  1. should pieces that are available for sale be allowed to be entered into the lowry? I know I saw one piece that had a price tag associated with it.
  2. made my votes. chances are that if you had a good looking piece with Batman in it you got my vote
  3. what about sellers that don't price their items that are for sale?
  4. $300 + $15 shipping. I bought this from a collector after falling in love with it when it first came to market. For those of you interested, Todor can be found on twitter at the below link. Unless he increased his prices, his commissions were $250 for single characters 11x17 with full backgrounds. As you can tell from doing a search on CAF, he OWNS Batman but is versatile in many characters - I have a wonderful Catwoman in Paris that he did for me last year. https://twitter.com/Todor_Hr Thanks Bcarter for running this and coming up with the great idea. There's a lot of wonderful art to be had on a lower budget and I know that there are a ton more affordable artists out there that weren't showcased.
  5. no disrespect meant, but I would think that if you were an 'investor', buying a full issue of extremity wouldn't be the first way I would think an investor would place 10k. to me it points that these are going to collectors.
  6. I guess if it was a bargain, well below FMV I would. but if offered at FMV, or at an auction I wouldn't pay attention to it.
  7. I may be in the minority in saying that I have no interest in ditko spidey or Kirby ff. I would think that a younger generation would probably rather spend $50k on a splashy Jim Lee cover than some of this older art that they don't have any emotional connection with.
  8. Id go laura martin or alex sinclair if u are ok with copics
  9. i think it all boils down to different strokes for different folks. similar to how for a certain generation nsync > beatles.
  10. 1st appearance of black mask, a man bat story, a hatter. moench writing, mandrake art. maybe its me but I don't see those as being bad bat books?
  11. what is generally considered a 'young' collector in the hobby? obviously under 30 - but under 40 as well?
  12. sold on kwan's site last year for 750 to 800. now 3500 http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=1444120
  13. while I agree that DKR is historically important, it may not be personally important to some buyers. similar to the argument that some make around Kirby art and the longevity of that pricing. as a batman buyer, I personally don't love seeing skyrocketing prices. i don't believe that skyrocketing prices for this character are insulated to the modern capullo and sgm markets and have seen prices for what i enjoy jump over the years partially influenced with whats going on with these prices.
  14. 10k for a pic of lady (presumably Harley?) with a dog and a batman bust... go figure
  15. who is the current IT spidey artist? Stegman? if yes, then seems like you can get your pick of a ton of art at reasonable prices. nothing near what finch, sgm, capullo, etc are asking for Batman. http://cadencecomicart.com/artist.php?artist=32
  16. the commissioner just hit the commission jackpot. having ones commission become a published piece, in this case published as a DC statue, is a huge win.
  17. Gotham centered collection with a focus on iconic images / posings of the big DC characters. Had an obsession with jam pieces that has since died down. OA focus is on scratching the nostalgia itch with early 90s breyfogle and aparo batman. Currently working on a few commission projects which i hope to finish up this year. http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryDetail.asp?GCat=34431
  18. Yep, im envious of those that collect lessor characters than batman as those art prices remain reasonable.
  19. Stay within your paypal window and dont be afraid to exercise your rights for a refund. Once u get past a 6 month wait, chances are u will not have a positive experience.
  20. I sent you a note regarding an ebay win several days ago and have recieved no response.
