I'm currently into a situation where I cannot buy anymore moderns books... and even BA and SA. For about 3 months now I throw out all my money on GA books only and I cannot stop, there is something weird, GA are like drug, I just became addicted to them
Is there someone who had this kind of focus and turnaround of mindset?
I'm interested in every era of the comic books but I just think I justify much more easily to spend money on books when I feel that the opportunity to own them is really low. But I'm a bit feared that in 2 years I come to realize that I don't buy anything else that GA... wait a minute... why would it be bad?
What I don’t understand is why everyone doesn’t evolve like this.

I mistakenly thought the GA CL auctions ended tonight. I had tracking bids on about 30 books that ended last night.
Glad I missed it. Other than the Ghost Comics #7, I would've been crushed on every book. Granted, I typically avoid mainstream superhero (although I wanted several HG Wonder Woman that must have broken GPA highs) so I don't know how they did, but wrt everything I pursue, the market remains strong.

Just 2 books for this weekend. If something sells I’ll post more.
Rules:
All raw books are returnable within 2 weeks of purchase for any reason. Slabs not returnable. I try to give decent enough scans and pics to enable judgement of grade or detection of resto. Paypal, CK, or MO accepted. International buyers welcome if you can pay for shipping that includes tracking. If you are well known on the boards and international, your books will ship in a timely manner upon any form of payment. If you are international and unknown to me, you’ll either have to pay by CK or MO, or have a long-time ever-present boardie vouch for you directly to me.
Shipping costs are exact costs. USPS Priority envelope or box, well protected, is the default method, but other methods are possible. If shipping ends up being more than what you’re charged, I’ll refund the difference.
No bidders of ill-repute, yadda yadda yadda.
Start Spangled Comics #69 CGC 7.5 First Tomahawk, nice Robin cover. IMO presents better than grade. My scanner seems to add some glare so I added an iPhone pic, not sure that helps. $1300 SOLD TO jpez

Anyone have any luck with any of Jon Berk's bound Planet volumes? They had every issue up to 60 across 5 volumes. I tried for a few but they didn't go cheap. Vol. 1, issues 1-12, did $16,000. Vol. 2, issues 13-24, did $13,800. Vol. 3, issues 25-36, did $3800. Vol. 4, issues 37-48, did $2,300. Vol. 5, issues 49-60, did $3,500. They looked pretty heavily trimmed so I think that held down the later volumes. Still, pretty cool items.
any idea what the (R) CGC grade might be for most of the books? At the prices you note, I'm guessing 9.0ish(?)

I appreciate that there are some very brutal numbers in that recap for some books - so the aggregate view may mask the challenge of many specific Promise books. And also appreciate that GA may be harder to "index" for multiple reasons.
I don't believe anyone has quantified the health of the overall GA market. Anecdotal musings suggest it has either improved, remained the same, or declined albeit significantly less than have later era books.
So a decline in Promise books comparable to overall SA decline- it's bad and being GA has not saved it. To me it just means these books are now selling for what they should have originally sold for.

They look like an interesting (at least cheaper) alternative to the oft-discussed safe. If some are both Fire and Water -proof, I guess the question is assuming books inside cannot breathe, would you have the same problems as the safe?

Bid early on this in the CL auction, surprised I won. Most of the types of Bakers have been going over GPA for while, I guess this one was hard to judge as few sales on this issue.
