  1. you know.. They don't call it The Variant Mafia for nothing! This buyer got the score and another buyer was tracking the original buyer and made them a better offer! Happens more often than your realize! so "forgetta about it"!
  2. Hey everybody! I am not on this site very much.. but.. I am working a deal here in San Francisco.,. and I will have a pretty big announcement here soon.. IF it all works out..
  3. Well after years of selling variants on Ebay.. I have my first return.. due to damage in shipping... from an Ebayer that goes by the name of liquidsports11 for a Godzilla Issue 2 ..35 cent price variant... claimed it was damaged in shipping... and here is how I packed it; Bagged and Boarded Place between 2 pieces of Cardboard Plastic Wrap placed around it Placed in a Priority Bubble Wrap Flat Mailer.. Then placed in a Priority Flat Rate Envelope.. Written on the outside.. Please do not Bend.. Package is insured" on both sides. Done this alot.. with no problems... he claimed it was damaged during shipping and is now returning it... said it was not due to it being shoved through his mail slot.. guy paid $114.00 for it.. I checked his feedback and even though he has a score of 214.. seems he has no feedback, well except for 1, during the past 90 days.. usually this occurs when an account has been suspended, from what I have seen in the past.. I am bringing it unopened to the post office when it arrives.. with my video camera.. just to be safe.. to file for the insurance.. I know some of you sell on Ebay.. you ever done a deal with this person? Thanks, Frank
  4. New record for a price Variant I believe.. http://cgi.ebay.com/STAR-WARS-1-35-CENT-VARIANT-CGC-9-4-NM-WHITE-PAGES_W0QQitemZ160371071344QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item2556dc5970 Nice Best Offer too! originally offered at $15,000 but c'mon.. 10 Thou is a good price.. I know where he got it, as I am sure you all do too! and of course as always a Star Wars issue 1 Congrats!
  5. hmm here is a picture of the copy I had up: [/img]
  6. I had one of those, just last month.. but no All Sticker attached.. sold pretty well on ebay and it was only in good shape.
  7. I know you did! i saw it and had some communications with the seller, and then i missed the auction by 2 minutes! Postman at the door! Congrats!
  8. As far as Gold Key price variants.. I see them all the time.. i just had an auction with several of them. I don't know why Gold Key did that.. for instance if you spot a gold key comic from 1964 to 1966 with a 15 cent cover price.. odds are it is a price variant or change
  9. Yeah.. well the All Detergent 184 no price variant, was the only one I spotted on Ebay for years. The slabbed comic went all the way to England. (thumbs u
  10. Well, I asked the seller, what he meant by the listing.. I asked him if it meant there was a double cover.. one with 30 cents on the outside and on the inside one with 35 cents... which i know is basically impossible.. but who knows, could happen. And he replied with a smarmy answer, saying that he knows what he is talking about. and that I was just trying to prove my comic prowess.. Too bad, i don't know who the buyer is.. i would let him know he just wasted his money!
  11. This guy is going to be disappointed about this comic: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=170316605380 I tried to ask the seller what he meant by the title.. I believe he was saying that the indicia says 35 cents, and the cover says 30 cents.. I told them all.. the issues are that way.. and he said no this is rare. Funny thing is he is selling quite a bit of 30 cent variants.
  12. Thanks for the info, guys.. Well I had to list it also! Up for auction on EBAY along with my other variants.. check them out at: http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZcomichuntersQQfrppZ50QQfsopZ32QQfsooZ2QQrdZ0 Good luck to all! Frank
  13. okay, somehow I ended up on a different area... You know I can never get this posting stuff right! Here it is again: Looks like they forgot about the 35 cent Price Variant note on this one!
  14. I think the grading is spot on.. VG.. no tears, a few creases.. I have seen sellers list good comics in what I would call fair or poor shape! Good luck, Darth
  15. Actually correction,,,, i believe the Fantastic Four 170 from the phillipines is in low print.. and when you open the auction site for the Amethyst variants.. it says the ebay seller is private! I have never privatized my buying habits... so what is up with that? something ebay did not me! .. you guys can stalk all you want! i just spend about 4 hours a night on ebay.. i do not have much of a social life because of it!
  16. Wow! never sold.. everything i said on the auction was true! i have had only two of these comics in the past two years! The Star Wars issue 1 with no price sold over a year ago for around $56.. yet when i put this comic up and identified it as a philippine editon it did not sell! I had ten watchers on this auction! to tell you the truth , i was a bit shocked.... i do not believe these editions are in low print... so far seems that the phillipines editons only cover from 1976 to 1977 from what I have found so far, and they are printed in English.. i guess i will hang on to it for awhile.. in the meantime: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320197354231&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.com%3A80%2Fsearch%2Fsearch.dll%3Ffrom%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dm37%26satitle%3D320197354231%2509%26category0%3D%26fvi%3D1 let me know if anyone is interested..
  17. I have put this comic up for bid on ebay. I believe a couple of other members have had this comic. here is the link and explanation: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280182374879 If you would like it , please bid.. I will be putting up a lot more variants in the next 6 weeks. Thanks all Frank
  18. Hi guys, Well I found another weird price variant! It actually has no price! I po9sted the Star Wars 1 here a couple of years ago, that had no price on it. Same story as this one. here is a picture:
  19. hmmm.... looks like the fake ones are starting to pop up! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=110190786524&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=001
  20. No Way! The guy originally wanted to sell them for $150.. I wrote him back and told him I believed the whole auction was a scam.. I'm no sucker!
  21. Hey gang, I know I have not posted in awhile.. got scammed over the weekend , first of all take a look at this picture: Now I am pretty good at spotting these,,,, In fact, the seller called me to ask me about buying a second set from him.. I asked him after making my initial bid, what the cover prices were, and he said they are all 30 centers, I actually asked him was he sure, because the picture sure looks like there is a 35 cent cover price on issue 1, he got kind of quiet, and then said no, but alot of people had asked him about that , which he said he answered... Unfortunately, I won the auction, and I then get the invoice and the *spoon* adds on $102.00 to the price with no explanation!!!! Take a look at the picture and let me know in your opinion, if you can spot the variant! Thanks, frank
  22. hi guys! Go get this 30 cent X-men 100 Variant! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6633339616&sspagename=ADME:L:RTQ:US:1 uh, that is if you don't mind shipping of $90 and that is parcel post! Jeez!
  23. What are variants dead now? no postings in awhile and I was able to get these two for a moderate price: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...N%3AIT&rd=1 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...N%3AIT&rd=1 Only cosmic bid against me and he never came bac to bid more! So I have two Westerns crossed off my list. I would say they are in fine shape, perhaps better I would say what happened to Darth and others, but as you can see by the listing. It was a short three dayer, and never use "#" sign and "30cent" i found it on ebay by using just "marvel variant" I consider myself lucky!
  24. Actually, took my dad out to lunch when this auction ended , nice lunch, bad move! Are these actually rarer than the 35 cent variant first print editions? and what the heck was it doing in England? Maybe that is the secret to tracking these down. I asked the seller if there were any more, but he said no. Congrats to the winner.! STAR WARS 1 REPRINT VARIANT!
