  1. I will chime in on this to give a Southern California prospective. I found out early on that my local newsstand was almost a full week behind my local comic book store. I know this for a fact. Any issue that sold out as a direct addition I would buy about 5-6 days later at the newsstand. I used that to my advantage. I always bought issues that ran out at my LCBS

I also know for a fact that my local comic book store used a hand written ledger calculator and no traditional cash register for sales.

  3. I was lucky enough over the weekend to find a 50 copy collection of girl related comics at a yard sale. It was full of Barbie and Barbie Fashion comics with a few others like New Kids on the Block. What was cool was the lady selling them also had the original mailing cards. Pretty sure the Spider-man is MacFarlane but who drew the Captain America? Is is Byrne? or LEE? Do these have any monetary value? How many years did they include a mailing card?

The few years I subscribed to Marvel comics the books came alone in a brown sleeve.

    Any help would be appreciated.
