  1. nice, in all my years, I don't think.i have ever seen that for sale. Maybe I just live under a rock, but those early jumbo are tough books.
  2. If there was Rulah cover from the baker hand would be this one imho. The composition, the detail, the animals , the nuances of figure seem better than Kamen for the period but hey maybe he had a good day. Either way definitely a classic gga
  3. I agree nothing about zoot 14 cover feels remotely baker. On the other hand baker definitely did work for fox during this period. I could see Kamen pencils / influence possibly with bad inker as you suggested.
  4. We can all agree my my mail call today with a classic Zolne is super sweet. nice grade and didn’t break the bank.
  5. I agree I don’t see any baker in 34 with one potential exception. The only possible for me is single women in splash of shark Brodie which looks Blum but had nuances w Bakeresque figure as if Baker was standing at his desk doing drive by in bull pen. I can imagine him making suggestion or even showing off skill as first time introducing himself w editor and other artists standing around. Nothing official as payroll but causal “hey baker let see what you got “ Then I imagine his first day in office he is partnered w Blum on stories that go into fight 35 and jumbo 69 As it happens publishing scheduling are such that fight hit’s newsstand week prior. Splitting hairs but fun to consider.
  6. I appreciate all hard work they did but as with any scholarship they are never the last word. So to answer the question here are few baker panels. Keep in mind Iger studio has mult artists per story and likely Baker is only pencils with someone inking. In other words he assisted on Tiger girl, Hooks, and Shark B but I am not saying every tiger girl is Baker in this issue. Later he is more prominent.
  7. Admiring my recent mail call fight 35 and realizing per fiction house ad w newsstand dates vs indica that this issue hit stand sept 25th vs jumbo 69 at oct 1 making fight 35 first published baker. Both books have underwhelming contributions because Baker only does women. At first glance I was hoodwinked at jumbo w November indica vs fight indica as December however upon closer examination because fight was bimonthly I went back and studied and caught the nuance.
  8. Another mail call with 2 great issues of Fight. Had to pay gpa for 35 but definitely worth it considering grade.
  9. Need to keep FH thread healthy. Here are some favorite classics I recently acquired
  10. I have some Steele collection books. Jumbo 9 and 13. Some doctor who collected since childhood and held books for years. The estate asked to have certs made as kind of memorial to him. Definitely not high grade material
  11. my prior comment linked wrong photo, if you have Zoot 7 I take it sent pm
  12. if you still have Zoot 7 I would take it
  13. You picked up a bunch of goodies in that haul! 69 and 94 are some of my favorites.
