The carpet was not as dark as I thought it would be, but it does match the wall colour (and the two tones adds character). The comic boxes and other containers to the left are books that need to be sorted into the filing cabinets. Finally the chair will be changed for a grey one that rotates and reclines.

Most of them are Bowens, and still statues and busts. What what they are they are still great value for money There are more I need to get but theses have been in storage for around 10 years so out of sight out of mind. Now back on display, I can now look at getting the ones I am missing. t

So I have uploaded a swivel video around my room. For information, I have over 20,000 comics contained in 15 filing cabinets. Note, I did not show much of the cabinets as my floor is covered with comics to be filed and due to me totally screwing up my shoulder during my room move, I cannot get them put away, but I wanted to show something. If you want any details on anything in my room, let me know and I will post pictures and description(s). Cheers, Brian

Signature Series Noob Thread READ HERE BEFORE STARTING THREAD
Waylander replied to Pirate's topic in The Signature Room
Greetings All, This might be a bit left field and apologise if this is in the wrong place to post this. Does anyone here facilitate signings with William Tucci? I have one of the 6 foot Shi posters that I would like, if possible, to have William sign and remark before I frame it. If anyone can help, please send me a message. Please note I am based in the UK so will require international shipping. Cheers, Brian -
I have been gone a while, but still here and my wife has finally allowed my world domination (mu ha ha ha - evil laugh). Well get a bigger room. In progress pictures - more coming soon.

CGC plans to start hosting grading contests on a regular basis!
Waylander replied to CGC Mike's topic in Comics General
Sounds like fun - mixed books I would suggest. Although I will be bottom of the pile but that does mean having the highest number -
Yes, it can

Top 10 Actor Performances of Comic Book Villains, who you got?
Waylander replied to eschnit's topic in Silver Age Comic Books
On a side note / question are there any actors apart from Michael Keaton who have played a major comic book hero and a major comic book villain? -
Something I never noticed about Xmen 49's cover

2 - 10 Is there a No 1 hiding somewhere in your collection?

Also a Brit, I luckily completed my early X-men years ago, but never got them graded. Now I am regretting not getting them graded when I bought them as not only is the postage high, but most of the books now fall into the 'Walkthrough' fee scale so the costs are high. At the moment, I would rather waste the money on comics than grading, but at some stage I will need to consider getting books graded, but then the question is which ones!?!?!?!?

Batman 92 Retailer Appreciation
Waylander replied to TCan's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
Just curious, did you clean the fingerprints? -
I would say 3. My only issue being this side of the old pond is the postage (shipping) costs.

You are more than likely correct and if so, I live to learn. The ship ballast was a theory that had been banded about ever since I started reading comics a long time ago, but after the silver age. I have never researched the subject in detail, although looking at the size of cargo ships, it would have taken a lot of comics to have been deemed ballast, so l will have to concede it is more than likely incorrect It is more likely the treatment of the books once they reached the UK being the reason for many being lower grades. I remember trading comics in schools, bundles at a time, reading comics in dentist and doctors waiting rooms, which were just thrown about like magazines are today.

So many cool items - congrats on having a wonderful space. One item did jump out - who signed the Star Trek book - looks like multiple signatures?

Kev, To add, a lot of the paper material exported to the UK from the USA was deemed ship ballast, so was not treated at all well. So getting silver age pence books in grades higher than VF is difficult. As you said the market is seeing a shift in the value of pence copies, and luckily for us (in the UK) a lot of UK collectors still turn their noses up at them - so more for us true connoisseurs.

Awesome room. So many questions, but I will leave it with one, the hanging comics on the Whitman Spinner still in their original bags?
