Arkham got a reaction from Erndog in Visual guide to Mylar sizes
I keep coming back to this thread. It’s honestly the authority on the topic on the Internet. Just wanted to reiterate how much I value the OP. Thanks mate.

Welcome to the boards Crushingame.
I’m sorry to hear about the rough time. Honestly, comics are an amazing outlet. I don’t know of anything else that gives such enjoyment in so many ways.. whether it is reading, admiring covers, researching history, hunting specific runs, talking to friends, attending cons, selling for profit, trying your hand at writing and drawing yourself or building registry sets. This hobby has it all. So, great choice.
This is a pretty amazing community full of great people. I first signed up as a total n00b and have learned a TON from reading threads here. I also met one of my very best friends on these boards.
Looking forward to seeing your recent purchases. Will you look to build a competitive set?

Arkham reacted to Robot Man in I AM JIMMERS!
Hasn’t been much of a good year for me either or just about anybody I know. Maybe the worst year of my life. I won’t bore you with the details. No matter how bad I think I have it, it is nothing compared to a lot of folks.
Instead of hiding in my bunker, I decided to take the high road and try to give back to those who have it a lot worse than I have. For many months, I have masked up, gloved up and handed out food and toys to kids and their parents at the local food bank. I can’t tell you how grateful people are and how much people just need a little help. I’m no hero, or saint. I don’t want any thanks. Kind of selfish really. The looks on these people’s faces has made me forget how bad I’ve felt this year.
Great to see you here Jimmers. Think about you from time to time and glad you are hanging in with the rest of us. This place and the cool people in it has sure made coping a whole lot easier. Stick with us lil buddy!

Arkham reacted to EC Star&Bar in How to identify what print comic you have
More and more later printings are being documented all the time at the GCD site, http://comics.org/
I've made over 10,000 submissions over there, though many were just minor corrections or info.

I’ve been looking for some comic display inspirations and your set up is one of the best I’ve ever seen. So clean! Nice job!

Welcome to the boards Andy!!
Sorry to hear about the work situation but it sounds like you’ve found one hell of a silver lining.
Conversely, I’ve managed to get all my boxes into the home office for sorting and tinkering but work keeps getting in the way!! 🥴
Grass is always greener.

Hello everybody,
I'm taking my 1st steps into the Comic collecting community. Due to not having any work at the moment, I now have time to actually sort through my collection and to start getting them valued.
I've been collecting X-men comics since 1996, with the Onslaught saga bringing me into the merry marvel mutants world.
I hope I'll be able to pick the forums collective brains on a multitude of comic related things.
Many thanks & happy collecting.
Andy

Arkham reacted to Buzzetta in What's your go to Jim Lee key?
I don't know if I would call it a key because it can be found relatively cheaply...
But... I mostly associate him with the wraparound X-Men 1 book.
As previously mentioned, Hush...
And... a signature series book I sometimes regret selling... but I put it toward buying something else...
(image is still in my comiclink purchases)
Lee doesn't seem to have any keys but he definitely has some sensational covers and iconic images like the X-Men 1.
I had flipped this...

Arkham reacted to Summydad1 in What's your go to Jim Lee key?
For me it’s either Batman 608 2nd print or X-Men 268. Can’t beat a Cap and wolverine cover. Cool story too.

Arkham reacted to bpc3qh in What's your go to Jim Lee key?
I associate Hush with him more than anything else, but that's a run of 12 issues...

Going through a rough time in my life right now and need an outlet of some sort. I decided to try comic books and here I am. I’m anxious to share the 4 comics I just recently purchased. Other than that I’m a father of 4 and a retired military veteran. Currently married, but it’s complicated at the moment.
Hope to learn and have fun on this site. Can’t wait, thank you!

Dont list grade just clear pics and list defects. No matter how good you are at grading or how conservative you grade, that does not matter. Because you will be selling to people who DONT know how to grade and will get angry when your grade doesnt align with the mythical grade they have come up with. I never list grades and my books consistently sell on the high side for similar books.
