  1. You know what that set of cards could really use.... more cowbell Hell yeah never have too much cowbell. Well within 12 hours or so of listing that Reedus Wardrobe card at a $35 BIN someone snagged it. I think that might be the most expensive wardrobe card in the set other that what people are trying to sell as variants (nothing more than a more interesting piece of the overall clothing). I will keep the auto and roll this into another box it looks like. I feel bad for someone on eBay they had a mix of autos and wardrobe cards from 3 boxes they opened, and there 3 autos were all the same card from T-Dog which seems to be the cheapest auto in the set. Dang that sketch card is already at $100. Very nice. You may end up being able to buy 2 more boxes for that sketch card. Was anyone else not really impressed by the list of artists doing these sketch cards? I gotta feva, and the only prescription is more cowbell Love that skit. I think the problem I had with alot of the sketches were that they weren't very impressive. There were a few that I thought were pretty darn cool, but some looked like I drew when I was 5 years old. So either the art isn't very good, or I was one heck of an artist as a child

  3. Personally, I think the series is better suited as an animation show, comparable to the Boondocks. The thing that annoys me the most about comics going prime time, is the fact they don't stress it's based on a comic book series enough. Is it really that hard to work in an Image plug. I'm sure Image would allow for the likes of Chew or Walking Dead to mention Image, just for the publicity. What's the first thing you see before a Marvel movie comes on?? Comic boards then.... Marvel.
  4. How about you show it to us first and give us first dibs, Doug? Take a look Awesome! One of the better looking sketch cards (thumbs u Some of them looked like a 5 year old drew them. That Lincoln wardrobe will also fetch more money, having two colors in the fabric. Might seem weird, but in sports cards or any memorabilia cards, collectors always seem to put more stock into the variety of colors in a swatch. I've seen people pay hundreds more for a baseball card swatch of a Yankee, based on the number of pinstripes on the fabric Interesting. Almost like adding value to a slab with an extra sig or more and sketch. Didn't know that. That explains the prices on the badge cards. (thumbs u People are always more fascinated when there's a bunch of pretty colors

  6. Oops Pretty impressive for someone to track down all the cards though.
  7. I have picked up 2 auto cards so far and just scored one box with the last of my eBay bucks so I won't be going crazy opening packs but figured at least have to open one box. Man you see what the couple ultra rare cards have gone for so far? $500+ it looks like. These are the redemption cards for a piece of Rick's Sheriff's patch I believe limited to 1/18. Maybe I can get lucky and pull one of the 1/1 of either Shane or Rick's actual badge. Those if they hit eBay will probably pull $1500+. eBay link to the current auction for one of the Rick patches limited to 18. eBay Rick's Patch You see these crazy prices routinely in the sports cards world. Always found it crazy when someone would drop 2-3k on an unproven athlete's rookie card that was numbered to 50 or less. Looks like the Cryptozoic product has some real money to be made out of it after all. Still think they would have even better sales if they had Tony Moore sketch cards inserted in very limited amounts
  8. Nice! Looks like you pulled a loaded box there (thumbs u
  9. But it's so much fun busting packs and anticipating what you might get, auto's, swatches, maybe a sketch card??
  10. I see she isn't on the auto list and neither is Lincoln. Kind of weak, now if only some of the wardrobe pieces for Lori included her under clothes. I've been looking at them on ebay, Curious as to why they couldn't secure Lincoln's auto for the set , but the wardrobe cards are the selling point for me. I always enjoyed buying sports cards, simply for the anticipation of what MIGHT be pulled. I may have to get a box of these, just to scratch that itch
  11. With the exception of a couple sellers, prices seem pretty reasonable, despite the overwhelming popularity. Hopefully, for the season two set, they incorporate pieces of the zombie makeup it would also be nice if they could get Tony Moore to do some 1 of 1 sketch cards
  12. Sort of off topic, but has anyone seen the Cryptozoic cards for the AMC show?? There's some pretty cool wardrobe inserts for the characters and walkers. Thinks I might get one of the Andrew Lincoln wardrobe cards for future use in a framed comic piece
  13. Good deal, glad to hear everything went through (thumbs u Wasn't like it was a sketch cover or something cool like that. (thumbs u That's true, just a Riggs auto, which hasn't been controlling that kind of premium. I know I personally could have used it for my variant set. Makes you wonder what the buyer was thinking? Perhaps a missing book in their collection, or maybe they got wrapped up in a bidding frenzy?? Either way, Mikeggg came out on top
  14. There's no way I would pay that much for the book, need it or not. I was bidding on it and forgot what time it ended, but I never would have went that high. Either someone REALLY needed that book, or someone got a little carried away on a $1 raw book
  15. That's too bad, because it would look a million times better next to your CGC 10 Oh well, you still have one heck of a framed piece of art there, Steve
  16. That is one sweet piece of art you got there You don't have the #9 cover OA framed with that exquisite CGC 10 do ya??
  17. Everything is nearly complete. Just a few more to go Well, I currently have the top ranked sets in nearly every Walking Dead category Thanks to help from Jeff, Steve, Shawn, George, and a few other board members, I've about reached the apex of my goal. There's still a couple holes to fill, but I'm confident I'll find the items I need before long. Unfortunately, I've had to settle for a couple books below 9.8 to fill some holes. The #2 second print I had graded could have went either way, but landed a 9.6. The #35 error variant seems to be a near impossible find, and I lucked into a 9.2 to fill the hole. The search continues for upgrades to these books. The only set I've distanced myself from, is the 1-48. I have no way of competing with Steve or Jeff in that category, but that's okay with me. The variant set is where my goal truly lies, and hopefully I can retain it for as long as possible. I've also acquired the best Serbian set I've ever seen, and I can't begin to express how happy I am to have had the chance to acquire it from Jeff The Argentina set has been a fun build, and I'm only short one 9.8 from having a complete 9.8 set. I have acquired 3 sets of 11-15 and all look to be 9.8's, I may even get some of these signed for my first SS submission. The Weekly set has been interesting to say the least. I know most hate the existence of the set, and I only decided to collect it simply because it existed. Needless to say, all these Walking Dead slabs are eating up a lot of room, .
  18. I am honestly surprised we haven't seen any sort of ads for Walking Dead material in any format during the show. Only Kirkman would know, in terms of what was on the table with AMC before the show was picked up. I would certainly like to think he tried to do something, being an Image partner
  19. I think it's about time to interject a little publicity towards Image Comics in the show. Seems to me that this is a prime time to really let people know about the comic series and to try and draw more people towards that medium. Perhaps a Walking Dead documentary that goes into how it all started Heck, mention the TPB's. I don't know what kind of money Image has to throw towards some ads, but it certainly couldn't hurt and it would help some of the budget concerns.
  20. So I do remember it correctly then. I wondered about them. This question was asked of Kirkman on the Talking Dead, and he makes reference to them possibly dying and having brain trauma, preventing them from coming back. Although, the question was more along the lines of why there was random dead people seated in cars. Seemed weird that they just died sitting in their vehicles. I could see death from exposure while wandering through the woods, trying to figure out where to go and what to do, even suicide from eating a bullet. Perhaps I'm just over analyzing every little detail that seems off
  21. So do you think they might go with bad boy Shane and Andrea being an item in the series, and keeping Dale as a "father" like figure?? I don't seem to feel any romantic feelings between Andrea and Dale. Nothing like killing some zombies to get you in the mood
  22. That auction should be interesting. Although, something about the bidding seems a bit fishy to me. Could be wrong, but that's a seriously large leap in one day ...The seller is a board member, and I can assure you there is nothing fishy about the aution,... Good to know. Wasn't trying to rub anyone wrong, just noticed bidders with low feedback plugging away. At $700 plus, that's a bid odd for a blue label. Hope the seller doesn't fall victim to bidders remorse. Nothing worse than jerks who bid items up and don't follow through.
