  1. My TMNT #3 is still there without change. I think it is unfair how this whole thing has gone especially with the communication from CGC. No real apologies given and I don't particularly like being turned into a needy nag. This whole ("where is my item?") is totally on CGC for not being more transparent. Why add more signature events when CGC is admittedly over-whelmed with current business?
  2. Thanks for your input. This is a recent purchase from eBay. Book is complete and lies flat. One flaw that is not necessarily noticeable on the pictures is two small dots of white paint? on cover. One is on Batman's index finger the other on his cowl near his ear. Both sit on top of the cover and have been there for some time. What attracted me to this copy is it does not have a giant vertical crease from opening and reading.
  3. so today my TMNT 3 (Eastman signed and pressed) moved from 12/30/20 received to 5/18/21 received / scheduled for grading Not sure what that means on TAT anymore with all the changes made recently
  4. Geeze so much for our generation of comics never being worth anything. Can't believe the prices on the Spidey books except there are definitely more 1st appearances. Batman for me has always been slightly more important because the stories were so much better. The exception of course was the Todd Mcfarlane books. I knew immediately when I picked up 298. I was lucky to pick up multiples through his entire run. Totally agree though The Dark Knight Returns should be at or near the top, Batman 404- 407 unbelievably good cover to cover, Batman 400 great, Batman 417-429 excellent, 426 - 429 classic now and Detective 575- 578 undervalued and great. I purchased and read Batman 393 to 543 and Detective Comics 568- 671 as they were released. Most of them were great fun to read books. (I collected and read all three Spidey books too). Lucky and glad now to have purchased multiples of books I thought were great
  5. Geez that's got me beat. Funny I'm waiting on issue #3 too.
  6. Me too Ryan. Its funny I'd like to more signings but as a 1st experience this has been tough. marked Received on 12/30/2020 In house Signing Magazine still at received I paid for pressing the magazine too. Book left my hands half a year ago.
  7. I went ahead in my amateur attempt at displaying the strips. I've enlisted the help of my daughter whose an artist. She did the Spidey head. I was able to fit around 40 strips using a frame I already had and two sided tape. The board I put it on is some type of artist paper or backing. I will post pictures once we add all of the art along the border. But here are two... Any thoughts on what to draw along the 2 1/2 top border? and a 2" right border?
  8. Let me start by saying I have never openly challenged a grade I have received from CGC. It is very important for me to know however if a mistake was made on grading. Looking at the book front and back I cannot confirm the grade. The grader notes say: multiple staple rusted centerfold. There is no evidence of rust on the outside cover. How can a staple rust on the inside of the book and not anywhere on the outside? Plus I checked the book before sending in. Posting 2 close ups of the staples. Certification #3766314002 submission 3766314 Thank you very much for your time
  9. Maybe I should post this on the PGM section but I would love to ask the opinions here. With the amount of errors here should I contact CGC about a possible grading error? The TMNT 10 signature I mentioned a few pages ago has grader notes: multiple staple rusted centerfold. There is no evidence of rust on the outside cover. How can a staple rust on the inside of the book and not anywhere on the outside? Plus I checked the book before sending in. Any help is appreciated. 2 close ups of the staples
  10. I will take a stab at it for you. Looking at the book as if it were mine I would put a raw value at around $300. That's based on what I see on eBay completed and currently available. Unfortunately you cannot have the signatures authenticated by CGC. I am sure the signatures are real but CGC has to witness them being done to place a signature series label on them. A qualified label does not help much in my humble opinion even if it does place a grade and confirm whether any restoration has been done to the book. The only way to find out the true value is to auction the book. Take lots of pictures and write a detailed description. At one time you could set a high reserve price on eBay and watch for the highest end bidder. But is seems auctions with a reserve don't get many bids. If if were me I would keep it and keep an eye out on previous sales until its the right time to sell.
  11. I've submitted to CGC for at least 15 years. I've submitted in person at shows and of course on-line. Can't say I have seen anything quite like what's going on right now. I wish CGC would open a West Coast branch say in Southern California. I would submit a resume if they ever did. Staying on topic though... I have the most submissions with CGC I have ever done. I'm sure I'm not the only one. Here's a positive for an express order. Delivered on 4/26/2021 Received (scheduled for grading) on 4/28/2021 and today 5/6/2021 grading/CC.
  12. These books went straight to scheduled for grading on 4/24/2021 after about a month at CGC. Did CGC get rid of the received portion of the status update? I will of course share the results at a much later date.
  13. here's the interior shot. I'm thinking steering wheel and stick shift.
  14. I might I did think about that in particular. My daughter is a heck of an artist she said she could make a new flame set too. Not sure what the missing hole in the cockpit held. I think the steering wheel went on top of the dash? in orange too. I take a close up of it and post... Thank for your help again Yorick.
  15. So I did take the advice given here by Yorick. I thought I would update with the end result. The rear plastic rivet/welds were the only thing holding the car together. Unfortunately, drilling holes from the top and bottom did not release it in the back. I had to reach in and saw one of the connections. The other came off easily. I cleaned the car with soap and water. Sanded the tops of the wheels and the metal rods (WD 40) holding them together. I didn't sand until it was smooth just until the larger scratches diminished in size. I started on 600 and went down to 2000 grit using water to help with uniformity. I used a hard plastic straw for a front axel and slit it front to back to get it in. I sealed the straw with heat and filled in 4 cracks and one hole (visible on the top next to the flame sticker). I used the krazy glue and baking soda trick I gleaned from youtube. To re-enforce the front end and to give me something to drive the screws into I used a blue Duplo Lego . I decided not to paint anything, wanting it to look its age and that it was played with heavily. There was not enough thickness in the plastic to bury the screws but they don't hinder movement. I'm happy with the end result. I know I can tweak it later. I have two holes to fill on top and missing steering wheel to find or fabricate.
  16. I just picked this up on eBay for a good price $37 shipped. I had a copy years ago that I regret selling during the 1st FF movie release. It was actually pretty beat so this is a bit of an upgrade. One of my favorite FF's of all time. The book doesn't have any stains. Staples are attached. No off smells. I think I got a deal. Please weigh in with grades, THANKS!
  17. What a beautiful job. How did you fix them to stay in one place?
  18. Eerie 95 - 5.0 OW $4 Eerie 129 - 4.0 OW $3
  19. Detective Comics 360 - 6.5 OW $12 Batman 294 - 6.5 W $11
  20. I purchased a lot of nearly 100 Amazing Spider-man comic strips cut out of newspapers from the early to mid 1970's. All of them from Stan Lee and John Romita. I thought they would be cool to have but I like to know how to better display them. They were in an old 70's era magnetic photo album. I removed them and put 3-4 each in a regular comic bag and board. Any ideas on how to properly display them would be appreciated.
