  1. A huge volume of the letters of P.G. Wodehouse. Easily as funny as his fiction and highly evocative of the twenties, thirties and forties.
  2. Brother you have an insanely cool house, don't worry about the bozos that get their feewings hurt.I would be proud to have such a beautiful home. So Oak, tell me, do you mount your "kills" in your comic room? No I don't,but I'm not butt hurt because someone hunts and makes full use of the animal. If a person shoots an animal and doesn't eat the meat,I could have a problem with that. It's a beautiful home nothing more, nothing less.People that don't like that sort of thing can always scroll past it,and not make comments at all.I used to hunt deer and pheasant with my father, wish I had a son to hunt with. I was kidding you.

  5. Yep, plus, who puts a collection of this size up and doesn't show a pic of even a small representative sample of the books? The realistic price per book for these is what, 10p to 25p max?
  6. Saw Simple Minds at the Roundhouse last Friday, doing songs from their first five albums. Awesome! Also saw The Damned and Nouvelle Vague there not too long ago. Great venue, easy to get to the front and easy to get a drink from the bar, perfect.
  7. Theres something Gollum like about this one I can't tell from the look on his face if he is horrified or intrigued? Is this like charades? I would have gone with constipated. Aroused
  8. Re Kapow!, I'd only consider going this year if they had more dealers, as that's all I'm really interested in. Anyone know if Nick is setting up?
  9. I'm not able to post a pic at the moment, but I just joined the club. I bought my copy from Ted at Superworld at the London Con last Saturday. Ted had just taken the book in trade from another boardie, and I was able to work out a great deal with him to take it off his hands. I had gone to the show with a few books in mind that I would like to buy, and this one was right at the top of the list. It's probably a vg but presents nicely, with no pieces missing or writing or other staining to the cover. I've been lucky to buy a few key books in low to mid grade in recent years, but this one is my favorite. Every time I look at it I can't help but smile. It really is a beautiful book and I am delighted to own it.
  10. Nice work Bane, your Batman run is becoming legendary
  11. Great work Bane, you're building a great run there. Good to meet you at the con. (thumbs u
  12. Hey get in line, I already offered him an iPhone for his AF15, he's thinking it over so back off
  13. I'll take the pics of the scantily clad women then, and if they're lucky, back at my hotel room too I'd stick my neck out and say if Bane manages to entice a scantily clad female back to his digs it would be a first on this board and he'd be seen as the con's Plus it would take up his entire comic budget for the weekend, I hear those Canary Wharf hookers run into money
  14. That is a superb room sir! I would go for something along those lines myself. Vintage week for this thread, good work all
  15. Hope this helps David Lloyd Thanks for the link (thumbs u. Weird though, because it gives David LLoyd a cover credit for Warrior # 11, but according to Dez Skinn who is selling a NM copy on ebay, the cover was by Gary Leach. Confused.com That is confusing but I suppose Dez Skinn would be in the know Yep, exactly what I thought, oh well, I'll think of something. Cheers. Well my comic software collectorz also says David Lloyd as the cover artist, and it is a V cover, so I am gonna say Dez is just mistaken on this one Ps. Its a great cover - I remember it when it first came out Thanks for the info (thumbs u
  16. That's nothing, Porcupine has live tarantulas in his comic room
  17. I actually think for a sig series, the grade is less important than the sig. In other words, where you wouldn't normally get a non key bronze age book in say 6.0 slabbed, if the writer or artist is signing it and it's getting a yellow label, then that makes it worthwhile. Also, if you've got an eye on profit, getting a CGC yellow label with an in demand sig can add value to an otherwise (more or less) worthless book.

  20. Quick question: did David LLoyd do the cover art for any issues of Warrior Mag? I'm trying to find something to get him to sign. Thanks.
  21. Too many to name one, but a series which needs to be read is Leave it to Chance. 13 issues, great writing and art, suitable for all ages and still cheap to buy the whole run. I am not a moderns guy, but this run is the perfect antidote to the big guns, big boobs, no storyline drek that is all too common in the medium today. Read it now kids!
  22. Cool, i'm getting my copy of this beauty signed by Stan at the London Con
  23. I've only ever seen the covers of these mags. What are the interiors like? Who worked on them? Great collection btw.
