  1. Here's a GI Joe #1 I have that was never stapled. The inside front cover- And the centerfold-
  2. I posted a head's up in General. mikewhowell on ebay. Here's my original post.. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=8443413&gonew=1#UNREAD As always, buyer beware
  3. I have a question.. If someone was to "invest" say $1K, and in 6 months or a year, they decided to get out. Do they just sell the coin(s) back to you? Would they break even, make, or lose money? Or would they have to wait until you sell some books before getting their money? Possibly taking a loss in the sale of the books.
  4. I didn't real all of what was on that website. But from what I gathered, it sounds more like they want people to loan them money to buy comics of their choosing. Putting money into this sounds like a foolish idea
  5. I'm sure there is a ton of drek in there, but there also could be some decent stuff too. For me, it would depend on how much the seller would take for it all. It's way too far for me, but I would EASILY give them a grand for it all. Heck, I know I would offer more than that sight unseen. At a nickel each, that's $2500.
  6. wow, I never knew about this flag insert I'll have to look through my Mad boxes and see if I have this issue
  7. This is the "Whitman appreciation and information thread". For the life of me I just don't understand why someone would make it a point to jump in a thread just to knock what other's enjoy.
  8. I love following this thread. I'm actually going to look at a collection later this afternoon Haven't done that in years. Wish I knew all the "hyped" books to look for
  9. I haven't looked at ebay prices for a while, but it seems like Shazam 28 is starting to cool a little. Prices are still strong, just not as crazy. I haven't been able to find ANY of the later Shazam issues locally. Either the comic stores have been picked clean, or they didn't have any to begin with.
  10. $300 seems a little far fetched for a VF. I'll have to look them over when I get home later. I feel pretty good about some of these crazy price increases (when I already have them), but I always seem to not have enough time to sell. Wife works evenings and I've got the little ones to tend to. Maybe I'll try listing a few books in the next few days
  11. Wow, just saw that ebay listing. $86 and doesn't end until tomorrow That's crazy! I don't know if any of mine are NM(ish), but they are ALL in better shape than that one.
  12. no one get's a free ride haha jk But rules are rules I would think
  13. I've been following this thread from the beginning. Did I miss something?
  14. Wow, those are 4 really cool books! Can't see those lasting too long. Heck, if I had the time to scan some stuff and offer things up, I'd take them in a heartbeat. Makes me want to start collecting pre-code
  15. Wow! that is a nice piece, I love it! I am going to have to watch this thread VERY closely with offerings like that. I should probably get some things ready myself. Just in case
  16. I sold Joseph a TOS 39, and seeing as I have a low post count, I sent it to him without payment or deposit. (my decision) He received the book, and paid me in full. VERY honest buyer, and I wouldn't hesitate for a moment selling to him again. Thanks very much Joseph Joe
  17. Well, what a long, strange trip it has been. Now, are you in a position to divulge any of the more interesting aspects of its arrival? Unfortunately, this isnt the one that was stolen. This is a different book I picked up. Not as good a grade but a ToS 39 nonetheless Nice book for the grade Joseph! Now I need to look for a 6.0 or so

I bought a few comics from Ed a while back and was very pleased with the price, grading, and communication. I just recently bought an art page from him and am very happy with everything. I honestly have never had anyone take this much care in shipping a page to me. Wonderful transactions, thanks very much Ed !
  19. These are really cool! I'm gonna have to pull mine out and see what I have.
