  1. Agreed - nice looking Hulk. I thorough in an early bid and it was quickly squashed with the bidding frenzy at the start of these auctions being the norm
  2. Bidding is certainly for the artist and character but not in totality. I would not look at the JSC auction and say that the price is based purely on his name and the character. A huge driver here is the fundraiser. I would presume that the early and heaving bidding is done by those who have a max bid in mind and are willing to chase the price up early to benefit the cause of the fundraiser. I would not see it as second thoughts (although possible in any auction scenario), rather more than one bidder pushing the price where they are willing to pay early (due to the fundraiser) than they might if it was not for charity (and getting is as cheap as possible being their primary motivation).
  3. If you bought a piece you really love (not primarily for investment, etc.), that feeling will fade increasingly with time as you will only see the piece and continue to appreciate it.
  4. So do these stamps add value or make them less valuable? Anyone get a copy graded? Seen one graded?
  5. I hope he does a piece that will appeal to the widest potential buyer audience.
  6. Yeah, I am quickly learning I am not alone in the AA wait Trophy wall?
  7. Yep - I am waiting on Art as well - maybe 4 years Lots of artists pitching in - love the ground swell resulting from Jim Lee's huge commitment to the comic shops.
  8. Jim is really running with the non Bat-family stuff - seems like he is really enjoying these requests. Additional artists continue to pitch in for the cause - see below and I expect this list to continue to grow Art Adams Bryan Hitch Ivan Reis Rafael Alburquerque J Scott Campbell Ron Garney Art Adams, part duex Joe Bennett Tony Daniels
  9. One of my faves as well! Congrats @rsonenthal!
  10. Great article about a great collection. Congrats Chris! Kind of crazy that you found it this way ... I wonder how long it would have been if not for the google search? Thanks for sharing!
  11. Proud to announce that Joe Bennett has agreed to join the fundraiser! https://www.instagram.com/p/B--SOiYnlNJ/
  12. That FF 200 page is in the grail-ish category for me as the DOOM and his son arc was a huge all time and nostalgic favorite. I don't see that fitting the category of what I thought this thread was for. Sounds like it is up the poster to determine the criteria for the piece but I was thinking more along the lines of "what piece in your collection is worth far less than ANYONE would ever likely have to pay to ory it out of your collection" The piece that has far more worth to me due to sentiment/memory attached to it. I will have to put some thought to what piece in my collection fits that description.
  13. Love this page! I still need to add a nice page from the early part of the JRjr/Layton run
  14. I have no clue to the intent of the Netflix producer ... but I think it is entirely possible that the watermark was not seen. It is barely visible. I looked for it multiple times and didn't see it and even when you magnified and I went back I can barely see it. I would suggest making a more visible watermark and on more of the actual art if this is a primary concern for you.
  15. Thanks for sharing the details. Can you show the watermark?
  16. And I can't help but keep coming back to the artist and license holder being credited. This is far more of an important omission than the watermarked photo IMHO
  17. Can it survive? Of course it can Will it survive? I think so What will it look like? Time will tell. Change might be good. Maybe Diamond loses their monopoly grip which could be a very good thing. Are you worried about it? No, got bigger fish to fry at present and I think it will sort itself out.
  18. Not sure what I would do but I would not be inclined to take legal action. I would reach out and assume an oversight and let them know that you were the photographer. I would also seek to credit the artist of the piece. You both should be credited. Not sure about compensation, I would have no clue how that should go. Most importantly, which piece is it and what is the Netflix series and episode so we can go view it?
  19. On IG EDIT: I inadvertently didn’t change the default 10% going to charity to the 95% I’ve done on other auctions. Regardless, the full 95% money will be donated to BINC as they will provide a receipt of total funds which I will share at the midpoint and also at the very end.

  21. Sharing does not equate to bragging I know Grant (a bit) and bragging is the last word I would use to describe his posting of artwork
  22. I had a similar experience with this guy. Grrr
  23. I had the same thought so I started a spreadsheet in true Alex Johnson form
  24. Jim's 60 will be DC only and I think he will only accept requests that are worthy of being published by DC. I do wonder if he will have to refuse any requests.
