Well, she's here. I can't get over how great this book looks in person. The back cover and edges of the pages are really WHITE. I've got two other books that's suppose to be white pages and they definitely don't look as good as this. Here she sits next to my admittedly soft 9.4 Bats 232. Obligatory family pic of my other Adams Bats. My fledgling comic book collection is now a whopping 48 comics! Woohoo

Yeah, I considered that this might have been a 9.0 at one time. Being a sports card collector, any type of restoration is a big no-no for me. Then I thought, squished or not, it's a one good looking copy and whatever it was in a it's former life, it's a 9.4 now. It was actually the white pages that eventually sold me on it. This will stand proudly next to my 9.4 Bats 232.

I love this book,thank God the stars aligned just right and Gav had this book from the Nik pedigree. Man, I picked up Batman Odyssey #1-3 today without knowing anything about it. All I can say is, I can't look at the cover to Batman 244 the same ever again.

Well, I guess this is the real question. Where can I find a 227 in 9.0+ or better condition ? That 9.6 with the date stamp just bothers the heck out of me.

Now that is one nice book. I've seen a 9.6 on eBay not long ago and that one didn't look as nice as this. In fact, it had a date stamp on the cover. I'm not sure why CGC doesn't automatically lower a grade due to this. Then again, I'm more familiar with how baseball and other sports cards are graded. A date stamp or any other type of marking/writing would be considered defacing the front.

I know, probably a dumb question, but I'm new at this. Is this considered the premier Batman issue of the BA? I'm asking in terms of possible upward movement and holding long term value. Been thinking of investing on some HG Batmans from the O'Neil/Adams run from that era and this one seems to be the most popular (and expensive) even though the story itself appears crappy and Adams (as cool as it is) only did the darn cover. Thanks for all opinions.

Yep. And I knew I was overpaying (wife is gonna kill me), but I really want them. These were pretty much my very first books that my dad got me when I was a kid. I kinda figured most books with black or darkly colored covers would be hard to find in top grades. Any defect shows up like a beacon. This is the same problem with PSA graded baseball or football cards, of which I have more experience with.

Nah, I didn't even know you can call in for that info? I'm just getting into this and still learning the 'in's and 'out's. I'm trying to get a decent copy of Detective 395 next.
