  1. Offering for sale a Rob Liefeld X-Force page from Issue 6 that I have had for years. In the recent Heritage auction, a very similar page for this issue sold, so I figured now would be an appropriate time to offer for sale at a price a fraction of the total hammer cost from HA. If you bid there, and have interest, let's talk! X-Force Issue 6, page 14: Large images of Warpath & Shatterstar w/ a panel of the two battling. Everything you could love about Liefeld's X-Men work is on this page. Ask price is $20,000. Time payments are okay, and can work on payment options. Compare this page to the recent sale on HA. Similar vintage, characters. I'd argue this one has better action and condition. With a deep discount on total cost: https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/story-page/rob-liefeld-x-force-7-story-page-10-original-art-marvel-1992-/a/7342-95212.s?ic2=mytracked-lotspage-lotlinks-12202013&tab=MyTrackedLots-101116 Please reach out with any questions. Thanks! Compare to: $28.8K + Taxes & Fees
  2. If the underbidder on this Liefeld X-Force page is looking for a similar page (minus BP), LMK! https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/story-page/rob-liefeld-x-force-7-story-page-10-original-art-marvel-1992-/a/7342-95212.s?ic2=mytracked-lotspage-lotlinks-12202013&tab=MyTrackedLots-101116 I've got: https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1512854
  3. Higher price than I expected, but that’s a special issue, The Anatomy Lesson. Maybe Alan Moore’s most revered single issue, and in my view one of the most important (and good!) single issues in all comics. So not surprised it gets a major premium to other swamp thing pages by the same creators, which are pretty $$$ anyway.
  4. Incidentally the cover for 35 is coming up for auction (again?): https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/covers/mark-bagley-and-matt-banning-as-batt-inked-after-publication-ultimate-spider-man-35-cov/p/7341-59004.s?ic4=GalleryView-ShortDescription-071515
  5. Guess it all depends on what you’re looking for. I bought two Howard Porter JLA pages for reasonable prices. One had been offered last year I liked, listed this year for lower and we made a deal. Very happy. Other things in my wheelhouse: - Several very affordable Immonen NextWave pages which are rare to see. -An Andy Kubert X-Men 25, A JRJR Daredevil Man without, several Sandman pages (from the Donnelley no less) all at fair prices. - Someone got a really great Andrew Robinson Spider-Man cover at a great price. Just to say there’s been no let down in things that pique my interest this time. For me, It’s all about the collectors getting a chance to play art dealer for a weekend rather than anything the dealers do or expecting the same offerings as a HA feature Auction.
  6. Similar to the above. A really nice Duncan Fegredo Hellboy page. sold on HA last March for $2,000 https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/story-page/duncan-fegredo-hellboy-the-wild-hunt-8-story-page-7-original-art-dark-horse-2009-/a/7265-51211.s?ic16=ViewItem-Auction-Archive-PreviousPricesHeritage-081514 sold on HA this week $1170 https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/story-page/duncan-fegredo-hellboy-the-wild-hunt-8-story-page-7-original-art-dark-horse-2009-/a/322319-47077.s?ic2=mytracked-lotspage-lotlinks-12202013&tab=MyTrackedLots-101116
  7. Known outside of Europe? Yes. Jealous of everyone who can make it due to the location, talent and what sounds like incredible atmosphere, and hope to someday have the time and money to make it from the US? Also yes.
  8. I don’t have any rooms in my house I’d want to hang comic art, just my designated comic closet which has a row of book cases on one side. Everything had previously been in portfolios, but @GreatEscape’s post on this thread made me look into the matboard and bag option. I went with a mat size that came with show bags using his method. I can rotate pieces onto the ledges, so I can see different art when I go peruse books. It’s no museum, but I really like how they turned out, especially the double page spreads which I couldn’t see without taking out of the Itoyas before.
  9. The lettering choices in these two pages always stuck out to me from Peter David and Joe Quesada’s X-Factor. On the first page, Havok saying “I can’t think of a word loathsome enough”, under his breath because the words are smaller in the balloon. On the second, “Random?!” “Are you out of your mind?” Incredulous. Something really lost without word balloons:(
  10. Surprised by anyone who’s upset at anything offered for sale. There are dealers and flippers (amateur dealers?), and sure prices can look absurd to keep up with auctions. But a vast majority of offerings at CAF Live are folks selling from their collections. Some are priced to sell, others are priced with “what it would take”. Which is about par for the course when trying to do private deals in my experience. Hit or miss. I didn’t take the ASM so much as a “joke”, rather, if you wanted it today that’s what you’d have to pay. Maybe it’s a future state or multiple of FMV, but I appreciate someone willing to do that
  11. I took the ASM 300 listing and price to be a bit tongue in cheek. Listed super high, not really trying to sell. But it’s kinda fun to see a $5M item for sale (whether it’s worth $5M or not). I love to see what type of pieces people want to offer who aren’t dealers. Yes, 90%+ is same/priced not to sell/not my cup of tea, but I find at least 15-20 pages that I consider fair priced and unique offers. An X-men 25 page for $10K that would have been more at HA, a Tom Strong 1 page, 2 early Porter JLA pages, an early Bachalo GenX page, are a few example of the types of pages I thought fit that bill. First year I didn’t buy anything, but that’s just down to my personal budget at the moment. I commend folks for making things available outside of auctions and consignments. Hope it keeps going.
  12. Does Paypal Goods & Services always hold the money in escrow essentially until the buyer confirms receipt? I've bought a number of pages from collectors I'd reached out to (never met) on CAF, and historically either sent a check, or paid F&F. Recently I bought a piece from a collector overseas and due to stories on here and on Facebook I figured I should be more responsible, and insisted on Paypal G&S. The seller wasn't enthused, but we did it. I was surprised to hear from him that Paypal held all the funds until I confirmed receipt. Setting aside that it's the proper way to use the service, I thought that was a little too skewed in the buyer's favor. I could see how susceptible that could be to bad actors that claim the art never arrived, as well as driving the buyer to pay out of pocket for packing and shipping and sending out a valuable item without seeing a dime. I always expect to pay before an item is shipped. Anyway, was curious if that is how it always works, or maybe it was due to both parties using it the first time. It didn't make me feel great as a buyer, and I'd feel even worse as a seller. Seems like there should be some middle ground of coverage.
  13. You weren’t the only one who thought that, Malvin. Saw this recently, looks like someone already did. https://www.cartoonbrew.com/comics/dall-e-midjourney-ai-illustrated-comics-220166.html
