  5. Did anyone get an answer to this question, Does CGC now graded JAY Company books?
  6. Hello CGC. Can you please build a MICHAEL TURNER ASHCAN SET? There are 17 Ashcans with Michael Turner covers, and only a few are represented within other MT existing sets. I can list all 17 if you want, the generally focus around year cons starting in 2003. Plus an odd Witchblade Queens of something cover....Matt Please provide certification numbers as this will help me form a set. Thanks.
  7. FAITHLESS. Please add this limited set, new April 2019. Thanks! Only issue one and variants graded. Please let me know when issue #2, #3, #4, #5 has been graded and I will build the set.
  8. I would presume if Quebecor was listed as the Printer, PGX would have done some homework to verify this is a true copy. So I would love a copy of the indica page...or any other helpful proof. Also you would think Skybound would know?? Matt
  9. Please tell me more about this WD comic, WD #1 Museum Edition. Where did you first hear about it?? Matt Holly matthollymarshalls@yahoo.com
  10. Civil War 2006, can we get a set with 1-7 ONLY, all the variants within 1-7 ONLY...there are plenty of comic and this is a high demand set. Matt
  11. The Fear of Re-Submitting, real or not? Well folks, the fear of a downgrade by resubmittal is real. As an avid DD collector, I have probably more DD WP SS issues than anyone. But with SS copies, especially signed by key artists or writers, the thought of investment potential also comes into play. I have almost exclusively used previous CGC graded 9.8WP copies for any signing and resubmission. I presumed that a 9.8 issue sealed in evidentary plastic should remain a 9.8. I have rarely submitted raw comics for signings, but have done so with both wonderful and disappointing results... I have used Desert Wind, Paradise Comics and Rich Henn for all my Stan Lee submissions. They all provide a professional service, and vary in price and service a bit, but nothing to complain about here. I recently broke out my VISA card and submitted 6 DD 9.8WP comics for a Stan Lee signature, all early Silver Age issues. DD 26, 27, 34, 36, 40 and 53. DD 26 and 53 we from the Gregg Schmell collection and paid for dearly. They were older CGC registry numbers. DD 27 and 36 were older CGC graded issues. DD 34 and 40 were done more recently. The results were DD26 hit 9.8WP, thank goodness... but DD 27, an older registry number, was dropped to 9.6. as were DD 34 and 36 that also dropped to 9.6. DD 40 hit 9.8, as did DD 53, but the color on 53 was graded to OWW. Thats 4 out of 6 comics taking a hit. I may resubmit the DD 34, as to my eye...it is perfect... I am sure you can calculate the dollar value difference in the down grade from 9.8 to 9.6, even the loss due to OWW pages. The DD 27 was actually downgraded to 9.4, but Rich re-submited it and it was raised to 9.6. Lessons learned. The older the CGC registry number, the GREATER the chance of getting a downgrade, as the page color may diminish, and subtract just enough ZAP from your comic to have the CGC folks pick the 9.6 number. Urban legand says re-submit the small label older comics and the "New" standards may give you a 9.8...forget it. It's just legend. Next. Have an expert look at the book closely IN THE SLAB, as you may see minor imperfections that ring up the risk bell. Last. With modern pressing, I think the 9.8 number is much higher to achieve than even a few years ago. Maybe it is purely business, as they want to sell you the pressing service too?? In any case, most silver age books at 9.8WP are the Top Shelf of the industry. ANYBODY can find a 9.6 and get it signed. if you are going to take a risk, use a RECENTLY slabed book, and if you are clever, request the prior grading notes and review them carefully, and if you decide to go for it...TAPE THEM to the COVER of the SS and resubmitted books. Use a respected SS team who can call CGC personally and request a second look if necessary, even if you have to pay for it!! Or dont. Just be happy you have a 9.8 book and buy a 9.6 one to have Stan the man sign!!! It will probably be the top SS book anyway!!
