  1. Had I not sold four copies in my last Vampi sales thread, I could have been at a cool dozen. As said before, it’s an illness and the struggle is real.
  2. Basically no back issues. A section of new comics downstairs, a ton of toys, trades, toys, statues, clothing, etc. Not what I was hoping for, like a nice selection of British mags was what I had in mind.
  3. Indeed. I had such high hopes. Was there a few months ago and all I left with was one of their Brian Bolland drawn t-shirts.
  4. Wow. Great pieces and shockingly strong sales results.
  5. No known cure. The struggle is real.
  6. Yep, you’re on the right track. A very hungry silver fish.
  7. The other 9.8 has back cover color loss at the spine edge and edge wear on the back lower edge at the open end. The front is lovely and better centered than this one. This one has a superior back cover, but appears to have some color break at the lower right front cover. Any of these defects for me personally would disqualify a 9.8 grade on either one. I suppose if I were grading at CGC, I would be despised by submitters.
  8. Mmmmmm…..oroto. My love for Maroto is well known. He was so spectacular in the ‘70’s in particular.

  10. If you decide you’re bored with these, keep me in mind.
  11. I preordered the slipcase last month. I’m not sure what more they can do that hasn’t already been done, but I can’t resist!
  12. Just in today from a purchase on CAF. Jose Pepe Gonzalez page from Vampirella 22. A reasonably nice example.
  13. It would have been cool if he was included. I could have seen him on bass.
  14. You’ll see several more Kenneth Smith covers over the next year. I think his fanzine and small press material has more to offer than much of what he did for wWarren, but there are a few standouts to come.
  15. Thanks to Bill Morrison, I am able to add this Sanjulian cover for the Spanish version of Creepy #9 to my collection. 24” wide x 16” tall and all fun.
  16. It’s not something I’ve run into. However, allow me to introduce you to the modern miracle that is Google Translate. It’s been invaluable to me.
  17. Val Mayerik did so much spectacular work in our beloved magazines on both covers and interiors, I consider him a perennial all star.
  18. I see this type of corner chipping on roughly 10% of Warren magazines specifically between 1966-1969. It can be at the top, bottom or rarely both. I believe this is as stated by others that it is a fairly significant side effect of the production trim. With all due respect to the mighty Oakman, Silverfish generally do much cleaner work than this and do their work anywhere, not just corners. It’s similar to a mouse chew, but never affects covers and typically only a portion of the interior pages. It’s too consistent to be bugs or animals. Given the loss of material, and the fact that copies exist without this defect, in my own personal grading standard I drop the grade 1-1.5 points. Your mileage may vary.
  19. I won these two pieces at auction tonight. Appropriate apologies to any one who may have been the underbidder(s). I am particularly excited about the story page, as it’s a lovely example with a couple of beauty panels.
  20. Yes, I know Steve. You may also note that his son is Deniz Kahn of WATA.
  21. Elvira has had a nostalgic resurgence the last few years. In this case, not being able to look inside may have increased the value.
