  1. Would like to have a 2.0 at a minimum but the cover shows pretty well so I'm happy with it. Seriously, that cover is amazing for a 1.5. It presents very, very well.
  2. I just picked this beauty up for what I considered to be a great deal.
  3. Has everyone seen this? It's an L.B. Cole recreation of WDCS #1 in the August Heritage.
  4. You're talking availability. You're also assuming that every Spider-Man fan wants that Platinum #1. You should be comparing the # of collectors that want Spider-Man # 1 Plat versus the number printed. And the same with Albedo 2. Albedo 2 comes up for sale in high grade a handful of times per year. There is always a demand for those copies and it always sells for well above guide. I'm not positive the same can be said about Spider-Man 1 Plat. Is it possible that the demand will eventually be met by the supply? Sure. That can be said of any book. Albedo 2 has been a strong book for at least a year and a half. I don't see it slowing down any time soon...it comes up just too infrequently and there are always a ton of collectors willing to pay top dollar.
  5. Anyone that watched TMNT in the 80s?
  6. Exactly 2,000 copies were printed. How many do you think survived in great shape? From 1984 and from a no-name publisher?
  7. Because it's the introduction of one of the best indie comics ever.
  8. Good story + good art + scarce + niche market = high prices. I got $875 for my 8.5
  9. Christmas for Shacktown (FC 367) is a fantastic story.
  10. Hmm, it's been a while since I've been on this thread. Dang school work and all! I'm eying up a few books in that Heritage auction, so I'm sure I'll get none of them.
  11. Is it really a shock that Vegan (or whatever) was offering $1,500 for a modern book and once it surfaced she(he) was never to be seen again...?
  12. Even if you had, it might not have beaten his max bid. Yeah, I know. I took a stab at that 8.0 223, too. I didn't want to go too high on it as I didn't like the writing on the front and back covers.
  13. Holy moly...over $5,700 for the 9.4 FC 367! On a sad note, I woke up at 5:30 AM to try and win that Donald Duck 60 (9.2) to lose it by $5.00 My computer wasn't fast enough for me to outsnipe the sniper.
  14. Unfortunately, I think you're absolutely right. I think the chances of this book ending up in the US are very slim. Are you predicting a Hong Kong home for this book?
  15. I just picked this guy up from Metropolis (who outbid me for it during the Jan 06 auction!) for a GREAT price.
  16. That baby is going to go very, very high...it's a 9.4 AND it's an execsec book!
  17. So post a Duck book! I don't have any new ones. I'm hoping my Duck-less posts serve as a catalyst for other Duck owners to post.
  18. Um, this thread can't die. It's my all-time favorite.
  19. Just as a note of reference, we had a 7.5 sell for nearly double that 8.0 right on these boards and a 5.5 (PGX) sold for more than that 7.5 on ebay...but thanks for the misleading GPAnalysis info.
  20. In all seriousness, if the book garners no real interest after the evening board rush, I'll toss it on feeBay. Although the book hasn't been on eBay in like 6 months, I think this is a fair price. Maybe I'm way off base but we'll see...
  21. my heart hurts...don't bring it up... I wish this was THAT book.
