed. (please see below) September Modern Slow Boat ShipmentReceived 09/08 Scheduled for Grading 09/08Credit Card Charged 09/09 (1 business day later / 1 business day total)Grading / Quality Control 09/14 (3 business days later / 4 business days total)Shipped 09/19 (3 business days later / 7 business days total) Paul Dini Signing Mechanical Error SubmissionShipped 11/1Delivered 11/2 (1 business day later / 1 day total)Scheduled for Grading 11/17 (11 business days later / 12 days total) edit: I must add the data point that it has been 9 additional business days (total 21 business days so far) since my item went into scheduled for grading. A ME that was a result of CGC's error has now been there 200% longer than my last submission. Multiple areas of opportunity at CGC.
  14. Agreed. Which is why I want to ask the question of CGC Leadership. There doesn't appear to be any hurry to correct them.
  15. @CGC Mike Honest Questions for CGC Leadership - What turnaround tier should Mechanical Errors fall under and why?
  16. Yeah. Saw an article about it on Bleeding Cool. Immediately checked my DCBS account to make sure it showed as in my awaiting shipment. Then checked eBay... Then I had to come back here and credit @Crops068 for the original scoop.
  17. Shout out to this post! I immediately ordered it that evening...just in case. Currently shows as in my next DCBS shipment.
  18. Ultimate Fallout #4 Purchased already graded in 2019. I was late to the party regarding Miles Morales. Initially, I believed he and Spider-Gwen (aka Ghost Spider) to be cheap ploys at inclusivity. I ignored all the posts on the boards regarding picking up copies. Even ignored it when the 1:25 variants started popping up in various bundles. Again, it wasn't my thing. Then Into The Spider-Verse came out and I was blown away. I was wrong. They weren't trying to replace Peter Parker. Just expand the Spider-Verse. Luckily, I purchased my copy before the book truly exploded. It was fueled by a new PlayStation game, speculation Miles would be in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Into the Spider-Verse sequels. The price shot up and has settled back down.
  19. Thank you for your response. Deeply appreciated. Is there a way to perform a search based on signer's name? For example, pull data for Stan Lee signature series prices.
  20. Question for the brain trust from someone that does not have GPA. My personal collection is over 75% Signature Series. Is there a way to search by signature?
  21. Is it possible to purchase a book from a major distributor without it being reported to GPA? Meaning, can the buyer ask that it not be included?
  22. Curious whether CGC will grade any others after the initial 300... How will they handle SS opportunities regarding these?
  23. Tank Girl #1 Signed by Jamie Hewlett and Alan Martin - Top 10 BookPurchased raw between 2013 - 2014. First and foremost, I must give credit to Branget for facilitating this. They were the one that reached out to me regarding my post in the Signature Room. (see second photo below) Without them this book (and its twin) would not exist. As it stands, the two completed for this Signature Series opportunity are the only two copies signed by the creators. What happens and how does it feel when you acquire a unicorn grail? What do I consider a 'unicorn' grail?Something that you want / dream about / desire more than anything else BUT it may never actually happen. It doesn't come down to just having the money to buy it, but also 'the stars aligning'. It is hard to describe what this book means to me to other people. I dreamt about owning a signed copy of Tank Girl #1 for decades before it became a possibility / reality. What I wasn't prepared for was that it made all other comics not matter anymore. It is a strange feeling to not care or feel joy connected with to one's passion after such a massive 'win'. Additionally, no level of joy or happiness outside of comics can / has matched the joy from acquiring this comic. (I can feel happiness, but not joy) Eventually, I started visiting the boards less and less which lead a lapse of 2 years of visiting / posting here between 2016 - 2018. It was good to reconnect to life, discover new passions, and determine what matters. In total it took about four years after receiving this book to realize that I needed to establish a new collecting goals. Addendum - In recent years I have decided that upon my death I want to be cremated. I'd like a bonfire held. Then I want this book and a few others (after cracked out of their cases) thrown into the bonfire. Then my ashes tossed in too. All so that my ashes, the comics, and the fire could join together to create new energy for the universe. No one will ever love this book more than I do....
  24. Answer is yes. Finally entered. Paul Dini Signing Mechanical Error Submission Shipped 11/1 Delivered 11/2 (1 business day later / 1 day total) Scheduled for Grading 11/17 (11 business days later / 12 days total)
  25. 1 - Golden Age - 1 Uni 3 - Silver Age - 1 SS / 2 Uni 5 - Bronze Age - 2 SS / 3 Uni 15 - Copper Age - 11 SS / 4 Uni 25 - Modern Age - 24 SS / 1 Uni edit: There are copies of books in my collection that haven't had copies sold / been made available since I started tracking values in 2019. That is the toughest part of determining value for insurance purposes. Those values have carried over month after month, year after year.
