  1. So absurd. A book just came out and it's being sold for more than cover? Cmon people.
  2. Don't think Maggie, rosita, michonne or Carl could take that shot. So my guess is prob Abraham. Eugene will be key to fighting back and glen had the fake death earlier and R/D are too popular. Solid episode. Built up some legit fear and thought Negan was great. Missed the cursing.
  3. Two possible scenarios. 1) cliff hanger. All lined up and we don't see who Negan starts beating 2) 2-3 main players get killed off That's what I think happens. Reads months ago that Negan may go down as the biggest villain in tv history. Doubt that but could make an impact.
  4. Was deadpool always goofy and breaking the 4th wall? No right? Wasn't he part of the weapon x program? Sorry just trying to recall original mythology.
  5. I never cared much about purple man in the books but holy was he awesome in season 1.
  6. Great pull. But would LOVE to see a CGC box with all of those. Nice.
  7. You are missing so much by passing up on Supergirl and The Flash. Add to this Arrow Season 1-3 (I have been holding off on 4 to watch it all later), and Legends of Tomorrow. Then you have Lucifer and iZombie, which though oddball shows are also well done. If only DC/Warner got it. I've heard they are good shows but can't get myself to watch. DC gets animation right imo. But there shows don't appeal to me.
  8. thinking back and I now do think he says to dd in ep 3 "you're one bad day away". Or maybe I'm just thinking this up. .
  9. Just finished the season. They did an excellent job. Little things here and there but overall top notch. Thought they handled punisher well (Buzzetta makes a good point) and the rest came together. Was about to drop spoilers but didn't want to be THAT guy. Started watching Gotham but can't go back to it, dd ruined me for that show.
  10. I look forward to seeing it but the movie is catching serious heat. Post said they may scrap some of their plans or at least remove Snyder potentially. All speculation but heads will roll. Think wb prepared for this. Comicbookresources said they had stats early on that it may not do well. Hope you all enjoy.
  11. Well, you have this all figured out then....except people don't speculate on comics because of story anymore, it's all about covers and 1st appearances. Isnt JL 40 the first Grail? Yes, but that was not the point he was making. When I tried to coax that 1st appearance out of him, hell fell flat on his face. You're joking, right? Gotta be... I was simply pointing out to the board, that in my opinion Darkseid War is going to follow a similar pattern as Guillory's Gwenom cover. You had to show off your big brain with a condescending remark that I was off base. I Instantly posted one cover & derailed your argument: Well, you have this all figured out then....except people don't speculate on comics because of story anymore, it's all about covers and 1st appearances. Now everybody please laugh at the Crybaby. Anyway. Let's see how it shakes out.... Bait. Taunt. Troll. Let me map this out for you. You said you knew about Gwenom last year and refernced an interview but no link. Then you laid out the Darkseid story arc. . It's about cover art and first appearances. I then gave you a chance to post the 1st appearance that is featured in the story arc to which you posted a cover of a single issue and then listed the 40-48 story arc again of the JuSStice League as going "nuclear". You could have just said, hey this one issue right here. Hooooo boy, All this Ball busting on "Batman vs Superman Day" Let me map this out for YOU. I posted in this thread because Gwenom was one of THE hottest books on the market yesterday. Wasn't just me that knew Gwenom was coming, it was anybody that follows Robbie via Twitter or Facebook. It's old news. Somehow paired with his retirement it blew up now. A $5 book became a "thing" Here's an IGN link from ages ago... http://bamsmackpow.com/2015/06/23/spider-gwen-returns-after-secret-wars-with-latour-rodriguez/ I simply replied that people don't buy story arc's anymore Really? I think you need to use your words like a big boy. Pretty sure you mean that people don't speculate on story arc's anymore. Because, I can assure you. Fans buy story arc's that have positive buzz by the truckload. Darkseid War is DC's #2 storyline right now. Fans adore it. I know this, because I'm behind the counter, in the trenches looking the fans in the eye every day since 1988. Thanks for educating me what people might be interested in. I don't need to get my shtick from a message board or google group, I am modern spec source material personified. Anybody that follows Geoff Johns via Twitter or Facebook knows that Darkseid War is leading directly into DC Rebirth, It's old news yet DC is having a press junket at Wondercon Saturday to formally announce just that.My opinion, everyone interested in Rebirth will want this. They just don't know until Saturday. Silly me, I thought the pattern of events looked similar to Gwenom & thought it would make an interesting post. The story arc is already getting tough to find. I set up at Big Apple con & it was an incredible seller. Depending on HOW it creates Rebirth could generate a number of Key's Right now I lke em all... Let's see how it plays out. You guys are some of the biggest lunatics in the industry. Hey Larry, what do you mean by tough to find? I live in NY and am fairly behind on my reading but just checked my standard go to sites and emailed a local dealer. I can get issues as far back at 35 (standard cover, but even most variants seem available) by Saturday. I don't doubt that it's a great seller. I'm sure of it. I've personally enjoyed the book and I know the big shops by me sells tons. Guess I'm just questioning whether any of these books (variants not included) will be "hot". By the way, honest questions. Not being a p****.
  12. One of my favorite subjects on the forum. Well at least when people aren't arguing print runs for 10 pages or bickering in general.
  13. I think you're giving buyers too much credit. Probably. This is one of those books, if it drops to $10 or less I'll pick up just because the cover is awesome. It came out during my slow down in purchasing (full stop for the past 5 months) so it's on my radar.
  14. Yeah but they must have a sense of something or they wouldn't flock to a book that started selling. Either way, good point.
  15. A book like this is odd to me. Wasn't desirable, but now it's super popular selling for $50. If most of the folks here seem to think it won't increase but it's going to decrease then why buy? Seems if you buy it at $50 you've missed the boat. That said, gorgeous cover.
  16. Notify Ebay and leave negative feedback. Yeah I was thinking of reporting the item. Since I bought it off his website though I don't think I'll have any way of leaving ebay feedback. Buy the book on ebay, click the payment already sent button (since you have already paid via CC) and then when he refunds you neg him. +1, but wait for the cc refund as noted.
  17. ny newspaper just gave it a pretty awful review. Does not shock me. Movie did not look good at all. Man of Steel was not watchable imo and expected this one to blow something fierce. That said, I still look forward to watching the movie sooner or later.
  18. You'll have to remove the bag, or give CGC permission to remove it for you. If you decide to go the grading route, I'd definitely remove it first and check the book out before submitting, to be sure it's worth doing. Those bags hide flaws that you might not notice. Didn't think about that, good point. Thanks.
  19. not sure if the question belongs here. but if I had a combo pack that I wanted slabbed do I need to remove the bag before sending? yes, right? also, is it better for me to keep them in the bag and sell "raw"? sorry just reviewing ebay listings and was curious.
  20. Being a Punisher fan I can say that dark reign solo where Daken cuts him to pieces was a fun read. What they did afterwards was the worst in a long time. The Ruka series was solid.
  21. I was reading the market reports from the past Overstreet. This isn't something you can seriously jump in and be successful at in a short period of time. Even with a giant stack you need to be well educated like the above poster mentioned. Too many folks eat, sleep and breathe this and have been doing so for decades. I've become risk adverse in my old age. Some of the stuff I've read in this journal compounded with the personal hurdles makes my cringe.
  22. I think this has been mentioned before but I'll repeat. And I'm saying this from a positive place. I'd stop what I'm doing, take a long look in the mirror and honestly ask "can I be good at this?" or "am I doing everything to be successful?". I've been in sales for a long time. Not comic sales. Point is when I started it was rough, or at least I thought it was rough. When I asked myself a few honest questions my perception changed, my work ethic changed and the trajectory I was on changed. Having read 37 pages of this journal I'm not sure this is a good path for you. At least not right now. P.S. I'm actually planning to sell my books to decrease my collection but I have no plans on selling anything worth more than $20. This way if someone takes advantage of me I'll be able to smile and say "Go with God and enjoy!". Either way, good luck. Pete
  23. Almost 3am and need to check out. Amazing, such a great read. Thanks for putting this together.
  24. Stumbled on this post and I think the advice the boardies are dropping here is priceless. Seriously, I'm starting from page 1 and reading. Some good folks on these boards.
