  1. Firstly, i'm very sorry for your loss. As to your original question; this post is very good advice and exactly what I would do in your circumstances.
  2. There's no such thing as drek anymore. So many formerly junk books have become hot due to movie or tv announcements that you just might regret dumping them.
  3. Yes. Always thought that Warlord was underrated. Got Mike Grell to sign my Longbow hunters TP a few years ago. Quite a character from what I remember.
  4. As I get older, I find that I too get member slowly.
  5. It's kind of weird but one of the most familiar faces from my childhood is the LaSalle 'Look who's smiling now' guy from the back cover of a million comic books. (I'm talking about the mid 70's guy - I know there was an earlier one). I wonder whatever happened to him?
  6. Mine's on it's way, but i'm more looking forward to receiving the facsimilie of #1 which has also been issued for the 50th anniversary.
  7. The terms; 'Good Girl Art' & 'Bad Girl Art' probably wouldn't pass the woke test either currently.
  8. The Batman & Robin image is actually from one of his sketchbooks from a few years ago. It was the front cover.
  9. That's true. I'd forgotten Hawkman.
  10. Storytelling in modern Marvel & DC books is long overdue for a comeback.
  11. I actually like Frank Robbins on Invaders. He brought a nieve golden age feel to what was after all an homage to golden age books.
  12. Some artists are suited more to one genre than another. The example that springs to mind is Joe Kubert. On war or jungle books he is a master. On super-hero books he would be in my don't like list.
  13. I recently bought a large collection which included all of the Harris Cyberfrog books. I wasn't very familiar with these and threw them up on Ebay not expecting very much. Wow! there was a feeding frenzy and they went for very good money. I need to educate myself on 90's indies that's for sure.
  14. The wheels are... you know the rest.
  15. It's nearer to 1 1/2 Beatles, as in addition to Paul McCartney, (Peter) Lennon is also often there. And it is not unusual to also see the actual Mick Jones from The Clash & Big Audio Dynamite shuffling around the place as well.
  16. This thread is an absolute delight! Just seeing these things and having them discussed in a way that is all about the love of the thing rather than just it's monetary value is wonderful. Thanks for this thread and long may it continue!
  17. To continue selling off everything.
  18. Bleeding Cool gets worse by the week. Rich Johnson has an ego the size of a planet.
  19. Stan Lee gave lots of respect to Kirby & Ditko, even going so far as to write an open letter crediting Ditko with co-creating Spidey.
  20. She should shut her big yap or people might start looking more closely at her role in Stan's sad decline.
  21. I would like to see a compilation of every Greggy post since the beginning of this thread. Also, anyone who quotes a Greggy post in this thread should get a strike.
  22. But, should these be Captain America comics? I like Captain America comics. Which Captain America comics should I collect? Oakman, do you collect Captain America comics?
  23. Paul Cornell has bought from me on ebay from time to time. I've comped Dan Slott some Spidey books in the past, but the coolest would be the late George A. Romero buying a stack of Empire of the Dead #1's from me at a con. I gave him a good deal in return for a couple of signed copies. He and his wife were very pleasant and great to deal with.
  24. Such great books. The paperback versions always had terrible bindings which fell apart though.
