  1. I also see both sides of the equation on this. I actively seek pages from Hulk 227 and have had a great experience where a fellow collector pointed me in the direction of a page that I was able to secure. I also became aware of a page that was listed at several multiples of FMV with an increasing price per inquiry. Needles to say, I bought one page and passed on the other. I am attempting to put a full book together and have left it off CAF until I am successful or give up the hunt. I also seek pages from another story arc and am much less public about it
  2. I was very curious about this once upon a time and I have spoken with several collectors over the years that actually subscribe to the fresh theory. I have a lot of art not on CAF but not due to a goal of freshness.
  3. Saw him Saturday as well and set up a commission. He's at a lot of shows and very accessible.
  4. That post is severely lacking in the details department
  5. What is the ID? They have multiple eBay IDs.
  6. I would not buy anything from these clowns. Another level of unbelievable here. Has anyone pointed this out to JB?
  7. That was my initial thought as well. I was just happy to hear that Itoya makes portfolios large enough for DPS, fitting mylar in as well would be a great bonus but I can live without it if not possible.
  8. Good question. I am interested as well. I would love to learn that there is a portfolio solution that can handle not only the art but a mylar as well. And thanks for the info - heading over to check it out now.
  9. Great info - thanks. Are there portfolios out there for DPS pieces as well? I have a few and would keep them folded up in regular portfolios. I would love to get them in mylar and in a portfolio where I can see them laid out complete.
  10. I tried to come up with something clever as a way to include the Ham part but I drew a blank.
  11. Yep, same here. I like my eggs green.
  12. I agree. My guess is that it is someone who has nostalgia for the original story and the budget to buy this page. Probably some rationalizing that great cover/splash images from the original DK story sell for multiples of the cost of this page so it has to be a good investment (or replacement). I just can’t see anyone having an emotional attachment for a new story that drives them to spend this much.
  13. Another great podcast. I listen to these podcasts and haven’t met most of the people that are interviewed but I realize I have probably been standing shoulder to shoulder with many of them at cons, etc. and would never know it (including you Felix before my son and I met you at Heroes last year). I think it would be a cool idea to take a snapshot of the crew being interviewed as part of the published podcast as a way to put a face(s) with the name (collection).
  14. I also lucked out on a nice splash that got out before the damage happened
  15. This is probably going to always be a "it depends" scenario as damage can vary widely. Many of Carlo's Pagulayan's Planet Hulk pages have water/moisture spots from the big tsunami that hit his area many years ago. It didn't stop me from picking up a few pages from those issues due to my extreme appreciation of the story. That said, I know several people that also enjoyed the story but didn't want anything to do with the pages. It also depends on cost - how much is the page discounted due to the damage?
  16. I was eyeing this one with interest as well. Timing wasn't right or I may have thrown in on the bidding action. It's a great page - congrats. I also have a couple pages from that issue. Good stuff!
  17. I could not access the site last night at all (kept getting errors) but can get on now but the ability to leave comments is gone.
  18. I could see that if you collect an obscure character or maybe one that is relatively new. If you collect a blue chipper (like I do with the Hulk), it is not hard to find art that is appealing.
  19. Looks great to me. So many people go to far on a frame job. I prefer a simple approach that doesn't draw the eye away from the art.
