  1. The argument about not finding NM+ books out there because it's a lower run kids book is iffy. The same argument was made about BA12 and as soon as the price skyrocketed the number of 9.8s doubled. If a book becomes popular, people will dig them out of their long boxes once the books are worth submitting to CGC. Being a kids book might have something to do with it but BA12 is valuable because of Harley more than anything. Doubt Livewire will ever reach that level of mainstream popularity. SA5 got hyped up by these boards and is now coming back down to reality like all the rational boardies here predicted.
  2. I think this is the motivation for most flippers/resellers - its a hobby within the hobby. Some people like the research, chase and thrill of selling as much as they like the research, chase and thrill of collecting. Totally this. I started flipping books because it was fun speculating and chasing down books. Wasn't so much about the money itself, though it is nice to make enough to pay for the books that stay in your collection.
  3. I'm glad Sixth Gun got all the fanfare--otherwise I wouldn't have ever discovered such an amazingly worthwhile yet underrated book. But then again, I made a profit before it crumbled. Still wish there would be a TV show though Wonder how these animated series are going to do. Looking forward to Rat Queens and Chew!
  4. It's pretty crazy to see how much these boards can move books and influence prices. I personally think this Livewire hype will crash and burn too. SA5 selling for almost the same price as BA12 one or two years ago is nuts, especially since Harley's popularity has been healthily and steadily growing for the past decade and she's a character well known to people who don't read comic books. Livewire is barely even known to people who do read comic books...
  5. No worries, we've been promised 9.8s for $50 many times in here!
  6. Maybe a couple bucks? For some reason, graded 9.8s of #1 first prints aren't even worth very much...
  7. All sitcoms use a laugh track of some sort. Yeah, almost all sitcoms with live audiences enhance the laughter and I think the show would come off terribly inconsistent if it didn't. But that's different from saying that the show depends on the laugh track because "the producers of the show think its audience is too stupid to know when to laugh". It's funny how many The Big Bang Theory haters there are on these boards. I'm a real comic book fan and like the show for the most part. I actually find it funny when they poke fun at different aspects of the hobby. But then again, I don't get my panties in a bunch as easily as some here.
  8. Jimmy, totally agree 100% hate this show and one of the biggest reasons is the laugh track. The other reason is because the humor is written by troglodytes trying to sound intelligent. Lastly, because its just not funny.... I loathe the show. Si!! I mean, you can do good shows with a laugh track, but don't play it every half second. Sledgehammer! Uh, The Big Bang theory is filmed in front of a live audience. I don't want to keep going off topic, but live audiences seriously laugh at anything. Don't disagree with that, but it's unfair to blast the show for having a laugh track when it doesn't. If you hate the show, you hate the show. But don't blame it on a non-existent laugh track.

  10. #34 is awesomesauce Bad Apples is easily my favorite arc!
  11. Yeah, I agree. It might have gone for maybe a a bit more on eBay but this is a lot closer to its realistic value than the recent buy it now type sales we've seen.
  12. http://www.mycomicshop.com/search?ItemID=24309317 If anybody's interested, real value/price for a 9.9 universal is $227.
  13. I never got into NWM but I'm surprised how much this book has dropped off. How long has it been since the last issue got released (haven't been following)? Always thought the covers were pretty cool.
  14. This happens with almost all books though? I've noticed many people on eBay just like auctions and will rather bid and win an item at the auction price even though they could pay less by getting a BIN. In my opinion, BINs skew results both ways (books selling for higher or lower). To me, it seems the auction prices are more telling of how much people value a book on the secondary market.
  15. Just read #10 and had to post that the issue was fantastic. In my opinion, a very under-rated and under-appreciated book, though it seems more and more people are jumping on board!
  16. Thanks for the info! Animated with Rob's art is an even better scenario than the live action TV show in my opinion. The series already has solid sales of the monthly, trade paperbacks, original art and merchandise like chogs and t-shirts...might be enough fans and support to make this happen!
  17. "scenes of corpse licking while might work well with Guillory’s cartoony art, it turned people’s stomachs when on camera. So animation may now be the way to go…" Animation would definitely be better for this series anyway!
  18. But unless these indie comic book series make a splash in popular culture like the Walking Dead, they are going to be forgotten in 15 years. Most people have never even heard of Saga or East of West outside of the comic book collecting community. Superheroes will still be popular and always have fans.
  19. What's with the prices of slabbed Revival #1s? Any ideas? Too many 9.8s? Cover stock too good (there are about a dozen 9.9s out there)? Raw copies are doing really well (sells consistently for $30), but 9.8s can be had for as low as $70, which seems strange to me...
  20. 50k+ seems right just from the multiple lots of 5 and 10 on eBay. Everybody seems to have stacks of this book.
  21. What a steal for a BA12. If Harley ever makes it into a movie, the book will skyrocket!
  22. I actually like that book, I wish Hulk would sell it to me for $500-600 tho. The highest bid is a shill?
