  1. Thanks for the background info. So CConnect is just slow in passing on their data then. It is strange since their numbers used to be updated in GPA within a few days after an auction ended, just surprised it has taken this long for the spring auction. Yes, CLink holding out is quite a disservice to buyers and sellers, on top of them not having a tracking tool on their auctions. I guess it is up to each diligent and astute collector themselves to keep tabs on the final prices from their site.
  2. Hi All, Just a quick question, I've been out of the game for a couple of years in terms of buying and selling so may have missed something.... Are Comic Connect auction figures no longer included in GPA sales? I was following a couple of books in the spring auction and these do not show up on GPA at all like they used to. I know Connect numbers were included up to years 2016 or 2017 and have stopped now? I may be wrong about that too then. It would be unfortunate if they are not part of GPA anymore, they have strong sale numbers at times that reflect current market trends. Having Heritage as the only auction house contribute to GPA can really understate some figures since their comic demographic is one of the weaker ones in the industry. Thanks in advance for any insight.
  3. Book ended at $6777. Wow. I wonder how much of that price is attributable to the small doodle that they included with the book. -J. I doubt the doodle had much affect on the price. The book itself was really sharp, rich colors and a perfect wrap. I think picky collectors are starting to realize the wrap on this book is difficult in high grade, most people keep the nice ones and when they do come out for auction a premium is paid. I believe this is why there is such a variance in the realized prices at times.
  4. Current bid for the CLink 9.6 white pages is at $5,914 !! Wow, almost a 20% increase from the last 9.6 sale on CConnect which was only a few weeks ago. From what I recall the eye appeal is comparable between the two. Won't be surprised if it cracks the $6K barrier, and we maybe even see a new high for the grade on this book ($6,500 +). No stopping this book right now ... and no movie or speculators required even.
  5. 7 I forget what a Gerber 7 means. Is that 100-200 estimated copies? or even less? There are 43 listed on the census and there are 4 raw issues listed in this forum so we know of 47 copies right now. That's rarified air. Isn't Action comics 1 a Gerber 7 also. 60 of those on the census Aren't GPA census numbers "contaminated" and unreliable due to duplication ? ie. if a cgc.4.5 gets pressed and submitted to become cgc 5.5, don't both the 4.5 and 5.5 stay on the census (unless the label is submitted also to get the original 4.5 dropped) ? Therefore, if this is the case it looks like two books are out there but in reality it's only one ? That means the "43" listed on the census can be less - and much less if there's been lots of resubmissions.... just a thought.
  6. Agreed - good time to buy if you're a collector and have been looking for awhile or waiting for the market to cool down. This is a blue-chip DC key which will hold its value over the long run. Bad time to buy for short-term speculators.
  7. No slowing down on this book. Won't be surprised if 6.5s will fetch $7,500.00 and 7.0s go over $10K before the end of the year. Don't see too many copies 7.0 or better coming out (yet). B & B #28 will eventually take over SC#22 as the number two SA DC key (after SC#4) - regardless of the movie hype, the JLA legacy and its pop culture impact is too hard to ignore.
  8. Nice! What's the final hammer price going to be on this one ?? http://www.comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2Fsearch_adv.asp%3Fall%3Dy%26TITLE%3Dgiant%2Bcomics%2Bedition%26TITLEOPT%3DALL%26ISSUE%3D12%26Condition%3D%26ConditionTo%3D%26CensusRank%3D%26SearchPageQuality%3D%26Pedigree%3D%26PRICEF%3D%26PRICET%3D%26DESCRIPTION%3D%26DESCRIPTIONOPT%3DALL%26SearchRemarks%3D%26SearchCGC%3D%26EXCLUDE%3D%26CATEGORIES%3D-1%26WCATEGORIES%3D-1%26SORT%3DCATEG%26_where_forsale%3Dy%26_where_auctions%3Dy%26x%3D0%26y%3D0%26where_auctions%3Dy%23Item_975234&id=975234
  9. http://www.comiclink.com/Auctions/item.asp?back=%2FComicTrack%2FAuctions%2Fbids.asp&id=971163 Quite the price! .... for an 8.0.
  10. Yikes ! I didn't know it was possible to hoard like this on this title !!
  11. That was surprising, given the piece missing from the cover, but I think that is a genuinely scarce book. Definitely a scarce book, and one that hardly comes up for auction (much like CL 25).... but if you were to do search on Heritage, there was a lower grade copy (raw) with WATER DAMAGE that sold for about $1,700.00 many years ago. I think the final price on this is aligned with how tough this book is, may even seem like a bargain in the long-term. A slabbed copy with a small piece out of the cover has greater appeal compared to a raw copy with major water damage IMHO.
  12. Did anyone else notice the Avengers#4 cgc 9.6 on CLink last night? I believe this Ohio pedigree copy took quite a hit ... they advertise it as having sold in 2011 for $91,500.00 but closed last night for under $30K ?!!? Yikes !
  13. Nice solid copy coming up in the CLink February Auction. http://www.comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2Fsearch_adv.asp%3Fall%3Dy%26TITLE%3Dour%2Barmy%2Bat%2Bwar%26TITLEOPT%3DALL%26ISSUE%3D83%26Condition%3D%26ConditionTo%3D%26CensusRank%3D%26SearchPageQuality%3D%26Pedigree%3D%26PRICEF%3D%26PRICET%3D%26DESCRIPTION%3D%26DESCRIPTIONOPT%3DALL%26SearchRemarks%3D%26SearchCGC%3D%26EXCLUDE%3D%26CATEGORIES%3D-1%26WCATEGORIES%3D-1%26SORT%3DCATEG%26_where_forsale%3Dy%26_where_auctions%3Dy%26x%3D0%26y%3D0%26where_auctions%3Dy%23Item_962163&id=962163
  14. RE: Rangers Comics#26 Is this considered a Classic Cover ? It is noted on my CGC label as Classic Cover but there is one in a current auction that is missing this notation. Was it just missed or did the Classic Cover designation for this book only realized recently ?
