i feel like this is probably something that has been covered someone here before... so please point me or if not answer. i am looking for a reco for bags for the extra thick cgc slabs. i use 2mil comic pro line "graded - 8.75x13.5x1.5) for othe slabs but they obviously dont fit the extra thick ones. these have a flap and glue strip. but if anyone knows a similar quality bag i would love a link or point me where. cheers brett

so what do we think the state of the site is for tonight? its clearly a s**t-show, but going forward no matter what... which seems, well... lmfao.... not bidding but curious.

no statements, or fanfare... the site just popped back up earlier this evening. so i assume the auctions for the next couple days will be particularily weak cause not everyone (except sellers) will be paying attention to when it came back up.

boom goes the website. they will fix and it will happen again and then it will fail again. there will be a half hearted apology and a shrug of shoulders. i dont know what doug is saying lately, but i used to have conversations about the website years ago, and back then he just would roll his eyes and say i know, but there was no appetite to change and it wasnt his decision. i havent asked about it in years, cause i did once and why would i again.

i had a dream. then i woke up. lol. i had managed to put together very close to all of 4 consecutive issues of peter parker spect spidey 39 to 44. it was all humberto ramos art and i think out of the 88 pages i had 70...i think. there were 2/3 floating around caf that could not be begged borrowed ot stolen and there was one guy who would not respond even when there was a price on page. it was a good little story, but i expected many pages may have been in mexico or singapore... i heard the covers and many of the first issue pages may have ended up there... and just got too tired of constant searching. i kept the one cover i could find, and do still search for the other covers.

i want to kind of come at this a bit laterally. i think tradd deserves all the praise and success for the work/story/art he has created, but i kinda also recognize that he creates what he does in a bubble and once its done then well, like most "products" in the modern world it then becomes up to marketing to create hype, awareness and get it into the hands of those that want such things. if i search the book on ebay for cgc copies i find almost none and they sell for less than the cost of slabbing the book, i can get the ls/ms from my lcbs no problem, there is a treasury edition coming also so i know i can see the art larger and in greater detail... and i would think in terms of publishing numbers that this series is looked upon as a minor sucess or perhaps not a success at all. without diamond sales numbers its tougher to figure, so perhaps i am off base, but it seems my impression if nothing else. but clearly in the original art market this thing is a wild success, and tradd is da bomb. i think alot of credit has to goto felix... for... well... doing his job. i think he's having success with what's called product-market fit. in essense - you have to find out what people want to buy from you, and figure out how to deliver it to them. i think he encourages his artists to have unique, strong voices in a business that endlessly copies and self references itself, and uses tried and true marketing strategy that has proven to work on collectors - so, after years of supporting and encouraging his creators... both he and said creators are enjoying success. he speaks with the voice of a taste-maker and that i think collectors (almost) forget he's a rep. he's tapped into a more than healthy amount of fomo and directly into the speculative comic hive-mind.... and finally, there is also clearly strong social/caf street cred with being able to show that there is a piece of tradd's art in your collection. in short, there is alot of hype. so, without going further, i think while we congralate tradd, we should extend that to felix. they are both proving they are good at what they do. now the other question? will these prices look like peanuts or poop in the future? who knows... but i suspect it will be decisively in one camp or the other... no middle ground.
