There were probably several 100,000 copies printed. Like if I had to guess, I'd say 300,000 or more. 2000 graded copies does not sound like a lot considering most people who collect comics would probably like a copy. That's just my +1

I can't say enough for all my transactions with Mark, but I'll try. His grading is always on target and communication is second to none, and always entertaining. I continue to look forward to all his threads because I KNOW there will always be something I want there. It's a genuine joy every time we talk. Buy books from Mark, and you will NOT be disappointed. Ever. I found a mini Seahawks helmet in the last box she shipped to me. I laughed so hard and so did my wife. It's went right on my shelf. Not my Niner's shelf, of course Buying from Mark is a great experience, and I think you should all join in (once I've made my choices, that is )

I feel it's 1.5 at best with amatuer restoration, but I don't know if they'd give a purple label for a book at this level

I guess that depends on why they're there. If they weren't, would the cover actually be detached? Sometimes people added tape and staples thinking they added structural strength.
