  1. Hey everybody, I hope y'all had a good holiday season. I've been off-grid dealing with personal issues for some time. And, though I wish I could state "I'm Back", this post is one of sorrow. I have fallen on significantly hard times and will be taking offers on most of my TMNT collection. I have posted the sales page on the Technodrome Forums yesterday. I figured I would post here as well since there are a fair amount of shellheads that don't go on the drome. Below is the URL for the sales page. I can't stress it enough that any interested party should thoroughly read the rules and reg's before submitting interest or offers. I am not happy to be doing this, but it has come to this for me. Thank you for your time. http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/showthread.php?p=1652198#post1652198
  2. I'd say Tales V.2 is more for reading and less for collecting, barring #70. #70 is the last comic Mirage made. It post dates V.4 #31 and #31 in production date despite both being published years after Tales #70. So, #70 will probably always have merit, and being a part of RTNY doesn't hurt either... I have the 9.6 universal slab and I'm considering putting it up on the bay. Should I do this, I am making sure to include a file with all the interior pages so one could read the book w/o cracking the case. I do agree that Tales V.2 is not a highly sought volume for graded copies, but think #70 will always have merit raw or slabbed. ----- If you include all the PL Saurian Design material and his work with SCAT as well as the material KE did for Clay Geerdes, you're easily gonna have a list of 30- 40 different publications with pre-tmnt contributions by PL and KE. I'd say there more than that, no doubt, too. I always wanted to try and get a list/database going, but don't have the time. Knowing PL was a professional artists for 10 years prior to TMNT #1, I would say someone trying to account for cataloging all his work during that time has their work cut out for them. I'm sure there are smidges of KE prior to 1981 out there, but feel a majority of his pre-TMNT work was done from 1980 - 1984...
  3. Sold a OA page to Ramon. Prompt, courteous, and very polite. I would gladly deal with him again.
  4. This is back in my hands. Pretty happy it's the highest graded copy so far.
  5. Thats a real sweet TPB!! Congrats These are so pretty!!!! Glad I ordered so many. Thanks Rich Horn for tracking the photo down.
  6. You are correct sir. Mirage had a Marvel trifecta in the back of the issue. McFarlane, Simonson and Larsen had full page pinups. Simonsons was used by IDW as a cover for an early issue CVR B I think. Interesting how Larsen got involved years before volume 3.
  7. Thanks, I'm really happy how it turned out. Hopefully I cam make it to Springfield MA next weekend to have Lawson sign it... Nice sketch cover, Eric never slacks on the quality... Haha, that's actually my sketch cover in his rack. He did a wraparound Foot Clan themed sketch for me, came out great.I almost didn't want to get it slabbed, but did. Below is a front/back shot. I just love his take on things!!! I went to NYCC the first day, super big thank you to the men who hooked me up!!! I finally got to meet Todd McFarlane. Super cool dude! Pretty sure I was the only guy to get his sig on a TMNT related item. Still one of my favorite turtles pinup! He picked a great color to sign it with too, Terrapin Green! It was humorous to me that people asked why I would wait three hours to have him sign this. I couldn't help but ask why they all had Hulk 340 and Spidy 300... "I Keep It Real!"
  8. Thanks! Thank you Adam. I'll definitely bring the big portfolio to a show. I'm gonna do NYCC tomorrow, but that will be too busy. I'm going to try and go to Bing Con later this month. It's a great small show with no crowds in Springfield MA. Jim Lawson, Steve Bissette and Stephen Murphy will be there. Haha, close. My daughter's name is Evelyn Ann. Mind partially blown...
  9. Great books Adam! It was good seeing you at Bmore, if only briefly. That is one of my favorite Farley covers and it's so pretty! Though I don't post pics here much, I think I have some recent pickups I feel are worthy of this illustrious thread... Here's a commission by Jim Lawson(pencils) and Eric Talbot(inks/tones) I recently got back. Eric had it for me in Bmore. I wanted to commission a cover redo, but wanted to stray from the issue one cover and be different. See also: oddball... This is one of my top pieces of my collection and commemorates my daughter's birth last year. I picked up the penciled DuoShade from Jim when she was 3 days old and handed it off to Eric shortly thereafter. Eric put so much love into this, I can't muster words to express my gratitude and enjoyment. He even inked in a Easter egg with my daughter's name. It's a large page measuring 22" x 15" I saw a partially finished product in Boston this year and it was awesome hearing the two of them reminisce over TMNT and Mirage. I truly can't thank the two of them enough for this... But, I will surely try I plan on seeing Jim soon and getting his Johnny H to complete this. Maybe with luck, I can get him to write "After Laird" and give it some nice provenance. Boston 2015 I also snagged a volume one cover and can now say I'm part of the coveted club of volume one cover OA owners. This is the cover OA fror issue 44 by Rick Arthur. It's a good feeling and this page is also oversized measuring 24" x 15" and painted with acrylics and dyes. The depth and texture is gret in person. The colors are much warmer in person too. The experience of acquiring this, and an interior page, from Rick Arthur was top notch professionalism. It's really important to me to have a great experience buying pages as well as owning them, it adds to the sentiment.
  10. I did not, already have a Lawson sketch slabbed. The giraffe was for her birthday.
  11. Just got these back yesterday. I did a mini op with Jim for Boston. The top slab was for my daughter(when she's older). I asked Jim to do a mock up of a Space Giraffe in the style of the old Playmates character concept sketches. The second is for a friend(hence the spoiler). They asked for Donny as a Chicago Blackhawk.
  12. Is my humor that dry? Not sure if you're asking about the art or the logo for Tales #1. Both came from PL.
  13. There's definitely something wrong with picture... I think Mr. Laird is playing a trick on me. I want my money back for these cover proofs.
  14. Issue 31 should be around for FCBD and shortly after the same way as last year... I do t post pics here often, feeling adventurous at work (also on a bridge call thats dragging). Big thanks to peasofcrap for the assist!!! Love the Fluffy... Cover pencils and Dario's John Hancock... Got the master of skulls to go cutesy for my daughter...
