  1. I will never use CCS again. I paid extra for fast-tracked pressing in July at San Diego Comic Con. This was my first time using CCS, and I don't submit books often. Apparently my books got to CGC in early/mid November. I paid extra for fast-tracked pressing, and it took from late July until early November to press. Even the guy I called at customer service sounded surprised that it took so long. I tried to call a few times to question why it was taking so long, and customer service was not able to do anything to fix the situation. Really depressing, I feel like I wasted $24 extra dollars in total to get these books fast-pressed in 4-6 weeks, and it took 3-4 months. My fast track pressing took longer than their estimate for slow track pressing. It's upsetting to see other people's fast-tracks getting there in 6 weeks, and mine took around 14 weeks. I don't know why this happened, but it has turned me off to the service. I understand it's a busy season, but I see other people in this thread got their's back in a reasonable time, so I don't understand why mine took so long.
  2. It seems like the AF 15 went up by thousands and the TMNT #1 in CGC 9.6 stayed the same. Do people still think these books are comparable?
  3. This trade was 2 years ago, I'm wondering whether people still have the same thoughts on this trade as before.
  4. Dealt with Adrian over a 2 week period on a pretty high-value deal (high four-digits). Adrian was a pleasure to do business with, and this is my second deal with him in the past year. He is a great guy, and easy to get along with. Would definitely do business with him again, and probably will soon! Thanks again for your speedy and safe delivery, Adrian!
  5. Mike was a pleasure to deal with. Quick payment, great communication, and a very nice person in his communications. I would definitely buy from and sell to Mike, as he is very easy to deal with! This should be clear from the fact that he has 9 pages of positive kudos! Wow! Thanks Mike (thumbs u
  6. Joey's the man. Ships promptly, securely and great negotiator! A pleasure to deal with and I will deal with him again. We pulled off a trade + cash with books valuing nearly $3,000 without a hitch! Joey is one of the greats!
  7. Excellent transaction with Harvey. He is very easy to deal with, and shipped the book very quickly. Trustworthy, and has some great books. I already tried to make another deal with him!!! That's how good my experience was!
  8. Just an fyi, the X-Men 266 I bought from Nik came back from CGC a 9.8 Happy with my purchase!
  9. Still waiting on Encapsulation! This is ridiculous guys. I'm really waiting for that reliable competitor to arise. Couldn't CGC just hire some more graders or something? The amount of books submitted seems to only be going higher. It will be a 1 year turn around for MST's in the future.
  10. No problem dude. If some people did some research, they would learn that 27 states require licensed auctioneers to run auctions. Yes, even eBay has a license to be an auctioneer. They are sanctioned by all state governments and many international governments to run auctions, because they have shown they have the ability to self-regulate. They also pay fees to the states to maintain a license. The CGC boards don't likely have this regulatory capability or any license to allow these auctions!!! The reason these laws are enacted is to avoid fraud and discrepancies in auctions. Technically, in one of the auctions on these boards, someone could easily post something as an auction, and if it ends for a price they don't like, they can just tell the buyer to screw off. eBay has shown that it has ways to prevent this, and so do we, with negative feedback on eBay and the probation list on these boards. Except, our site does not pay a license fee to every state to run auctions that are just as illegal, if not more illegal, than running raffles on this site. If we're going to be fair, we have to avoid breaking the law across the board, instead of just picking the laws we want to follow. I, for one, say that we should just revert to what we've always done and run a trusting and self-regulating system (despite Robocop aka joe-collector's likely aneurysm as a result of the continuing injustices on the boards), instead of trying to be the guys on the show Suits and trying to enforce the law on these boards. Because, believe me, the forum rules here do NOT represent or come even close to encompassing the nuances of state and federal laws in regards to internet sales. There are tons of these auctions on these boards being done without any action against them. I could go around and report all of these auctions, and even report them for violating the laws of 27 states, since it is clear what an auction is, and we are having them occur every day on these boards. The problem is, I don't get a boner for taking the money out of others' pockets. I'd like to see the rules either enforced evenly and fairly, or we just keep the status quo of a self-maintaining system. What is the point of targeting each other, other than to waste each other's time and lose each other profits.
  11. Where's your definition from? Mine is from dictionary.com lottery[ lot-uh-ree ] noun [plural lot·ter·ies.] 1. a gambling game or method of raising money, as for some public charitable purpose, in which a large number of tickets are sold and a drawing is held for certain prizes. 2. any scheme for the distribution of prizes by chance. 3. any happening or process that is or appears to be determined by chance: to look upon life as a lottery. This is the broadest definition of lottery ever. Life itself can be considered a lottery under your definition? The dump I took earlier was also a lottery, and the breath I'm taking now... and now... and now... and now is a lottery. I hope you're not a lawyer or any other kind of professional where narrow and precise definitions are needed, because that definition is not at all helpful to your cause that the definition of lottery is clear. If anything, the definition you just posted opened an infinite number of definitions to the term. Can I not buy a book on here now according to your definition? Every sale is technically a lottery under your definition right? Life itself is a lottery, so we should just shut the website down. Arch, you seem to be doing a cracker job with enforcing the rules, shut the site down!! It's all a huge lottery!! Scams all around! No way to avoid it! This site is too much of a lottery, I think it is my duty as KING OF THE FORUM GUARDS (formerly held by joe-collector), to personally complain and notify the mods of the injustices going on every day! How can we trust any of the sellers here!!! I'm so scared! We have no way to avoid scams (other than the probies list, fraud laws, and many other avenues to avoid being scammed), but I'm scared I might have to contact the FBI, CIA, and NBC about this site! Sorry, online auctions are technically illegal as well in some jurisdictions, and we have those going on every day!! Some states have made unregulated auctions ILLEGAL!! And we commence in interstate commerce on this board, so some of our exchanges cross into states with these laws and these sales are technically illegal! Should I contact Arch about that so he can keep shutting one guy's auction down for the next few days?? I think that would help the boards!! Do you guys like me now?? Please, I have nothing else in my life! I have to help avoid scams, so I will join the Gestapo trying to stop everything illegal here on the boards!! Any of you guys who have ever done auctions are getting banned (or just one of you, depending on how Arch feels today). If you're going to be armchair lawyers (horrible ones at that), many of us can play the same game.
  12. Called today and still at graded phase in the encapsulation process. That's 3 weeks of encapsulation. Currently at 37 days, and not even at the QC phase. They are saying that it looks like another week or two They're really falling behind. Seems like the current turn around time on MST is 40-45 business days, sadly.
  13. Had a great time dealing with Adrian. He is easy to negotiate with, and packs and ships his books safely and quickly. I would deal with him again in a heartbeat!
  14. 4 Modern Slow Books: 4/23 Received 5/5 Verified 5/22 Graded Still Waiting on Quality Control. They said It should be out of QC by the end of this week and shipped back by the week after.
  15. Great transaction with Rodney. Fast shipping, well packed, and easy to negotiate with! A pleasure to buy from him!
  16. Nik sold me a book. Great communication upon purchase, and speedy delivery. I did a thorough inspection of a book he listed as NM, and he was completely on point. I trust his grading, and would buy from him again.
  17. Here is my new copy. Kind of wish I got one with pure white pages, but I got a good deal on this one.
  18. Anyone have a sub-VF graded or ungraded first-print copy that they are willing to part with?
