  1. Manual sniping is where it's at.

With one minute left, you enter your max amount.

With three seconds left, you hit confirm

Your bid will post just as time expires without anyone having a chance to respond.

Unless their max was higher than your offer. Then you don't have a chance to respond.

You don't see the wisdom in that?

You save yourself from yourself by doing it that way.

You put in the max you are willing to pay with three seconds left, and if you don't win it, it's because someone was willing to pay more than your max.

If I allow myself time to respond(by bidding early), I might get caught up in a bidding war, and pay more than I wanted to in the heat of the moment.(Losing my good judgement, and overpaying)

  2. I love this show. :shy:

I actually like Nick (Baby Depp). It's Chris I can't stand. That kid sucks. And the sister is... :luhv:

I'll admit that some of the characters are annoying and the dialogue is lacking at times (as is the acting), but I like watching an actual zombie apocalypse/SHTF show more than what TWD has become.

    Chris is a MEGA CARL

I like Nick too(I think he looks more like a young Robert Smith from The Cure, than he does Depp)

The sister was showing some cleavage last episode, we all decided in the water cooler that it was the highlight of the show.

  3. OK, guys, you will be happy to hear that this is my last post on this subject!

Well, unless pulled back by popular demand! (Yes, a joke).

It has been, well....I guess, "unusual" might cover it! :D Whether CBC is a success or, as many of you predict, a total bomb (and we will have an inkling soon enough as it opens for trading in less than 6 hours), I will not be bothering you about it any more.

Thanks to all who read the posts and even those giving me...uh...advice! It has been fun and I appreciated the opportunity to discuss CBC with you all.

Hopefully, I can come back some day and post about a comic book or two. And maybe I will see one or two of you on some crypto forums! Thanks again!

    Come back, JTBGOOD! :wishluck:

No Doubt, I want to hear the details of this colossal fail

  4. The best part about certain video games was that you could get good at them and really make that quarter last.

There was a guy always at our local arcade that was basically unbeatable at fighting games. There was always a line to play him at Street Fighter 2 Turbo, Mortal Kombat, Virtua Fighter, or Killer Instinct...whichever he was playing at the time.

Unreal to see him smoke 30 kids in a row without losing. He could basically play with one quarter until he was ready to go home.

I could do that with Virtual Fighter, stay on beating people till I was ready to leave.

One day I'm out at mall of America arcade and this kid comes up and asks to play me, I said fine, kid whipped my azz three games in a row, no one had done that to me before.

I admitted defeat and bought him whatever he wanted from the snack bar in honor of his beating me.

He was probably 11, had on not one, not two, but three separate fanny packs (that should have been my first clue he had super human gaming abilities) and Giant coke bottle glasses.

My brother who was with me at the time called him the White Webster.

  5. for the guys setting up the yard sales this weekend-- take some pictures of your setup and share them here-- I would find that interesting and I bet I am not alone.

    good luck!

Here's my setup...7am-2pm tomorrow and Sunday. It's supposed to be windy but sunny. Third weekend in a row I'm having a sale...it continues to do well, so I'll continue to do it. :)

Nice!!! I'd go to that sale!

  6. Glenn, maybe we see it, maybe it's a cliffhanger till next season, but Glenn for sure.

The whole last episode was about saying goodbye to him.

The touching scene of him and Maggie together in the shower, the scenes of him talking and reflecting on how things are different now than he'd thought they would be, and the scene of him driving away from Alexandria to find Daryl with Maggie standing in the gate watching him drive away like she would never see him again.

    Glenn for sure IMO

  7. Well, the new FF wasn't true to the source material, and it still sucked HUGE BALLS

I'm a hardcore FF fan, and I loved the first two movies that most others hated, so I was hoping that this would be better than people were saying also, not the case.

I waited till about a month ago to finally see it.

    Just terrible.

The thing, my favorite character from the comics, was the worst I've ever seen him

Moved, talked, and looked like a muppet from fraggle rock

Kate Mara who was smoking hot in house of cards was completely forgettable

Reed was just kind of there.

And Johnny, who I was all up in arms about being portrayed as black, ended up being the best part of the movie, and he sucked too, just not as bad as the others.

  8. Has anyone seen moisture/condensation/air creating a slight bubble effect from inside a slab? I know they aren't air tight, so it's possible a touch of moisture collected inside the exterior shell? See the pic below - I don't think it's in the inner shell (on the comic), I think it's the exterior shell. You can sort of see the bubbling effect against the full moon.

Should I be worried about this? I just bought this book.

    That is just awful!!

How can you live with a book like that??

Luckily for you, I'm willing to take that monstrosity off your hands for a significantly reduced price.

  9. Woohoo! Just got my oldest FF, a #14 and it's a real beaut as you can see.

    scan0021_zpsiwfuyqzj.jpg

Not only my oldest FF but tied with my JIM #92 (although that is a higher grade) as my oldest comic book.

Now, who has a FF#13 they really can't stand the look of any more? :P

Nice! I just upgraded my 14, on my old issue some kid had drawn a knife right in the middle of the Submariners back.

I call it my "knife in the back subby" copy.

I have several old FF undercopies that I will be eventually selling 7, 9, 11, 13

I'll keep you in mind for when the time comes

  10. feared this would be the case. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/review/x-files-tv-review-854844

still have hope for the Darin Morgan episode

The author of that review is a hatchet piece writing hack.

Tim Goodman is the Chief TV Critic for The Hollywood Reporter. Beyond reviews, he covers the industry + writes trend and analysis pieces, mostly about failure."

He hates and rips on everything, I wouldn't put much stock in his review

utter BS. he wrote for the SF Chronicle for years and is considered one of the best in the business. he's probably the top WD fan in all of criticdom; i guess he's no hack when he's championing that one.

Didn't realize I was dealing with a tim goodman fanboy.

Read a sampling of his reviews, he is negative way more than he is positive, much faster to point out bad things than good.

Some critics take that approach, and he's one of them.
