  1. The X-Men are never going to be as popular as The Hulk, Captain America, Thor, Spider-Man (He will be joining the Avengers team in up coming movies) and the rest of The Avenger members. The Avengers are much better known to people than X-Men members will ever be (Except for Wolverine, Professor X and Magneto).

The X-Men, for a period of probably 20 years, were the most popular comic books characters on the planet. They outsold everybody, Marvel and DC both.

The reason that they aren't anymore has got a lot to do with the films, and the people who own the rights to the films.

Basically, Marvel gave away the rights to their top line characters - X-Men, Spidey and FF - and still managed to kick everybody's arses because they produced quality.

Nothing to do with popularity, everything to do with delivery.

I guess for people who are not true X-Men fans movies can make or break their alliance....but not for real X-Men fans.

What kinda is that? X-men have always been my favorite in the comics. If anything, X fans should be more discerning. I'm not gonna like a mediocre movie because I'm just supposed to. That's just retarded.

  2. Can't say I'm surprised by the reviews. Although I've been entertained enough by most of the X movies, they've more and more strayed wildly from the source material. From the first preview you could tell this one would be the same.

Civil War swayed from the source material too, but you do not see anyone bashing it for doing so.

They're movies. There's always going to be some straying from the comics.

But X-men takes it next level. There are so many problems with switching powers and relationships, that at some point it's not really the X-men anymore, just names and likenesses.

Again, I've been reasonably entertained by the movies, but they've always had tons of problems. And if Civil War could do in two weeks what the last X-men did in total, clearly a lot of consumers agree.

  3. I hope it does move to the CW. Even though I've heard mixed reviews, I would've watched the season if it aired on Hulu or whatnot.

I never thought CBS was the right fit, and they probably lost a lot of potential next day viewers by only streaming the show on their own service.

  4. I knew that name looked familiar! I had added him to the PL. doh!

funny how a bad transaction can haunt someone here for years.

I don't see him on the list. Did he ultimately make amends for whatever landed him there?

If so and he payed for a book from a fellow boardie and the seller decides to refund with no explanation and not sell why is that ok with everyone?

He somewhat made amends for his PL nomination.

Basically, he was nominated, had a whatever attitude about it, and was added.

I guess it was finally explained well enough to him that he's gonna have problems continuing buying and selling if he didn't get his head out of his arse.

So he emailed the seller to buy the book after all, but the book was already sold. So the seller was satisfied enough to have him removed from the PL.

But not enough, I'm sure, to be removed from several personal lists.

I have no idea the reason for the current refund, because it was extremely vague. But he mentioned himself something about a continuing headache, so who knows without more info.

  5. Is it possible to nominate someone on PL who simply lacked communication, never sent a tracking # and just decides to refund without any explanation, simply to just not deal with the headache furthermore?

Somebody probably PMed them and explained what a mess it is to deal with you.

You got your money back, so it's probably best to just let it go and not draw unwanted attention to yourself. 2c

    Hope that helps!

  6. It's great to see Charlie Cox is steeped in the lore of Daredevil.

Daredevil Star Hopeful For Punisher Series, Bullseye, and Kingpin Return

I hopped on a call with Charlie Cox this week to talk about the franchise, I took the opportunity to ask what characters from the comics he’d personally like to join the Marvel-Netflix universe… and the first thing he jumped to was Bernthal’s Punisher as well.

"Well, yeah, really good question. Look, I have to preface all of this – because I got in trouble in the past for speculating – so I preface it all by saying I have no idea what the Netflix-Marvel plans are. I have no idea if there’s going to be a third season. If there was one I have no idea what characters would be involved – all that core stuff but you guys get that."

"But as I’ve got to know this show, this character a little bit, I would love to see – and I know this is something that’s speculated about and I have no idea if it’s possible or not possible – having worked with Jon [bernthal] I would love to see Punisher get his own show. I’d love to see that happen. It’s such a rich character and Jon embodies him in such a spectacular way. Fans are going to be overwhelmed and pleased with what he brought to the character so I’d love to see The Punisher get his own 13 episodes. And if he does, I’d love to be in it [laughs]. I’d love Daredevil to make an appearance. "

As for the future of Daredevil as its own series and other characters Cox would want to see in his show, Bullseye is top of mind.

"If we are fortunate enough to continue making the Daredevil series, I can’t imagine doing a run of Daredevil where Bullseye doesn’t show up at some point. It would be great to have him around at some point. Who would play that part I have no idea but I just think there’s such an interesting, rich character there, and also of course, the history that Bullseye has with Karen Page is an interesting dynamic. When you read the comics it’s etched in a Daredevil memory all that stuff."

And he definitely wants to revisit Kingpin.

    :whee:

Can anybody give me a cliffs notes on the Bullseye / Karen history from the comics?

  7. Finished the first 5 episodes. I can see why Bernthal is getting raves.

Be prepared to spend a good chunk of time at once, because there's no good place to stop. Each episode ends with something that makes you want to watch the next, even more so than the first season.

And the fight scene at the end of episode 3 was just f'n insane :ohnoez:

Although I think Civil War will be awesome, the MCU needs to start mixing it up a bit more. Because the Netflix shows, especially this one, are killing it.
