It's been two years since I had any books on display. I was finally given permission to bring the bookshelf in from the garage. It's in the living room now which is different. I'll see them more than I would in the bedroom but I'm a little worried about things getting bumped into. Direct sun won't be an issue and I'll probably put the comics away when I'm not at home.

And my cats love my books. Gotta keep them off the shelves.

In any case, it's a very exciting day!

    Permission? From who? Your parents?

Now that I think of it, Action and Detective had a lot of good artists as well. Curt Swan, though more of a cartoonist than an "illustrator" was an excellent comic book artist. His run on Action Comics is one of the longest, if not the longest, run of any artist on any comic. Byrne, Kubert, and other notables also worked on the title, but none with the same impact as Swan. Detective had loads of excellent doses, though none dominated the title Swan dominated Action, or Kirby on FF, or Romita on ASM. Detective had Neal Adams, Michael Kaluta, Frank Robbins, Jim Aparo, MR. Giordano, Marshall Rogers, Walt Simonson (though not his best work), and many others.

Agreed regarding Detective. I would add that it also had a nice long run by Norm Breyfogle, a personal fav of mine. As well as shorter, but memorable runs by Alan Davis and Todd McFarlane.

In my opinion, Marvel has enough money to make their comics and republish them. On the other hand, DC probably doesn't want to waste time or money. As for artists, there was simply no normal search for specialists, there is not a single person who would like to become a comic book artist (well, of course from those who can draw).

Welcome to the boards. Your post sounds like it was written by a bot. Are you a bot?

I would go with there is a creator, nothing new under the sun, and such isn't a meaningless set of circumstances because that I believe that there IS a freedom of choice.

If some things are set in motion I must believe that though I'd like the credit or to someway be involved, I am very circumstancial to the Jehovah Adonai Christ Jesus that somehow made the correct initiative on my behalf. So while my "choice" may seem inconsequential it is something that the i Am that told Moses in me must bear record for choosing.

    Such is life.

I struggle to understand your posts. Not just this one. Do you speak like you write?

We also wear a toque and balance a long box against a 6 pack of Canadian beer while riding a horse thru the snow on the frozen tundra of Canada while listening to Celine Dion on a Sony Walkman.

That's gotta be worth at least a loonie or a twoonie, right?

So far they've announced 3 out of the 5 members of the initial Autobot team. They are Optimus Prime, Arcee, and Cliffjumper was revealed this morning. Of the two remaining, one is absolutely Wheeljack, and the other has to be Ratchet, despite that being a tad redundant.

Anyone have any thoughts on thst lineup?

Here's the image we have so far:

Could that possibly be Iron Hide and not Ratchet? They have the same shape in toy form.

Wow, Jesse Custer became the Punisher?? :baiting:

I kid! It's a super cool book (and I'm a huge Preacher fan) - I feel like Dillon just always has one face he draws...

That's actually exactly what I always liked about Dillon's Punisher. He never smiles. He never looks scared. He literally never changes expression. He always has that disgusted look on his face like he just stepped in dog poo.
